Luxury Malibu Canyon, Calabasas 1 + 1 Private duplex Guest Unit nestled in beautiful hills, park like atmosphere, with private entrance, pet enclosure and yard, modern great room/kitchen with granite countertop/oak cabinetry, wood floors, new appliances, recessed lighting, skylights, massive brick fireplace; large luxury bathroom and queen bedroom; adjacent to Las Virgenes Recreation Area, with easy access to hiking, biking, minutes to Malibu Beach; off street parking and close freeway access.
The space
4k HD smart TV's in both great room and bedroom, excellent free high speed (300+ mps) WIFI, well equipped full Kitchen with all new appliances, large clean, well equipped modern bathroom with raised shower head (for our taller guest's comfort), central air and heat, massive brick fireplace, private outdoor seating/yard with Weber gas grill and Adirondack wood chairs under a beautiful pergola, completely secure private large pet enclosure/dog run ($25 per pet per night fee, $200 max, $100 min per stay, 2 pet limit) and free laundry facilities and supplies on premises. A very private and quiet home away from home; enjoy a luxury hotel feel with all the amenities of home nestled in beautiful mountainous Malibu Canyon, Calabasas. We had a lovely stay at the property. We did think access to trails would be closer to the property, but it was fine because we were close enough to everything else. It would be nice if there was a table and chairs on the patio, but our stay was focused around visiting with family so this did not impede the visit. Richard made everything very easy for us and the accommodations were very nice. Would recommend this property to others.

Richard’s home was clean and comfortable and was everything I needed. I thought there would be a place to sit outside to look at the mountains, but as it turned out, I was gone from 9 am till at least 8 pm, so there was no need. The house lived up to my expectations. The bed was comfortable. Richard was very good at giving me ideas of where to go in Malibu.

Nice place, right size and location. One suggestion: provide a card with instructions for the TV. The Roku user interface is unlike anything else we’ve had. We’re used to DirecTV. It took a while to figure out how to access the Spectrum TV channels, and the lack of random access is annoying.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Loved staying outside of LA in the Malibu Canyon area with lots of nature around us. The property was nice and the host was great and very helpful. We would love to go back.

This little apartment is in a perfect location with mountains and ocean both a short drive away. Very clean, very safe. Owner on site for check-in, orientation, or if you need anything. Well-appointed, everything I needed for my 4-day stay. Great TV (2 actually). High quality linens. Good bed( brand new actually - it was delivered the day I arrived). I will stay here again when I am in the area. Thanks!

While we were in California to visit our daughters, my husband and I picked Richard’s place to stay. Richard was an excellent host. He met us as we checked in and explained everything we needed to know about the studio. Actually, it was the easiest check-in we’ve had using VRBO. There was excellent communication when we had questions. The place was in a beautiful neighborhood and with updated appliances. It had a place for our dog to go outside that was a fenced in area. I would highly recommend this gem to anyone planning a trip to California.

We enjoyed the location and hospitality of host Richard. He gave us a thorough run down of the suite as well as the area. It was spotlessly clean and well organized. The bed was comfortable and the living/dining area was spacious. The neighborhood was quiet and residential with hiking areas as well as a park and dining a short walk away. A great place to stay and we will be back if we plan another trip in the area.

We visit the area twice a year from NJ to visit our son's family. It is always great when we can find a great place to stay since we can't stay with them. Richard's place fit our needs exactly. Everything we needed was provided and he checked in with us regularly to see if everything was okay with the stay. The kitchen and living area provided plenty of space to relax. We'll certainly consider returning on our next trip to CA.

We enjoyed the hills and downhill run to Malibu. Richard is attentive. Thanks to him for allowing a weekend with our nephew who lives far away from our home. Everything essential was available but we sure appreciated the washer and dryer. A few loads and we were prepped for our cross country trek home. It is obvious why Richard is a premier host.

Richard is a fantastic host. Property was spotless and beautifully appointed. If you want to be near the Santa Monica mountains or Malibu Lake for a wedding (like we were) this is the place to stay. Also easy drive to Malibu Beach. Highly recommend

The absolute best host, very gracious & helpful! He’s thought of everything! I will say that it’s a great location but a bit off the main streets for cheaper Lyfts & Ubers go to the local pizza place for a better pick up location.
