Loved the neighborhood, it was quiet and not far from downtown Portland! Definitely no frills but all the necessities covered. Wayne was very communicative and responsive - would stay again if we headed back East!

The property was exactly as shown in the photos. Very quiet neighborhood close to downtown Portland. I would stay there again.

The location was great - about 15 min drive into Old Port; quiet/safe neighborhood. However, the inside was not great - the table was sticky, there was black hair all over the bathroom floor, shelves and in the bath. The toilet paper was awful and ripped when used. There was no hand soap provided - just a bar of very harsh soap. The bed mattress was awful and we were unable to sleep the entire stay - very uncomfortable and we both left with very sore backs. Won't be rebooking sadly. Its clear the owner has not invested into the space more then "necessary".

My wife and I were in town for a wedding, and the accommodation worked very well for us. The place was clean, quiet, comfortable, and convenient to Portland area attractions. Interactions with the host were straightforward. As others have noted, the kitchen is not well stocked for scratch cooking, but that wasn't a priority for us. I would certainly stay here again if in need of a Portland area accommodation.

This appartment was very well located, in a quiet area with parking space and 10-15mn away from downtown Portland.
Check-in and out was super easy and convenient, with great communication with the host.
The apartment in itself is well equipped, however the kitchen could use a lot more utensils, pots, pans... Etc.
A small outside area could also be enjoyable during the sunny days.
Because the comments were confusing, it is useful to clear up that this is a private apartment on the main floor of a house !
And overall a great place to stay in Portland.

The host communicated well and gave check in instructions on the morning of our arrival. The place was nice and accommodating for 2 adults and 2 kids (1 slept on the couch with a sleeping bag). The kitchen and bath were nice but keep in mind that you'll need to bring any items you'd need if you plan on cooking. There is a full fridge and stove. There is some silverware, mugs, and Keurig pods. There were plenty of towels. Would definitely stay again.

This property was near perfect for our trip. Minutes away from Portland downtown area. Very clean. Neighborhood was friendly and quite. Wayne was very responsive and helpful in the whole process. The one con is the only bathroom is accessed through a bedroom.

Don't be fooled by the description, privacy is not guaranteed there's someone living directly above there's two connecting doors One of them is in the kitchen The other is right by the front door how awkward! If it's not the property owner living directly upstairs from you did it somebody else who's doing a long-term rental up there because their stuff is scattered across the front porch where you enter in, I'm talking piles of kids toys shoes bikes you name it. You would think that they would have their kids keep it organized at least but at least there's a pathway through it to get to the door I suppose.... Definitely does not give you that feeling of privacy. And the person living upstairs whether it be the owner like I said or somebody else is ALWAYS there. I don't even know if they left one time during our stay. My husband and I were trying to enjoy a vacation of privacy and instead what we got was an awkward feeling of being watched and listened to, We didn't even want to walk around the house too much after "quite hours" because the floorboards Creek.
We ended up spending most of our time outside of the house trying to sight see and going on walks And only going back to the house to sleep.
Backyard looked very cute and inviting but there's no access to it from the unit that you're in. And I doubt that you'd be welcomed in it anyway.

Visited an old friend in South Portland and was looking for a very reasonably priced place to sleep two in separate bedrooms overnight on a Sunday. This place came up and the photos tell you what you need to know. My friend and I liked the layout of the place for our privacy. Extremely clean. We were only a short drive from where our friend lived. Communication with owner was helpful and clear.

We put up for a night. The house had all the listed amenities and was easy to find. Great place!

Loved the neighborhood. The unit was very clean and put together. Very quiet and peaceful suburb area and a quick drive to downtown and attractions. Great value!

Overall we enjoyed this rental for an evening! Somehow we thought we had a whole house to ourselves - unsure if I missed that part of the listing or if the listing itself is misleading, but it's helpful to know you'll be staying in the bottom floor of a lived-in home. There is no washer/dryer and very minimal kitchen utensils (keurig and pods, a spatula, and a pan from what I remember). The space was very clean, and the bathroom was spacious. Plenty of bathroom towels available. Had to ask host for information, not much was communicated in advance about check-in.

Myself and two other friends traveled to Portland, ME for a girls weekend. We spend 5 days/4 nights at this location. It was a fantastic getaway with plenty of room for the 3 of us. There was always hot water, the AC was very cold, and the living/dining/kitchen had ample room for us to hang out and visit. Parking was just outside and was just a short drive into the downtown area. FYI FOR OTHERS BOOKING - The bathroom is through the bedroom with a twin bed, so if others need the bathroom in the middle of the night, you may need to sneak through. Also, the kitchen is stocked minimally with supplies (1 pot, 1 pan) so don't plan on cooking anything elaborate. The rail up the 4 stairs outside is a little wobbly and there's a gap from the stairs to porch. My older guest didn't have much trouble but FYI if anyone in your group has balance issues. The full/queen bed had 1 plug behind the bed, so we charged our phones in the kitchen. The host was EXTREMELY responsive to my messages when we needed a couple items and overall, we would definitely stay here again in the future. Very very pleased!

The host:
two days before my stay vrbo sent me an email saying if I have not received entry info I should contact host. I did. The host said he would send needed information morning of my stay. No contact that morning. At noon I called, no response. 1pm I emailed, no response. I later called and emailed - no response.
3 30 p.m. I called Vrbo saying I don’t know if I have a place to stay tonight. They reached out to the host and I finally got a response and the keys, etc..
The place
Clean. New kitchen and bath. An attractive place
The bathroom is off one of the bedrooms, so everyone has to walk through the bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Perfect for our needs. Nothing to complain about here!

