Cute and everything we needed

Very cute and comfy and GREAT location. Cozy but well designed to work well for a family of 4. Kitchen has everything we needed, tv and WiFi were great for rainy days, shared dock and beach were perfect. Bathroom is small but worked fine even for my 6’3” hubby. Nice neighbors, very laid back and steps from the water. Definitely hope to stay here again!

Nice little cottage on platte lake. It was very clean and well kept. Sit on the porch and listen to the loons calling. The bed was very comfortable. Very nice!

We were so happy with this cute little cottage and we had a perfect and peaceful stay. We’ll definitely be back. The cottage was very clean, which is the most important thing to us, and nicely maintained. It was also well stocked with supplies and kitchen equipment. Its location is ideal for lake activities, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor and other beautiful and nearby destinations. Amy is a friendly, kind and responsive host. From before we even booked the cottage, all the way through to the end of our stay, she quickly answered all our questions. She has a gem of a place here and we were thankful we were able to rent it for our family reunion on Platte Lake this summer.

We had a "girls' trip" here for a week with my mom, aunt, and cousin, and we had an amazing time! The cabin was VERY cozy (as described), but it met all of our needs. It was clean and beautifully furnished inside. The window in the living room looks right on the lake. We really enjoyed the dock, lake, and fire pit just steps away from the cabin. The location is perfect for going to all of our favorite spots in the area, including Beulah and Sleeping Bear Dunes. All of our neighbors were very kind and friendly. We highly recommend it!

What a gem on Big Platte Lake! We chose this property for its location on Big Platte but also near the Platte & Betsie Rivers for fishing. Great location!
The Cabbage House has all the warmth and charm of a decades old cottage without the rusty & dusty kitsch. Tastefully modernized for a sense of calm, not clutter. Everything was very clean and amenities provided as listed.
This cottage offers a beautiful view of the lake from the sitting room window! Plenty of frontage to enjoy w/neighboring cottages & guests.
So much to see & do in & around this area! Perfect location for all of it.
Ours friends joined us for part of the time. We were cozy in the space but still comfortable.
Great communication from the owner! Couldn’t ask for better.
Great memories made! Thank you!

Great but a couple of issues. Hair dryers kept blowing circuit breaker and ground fault interrupter in bathroom. Needs to be looked at. And Knats!! An issue.

The outdoor spaces were fantastic and location was great.

We had an absolutely lovely time at this beautiful cabin. The only thing we wish we had understood before coming was that we had to share the beach with other families. The other families were extremely rude to our family, but we were able to go to other beaches in the area and still have lots and lots of fun. We wish that we had understood this prior to coming; however, we still enjoyed the beautiful cabin and the wonderful amenities and the gorgeous areas nearby. We hope to return and have another stay. Now that we understand that there are other families in the cabins nearby, hopefully they will be kinder next time we stay.

Too expensive. Too many people trying to share the water.

House was very very clean and had some great updates. Our young kids loved the water the bunk beds and interacting with the other kids that share the property. For a smaller cabin it was laid out nicely and worked great for a family of 4.

Platte Lake Get Away
We very much enjoyed staying in this cottage. It was very clean and the decor was beautiful. Most of the time it was just the two of us. Some friends came up for a couple of nights and they were able to use the bunkbeds. We loved the atmosphere of the small community of cottages. We met a lot of friendly vacationers. We used our bbq pit, the shared firepit and found many activities to fill our week. We went to Traverse City to sail on the bay, canoed on the Platte River, visited Sleeping Bear Dunes and hung out on Lake Michigan. We found great restaurants in Frankfort, Traverse City, Honor, Buelah, and Elberta. All of these towns were close by. Communication with our host was great, she was quick to text back with any questions we had. We look forward to coming back. Jill

Family trip to Bear Dunes
We spent a week here while exploring the bear dunes and other areas up north. It was a nice central location for making our day trips. The cabin is brand new inside and very nice! There are a lot of close neighbors, so it is not a quiet or private place to stay at all. With that said, the permanent neighbors are really nice and we enjoyed talking with them. Also the bunk beds are in the common living space, so if traveling with kids keep that in mind. Our kids loved staying there and playing in the sand and water! The lake is shallow enough for little kids to swim all the way out to the end of the dock while still being able to touch, which is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay!

Quiet Platte Lake
Platte Lake is perfect for kayakers. This cottage is located at the far end of the lake making the paddle to Lake Michigan challenging but not impossible. The property was quiet and neighbors are friendly. The location made it easy to reach the nearby towns and trails.

Nice little spot
Seen other responses about needing a deep clean, that had been done. Was very clean. I'm 6'4", making the shower difficult and with that watch your head going into the bathroom. Place worked out very well. Recommend

Peaceful getaway
The cabin was exactly as I had anticipated. The location was wonderful. The beach was sandy and I particularly enjoyed the wooden swing by the lake. The bathroom/shower were small, but I knew that ahead of time and it worked well. I had to contact the owner about an issue with the cabin and she responded immediately and it was fixed quickly. Overall a pleasant experience.

Wonderful Summer Vacation
We had an amazing time on the lake and in the Sleeping Sand Dunes area. This cabin and the peaceful lake were relaxing and perfect area to swim for our 7 and 9 year old! Beautiful sunsets, plenty in the area to explore! The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Nice for the price
Overall it is a nice place to stay for the price and manageable for a family of 4. As others mentioned the shower is tiny for anyone over 5ft, but manageableand parking is VERY limited. The place could use a deep cleaning (cobwebs, dead bugs in the lights and around window sills, dirt in nooks and crannies). Comfy beds and fans kept us cool. The lake is perfect for small children as it is shallow quite a ways out. I would have liked welcome info with info (I.e. is firewood for all? Garbage day? Where trash goes? Etc). The only check in information we were given was key was on the table and check out info was to leave the door unlocked and key on the table.

Many up dates needed be done. Mold on shower curtain in a bathroom that is too small for an average adult to use comfortably. No area to store extra suitcases & packages except on the bunk beds . Reminded us of 1950"s decor. Posh price at a budget hotel.

Great location!
The location for this cottage is perfect. It's close to everything, from restaurants to Lake Michigan to Traverse City and Leland. The size is good for two people, but would be tight for more. The kitchen was nicely furnished and there was a good TV (we didn't watch) and wifi, which kept going off and on, but guessing that's a location issue. Overall the stay was okay. The down side was that the cottage is tired and pretty dark inside. Most importantly, it needs a really thorough cleaning, including the carpet. While we have owned and stayed in cottages before, there is something about walking into one that has been obviously cleaned well and aired out. If done well, it would make a huge difference in the comfort level of this cottage, and it would have gotten a higher overall rating from us.

Platte Lake Paradise
We had everything we needed for our stay at the cottage. You'll enjoy playing catch and corn hole down the center between the cottages, and of course, beautiful Big Platte Lake. The cottage's location is central to almost everything you could possibly want to do in northwestern Michigan. Our favorites include the Cherry Bowl, Beedazzled, Gwen Frostic's studio, Interlochen, Sleeping Bear Dunes (Pierce Stocking Drive) and Jackleen's Jem's, Crystal Mountain alpine slide, and Crystal Falls Mini Golf and Ice Cream shop. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us Mark and Elisha!

A great vacation!
My first booking on VRBO turned out to be a positive experience. Communication with Chris was excellent. The location was perfect for us. Just two concerns: the use of the toilet was tough due to the lack of leg space. We got through the challenge. The full size mattresses both need to be replaced.
