Well placed for easy access to town and restaurants
Very busy, noisy road outside but quietened down during night.
4.3
It needs a tidy and spruce up and a deeper clean in the rooms
4.3
Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast.
4.3
it had great reviews but sadly not fabulous for me
I didn't like the room, which as a bit grubby (grubby doors, light pull, rusting radiator room 6) it was tatty furniture, ghastly unkempt view of garden. It seemed like a tired old nursing home (I am retired nurse)
I Can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't stay in the end, I rested and then ploughed on home another 90 miles away preferring my home comforts

plenty of room, tasty breakfast & owner was very helpful

excellent Lovely sausages

Beautiful building, homely, large & comfortable family room, with good WiFi connectivity, and sufficient electrical & USB sockets for the whole family. The breakfast was good quality food, good selection of items, & well prepared - delicious.
All good - there are accessibility issues for those with mobility problems; presently not suitable for wheelchair access. The host was very obliging, & we were able to overcome the problems. Not everyone may be able. On street parking may be hit & miss, though there is a public car park around the corner.

Nothing enjoyed the whole experience

Lovely old building with character. Clean and pleasantly furnished. We were looking for a basic overnight stop on our drive up to the Highlands with a comfy bed, friendly welcome and dog friendly rooms... The Old Rectory delivered all of this. Would recommend for a one night stay to rest and break your journey.
There was nothing that we disliked about our stay.
4.3
Ideal location, value for money, very clean, well-appointed room, good quality food
A pretty near perfect stay- the only quibble was the lack of Scottish features such as haggis and tattie scones on the otherwise very tasty breakfast; also, although my wife confirmed she was a non-meat eater on arrival, the menu on the breakfast table didn't offer the kind of comprehensive list of veggie ingredients which appears on the Old Rectory website, which was a little confusing.

Really enjoyed it, was cooked very well also a quick device.
I have absolutely no complaints

comfortable room, tea and coffee making facilities, very good breakfast
There was a mix up when I arrived about my room booking, but it was very quickly sorted out.

central location, large rooms, great breakfast

Walking distance from town. Bedroom was quiet and warm. Breakfast was good and owner very personable and chatty.
Bathroom was tired and it needed a refurb. Parking was on a busy road.
4.3
The location, the friendliness of the people, and the accommodation. The room was comfortable had a little road noise but not enough to disturb sleep. All in all worth the money. Would definitely return.

The Old Rectory is in a good location. It is close to the local amenities and high street. There are a few local restaurants and bars to choose from.
The Old Rectory is really tired and dated. It really needs some TLC. The large double bed was two single beds pushed together with grubby looking quilt cover and pillow cases. The paintwork is really in need of a fresh paint. The furniture has had a very poor attempt at shabby chic and it really just looks shabby. I was really disappointed with the room. The pressure in the shower was really weak and took ages to heat up. The bathroom was also tired looking. It really all needs freshening up.

Very pleasant staff
