The home is a brand new build from the ground up; purchased, designed and built as a vacation rental. It is a craftsman home nestled in a quiet, old-styled neighborhood just above Downtown and Balboa Park. The neighborhood of Mission Hills is centrally located and has a nice variety of its own unique restaurants and shops that are a pleasant walk away. Bustling Hillcrest, the Gaslamp District, and Little Italy are just minutes away by car. The World Famous Zoo and Sea World are just a few minutes away. Or stay home and enjoy a quiet restful time, with a newly built house that includes a large deck in the back with a view of the lovely wooded canyon and view to San Diego Bay. There is a large barbecue and outdoor dining/seating area, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. You can prepare meals and enjoy a beautiful view of the canyon and bay. This house has three en suite bedrooms with high quality mattresses and linens. The bathrooms are spacious and have beautiful tiles and stone. There are two TVs and Wi-Fi service. Susan and her family live nearby and are ready to help if you need something. Between the home itself, the neighborhood and great location, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful and relaxing home. Close to the convention center downtown, Balboa Park, and Old Town. Lots of restaurants near by. Enjoyed birdwatching off the deck. Kitchen was well stocked. Overall, it was a really nice stay while attending a conference.

My family and I absolutely loved this very beautiful VRBO home. The home has three generously sized bedrooms - each with its own bathroom which is a real plus. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beautiful deck and firepit was a delight for morning coffees and evening relaxation. We had everything we needed in the home and the owner was super responsive. It is also just minutes away from the downtown area and a quick drive to La Jolla and other areas. Great restaurants are nearby. We highly recommend this lovely home!

This is a beautiful home with lovely gardens front and back. Enjoyed hummingbirds and an amazing canyon view from the deck. Even got to see the fireworks on the Fourth. The house is bright and airy and has everything four adults needed for relaxing in a sophisticated yet comfortable space.

We loved this place! We stayed in the owners property next door and loved the location. This is so roomy with plenty of privacy and bathrooms. The outdoor space is wonderful and we got lemons off the tree for our tea. Top notch in cleanliness. Wonderful place and host

We spent 5 nights in this amazing property and it wasn’t nearly enough - everything about it is perfect for a San Diego getaway! The location is amazing - a quiet, beautiful neighborhood which made for great sleeping at night and fun (and safe!) walks every morning. The house is well stocked and absolutely beautifully decorated. Susan even left fresh flowers and fresh lemons - both picked from her beautiful garden - for us to enjoy! We had 3 adult couples so the 3 bedrooms with their own bathrooms was a huge plus. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were huge! We spent every morning and every evening sitting out on the beautiful back deck, enjoying the firepit and taking in the beauty of Susans backyard and surrounding canyon area. Susan was so accommodating and communicative - she made us feel like family. If we are fortunate enough to visit San Diego again, we would definitely return to this property. It was the highlight of our trip and provided an unforgettable experience for our family!

This is a beautiful home in the Mission Hills area of San Diego. It is an amazing new home built with craftsmen style. The home was very clean and well equipped. The deck offers a great view. My family of 5 had plenty of room with the 3 bedrooms. We also loved the kitchen complete with Viking Stove with all the pots, pans, other things you need to make a family meal. We would love to stay there again if our travels take us back to San Diego.

Impeccable house. As described in the listing. Actually better than the listing. Susan (the Host) is being modest. Beautifully appointed house. Three full bedrooms, each with own attached bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen, open floor plan into dining and living rooms. Living room and master bedroom have full glass doors accessing the deck. Off street driveway parking. Central cooling. House is central to all. Ten minutes to downtown San Diego. And lest we forget, a super responsive host! The best. You will not be disappointed in your stay.

This home is lovely inside and out. Its done in a craftsman style with beautiful finishes and we loved every minute we were there. The finishes are high end, it is well stocked, spacious, and the whole house is meticulously clean. Every bedroom (comfortable beds!) has it's own bathroom. The host is wonderful, has fantastic communication, and obviously has put a lot of effort and love into this property. The road is a little busy with cars, walkers and bicycles, but inside is so peaceful and quiet, and the deck off the back is huge and you would never know you were in a large city. This has been one of our top VRBO stays! Thanks Susan!