Hello,
We stayed for two nights here. It is a really nice little place. It was comfortable and close to downtown Portland. We were able to easily get everywhere that we wanted to go. Wayne was really helpful and easy to contact. Just send him a message and he responds super quick. It is a safe and comfortable place to stay. Would come back again.

We were very dissatisfied with our stay and actually left one day earlier and stayed in a hotel.

Excellent accommodations! Clean and in a great part of the city to drive and see other sites. Host was nice and quick to respond to questions. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay was brief and we were gone a lot during the day, but it was a nice place to come home to. Evening walks on the nearby path were so enjoyable. Cooking supplies were sparse, but that didn't affect our stay. We appreciated the cleanliness of our space, and feeling safe in the neighborhood.

Wayne gave us all the info we needed to make check in and our stay go smoothly. The location is great and the neighborhood is quiet. Property is as described (the kitchen is beautiful!) and the couch is comfy to sleep on if you’re a petite person like me. I would stay again!

Super neat and tidy. Wayne is very responsive to questions and he made the check-in easy, even when my app failed.
Great location in a quiet neighborhood, very conveniently situated with easy access to the rest of Portland. I was about 10 minutes from State and Congress.
The kitchen is clean, up to date, and stocked with the essential coffee machine and dinner service.
There has very good WiFi, and the comfortable living room has Netflix on a nice tv.
The bathroom is oddly placed off the small bedroom, but it shouldn’t be an issue in most cases.
I would definitely go back and will recommend it as an excellent value and great landing spot in Portland.

Great house, gorgeous kitchen, Wayne is one of the most responsive owner's I’ve met

The reason I gave it a four is because it was very clean and quiet. It satisfied my needs, and was what I was looking for when renting the property. I would personally describe it as accommodating, and would recommend it to people in the future.

We came in to run the Maine marathon, and this was a nice place to stay. It was close to the marathon start but still in a quiet neighborhood. It was quaint and clean. The trail to run near the house was a bonus.

My fiancé, my father and I stayed for a long weekend. The place was beautiful and clean. Very close to the action while being far enough away to not be in the middle of traffic and such. My advice is to Uber to downtown. It will save you money for parking. Very close to Hannafords (grocery store) which was a plus. Also, Wayne was quick to reply when we reached out. If we ever go back to Portland we will definitely look to see if we can reserve this space. It was perfect for 3 people ( or less).

It was a perfect stay for a quiet night out in town. Not too far from downtown. I'd definitely stay again!

The property is in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The other person who lived in the house was very quiet too.
We were happy to find a trail at the dead end of street. A Rails to Trail for Mountain bikers and walkers. Also, thrilled to find we were only 5 minute drive to a group of 5 breweries, close to many fabulous restaurants for brunch and a short drive into city of Portland.
The apartment is very clean with a well designed new kitchen and bathroom. The only complaint from us is there is only one bathroom and it's located through the small bedroom. Since there were 3 adults staying there, we had to go through the bedroom at night to use the bedroom. We made it work and the adult in the bedroom said it wasn't as bad as they anticipated. (Meaning their adult parents were very quiet going through the room in the middle of the night.)Perfect place for one couple.

We were pleased with the accommodations, perfect for what we needed it for; nice and clean!
A few small paper goods would have been nice; there were no paper towels/ napkins/ and tissue.
Thank you for having us!

Wayne's place was great for our one night stay in Portland. It's clean and the spaces are nice. Uber trips to the Old Port or Airport will run about fifteen before tip. Kitchen is beautifully done with butcher block countertops. One note, kitchen is very basically stocked, but comments indicate that additional items may be available upon request. We were a one night stay, so this didn't impact us a bit.

Nice
Nice place and nice location. Minimal supplies. Hardly any cookware, no pot holders, no coffee, no basics like salt n pepper. Just an fyi to anyone that cooks.

Close to Portland
This place was close to downtown without the hassle of being right in downtown Portland. 5 mins from all the breweries on industrial way. Place was clean and comfortable. Could use some additions like cleaning products and some more supplies in the kitchen. Just something to keep in mind especially if you're staying several days and want to cook and what not. All in all it was a great place to stay!

Cool house just a short ride from downtown
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this house. Didn't spend a whole lot of time here, but it provided our basic needs. More affordable than booking a place in downtown and really very close to everything.
3.0
Clean and comfortable with potential
On the plus side, Wayne's place was comfortable and clean in a quiet residential neighborhood. However, I had to request check-in information an hour before arrival time. Wayne responded right away, but it was nerve-wracking not to have an address or check-in information earlier. There also wasn't any FAQ-type information in the unit (wifi network and password, instructions for check-out time and procedure, or recommendations). It could also use additional lighting in the bedrooms. With a few upgrades I would rate it higher.

Good location, very sparse
This property was in a nice, quiet neighborhood with downtown Portland very accessible. It was decent in terms of furniture and space, the kitchen was very nice. It was a very sparse property, lacking extra pillows/bedding, very minimal kitchen things, etc. Perhaps I didn’t look closely enough at pictures/descriptions, but the one bathroom is in the room with the smaller bed, where my kids were sleeping - so at night, we couldn’t easily access it without risk of waking them up. Lastly, there was a huge gap in the steps outside and the property itself and my son fell and hurt himself in it. Also - don’t turn around in the neighbors driveway - we got yelled at!
5.0
No problems
The property is excellent, albeit the one bathroom being off the smaller of the two bedrooms. A very minor complaint, however, as it worked out just fine.