We stayed here 6/8-6-12. It was the perfect location to the attractions we went to, SeaWorld, Zoo, Belmont Park. It was also only a half hour to Legoland. It was also only minutes to the airport and downtown. The house itself is great, nice floor plan, great kitchen, bathrooms, and has everything you need. Thank you Susan, we won’t hesitate to recommend and/or stay at your place again when we return to San Diego.

Our family stayed in this beautiful, well-appointed home for six nights. Mission Hills is a wonderful neighborhood with a coffee shop and many restaurants within walking distance. The beds are comfortable and each bedroom having its own bathroom is a huge bonus. The deck is amazing: listening to birds in the morning and relaxing by the fire at night.

This house is quite simply gorgeous. Beautifully decorated, spacious and well appointed; it was perfect for our multi generational getaway to San Diego. My husband and parents loved sitting on the deck in the morning and listening to the birds, and the large dining table was perfect for the six of us to enjoy evening meals together. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in March 2023 and had a great experience. The house is exactly as pictured and the views from the deck are fantastic. There were many good restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and the neighborhood felt very safe. This house is not your typical rental - the finishes and furnishings are all very high quality and we appreciated small details like fresh flowers.

This home was ours for 5 days and it was perfect for us. There were 6 adults (3 couples). Each bedroom has its own bathroom which is nice. We cooked many meals together and sat out on the deck overlooking a verdant canyon. We took full advantage of the gas fire pit, as the weather was cold for San Diego. We liked being near everything San Diego has to offer. Will definitely be back!

We booked a return trip before we departed! There was not one thing we would have changed about our stay at this award winning craftsman style home. The house is full of character and charm, and at the same time is spotless and thoughtfully constructed. The landscaping and interior design were welcoming and had a “feng shui” energy. The appliances are new, and the filtered drinking water was a huge bonus. The area is quiet and the vast canyon views are lovely. The location is perfect for exploring the area surrounding San Diego. We enjoyed the walkable neighborhood with several coffee shops, great restaurants, grocery stores, and yoga studios. Our host Susan was delightful, gracious, and always available to help.

We enjoyed being just a couple blocks away from the park, multiple coffee shops, and best of all just a couple blocks to walk to our daughter’s house. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the canyon, which captured beautiful sunrises when we were there. It felt comfortable as our home away from home!

This was such a great house and Susan was a wonderful host. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s comfortable, functional and just a joy to be in. The beds are great, the art on the walls is beautiful and the kitchen had all the necessities which we really appreciated. We cooked and used the deck constantly. The neighborhood is nice and there are grocery stores nearby. Everything we did like La Jolla and even Encinitas were just 15-30 minutes away. Highly recommend this house and would absolutely rent again if ever in the area. Thanks Susan!

Susan’s home was fantastic. It’s a perfect set up with an en-suite bathroom for all 3 bedrooms. It’s a beautiful home and everything is tastefully done. It really felt like vacation - especially with the awesome outdoor deck and the beautiful landscaping. It was spotless and every drawer was clean and organized - you can tell they really care about this home and their guests. I would stay here again in a second. One of the very best rentals we have ever done and we are really picky!

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay at this home. It is newly built and has all modern features and amenities. We spent many hours on the deck under the pergola admiring the views (rainbow, full moon and gorgeous sunsets). The home is has everything we could need during an 8 day stay. It is less than .5 miles from many charming restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is safe and walkable even for people with some mobility issues. We would definitely visit again.

It is a beautiful house tastefully decorated that felt more spacious than the pictures showed. 30 minutes from Legoland, 25 minutes from Coronado beach, in a nice and quite neighborhood. 3 rooms all with access to own beautiful bathrooms. The outdoor propane fire pit table was great; we used it a couple of times and sat by the fire with my boys for story time. Home AC and ceiling fans in every room made for a comfortable stay. Susan met us upon arrival and showed us around the house, and was quickly available for any inquiry. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is beautifully decorated and the floor plan and outside space are very open and welcoming. This was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Great location and easy to get to restaurants and the beach. Host was very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to renting this house again.
