The cottage on Bomoseen was just what we needed for a break from Texas heat. Sandy and Dave were great hosts and gave us good tips on area restaurants. Wi-Fi was superb and since we were working and playing that helped make for a nice balance. The area is remote so plan on driving a lot. We enjoyed the views, being by the water and fishing. Hope to get back up there again sometime in the future.

Sandy and Dave were wonderful hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed and encouraged us to take advantage of the kayaks and lakeside patio. Check-in was so easy and being inside a gated property we didn’t have to worry about leaving things in our car overnight. We will definitely be back. Thanks for having us

This house was perfect for us and had a fully functioning kitchen. It has a fold out couch bed that’s very comfortable and they have sheets and comforters available. We really liked everything and the heated bathroom helped in the cold weather.

Stayed for 3 nights in October. Home in a quiet neighborhood with partial water views. Cottage was spacious, had plenty of towels, kitchen supplies and toiletries. Nicely decorated with a comfortable bed. Cleaning service did a great job the home was spotless. It was a little late to enjoy the lake but I bet its great in the summer. Skiing was not to far away and great for fall colors. Communication with the owners was very quick. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful time in Castleton. We went to the last day of the Vermont State Fair in Rutland. This cottage is a short and pleasant walk on dirt roads to Crystal Beach Park. This beach is wonderful for children as it has direct access to a beach/sand/swim area. The beach has picnic benches and bathroom facilities. There are two readily available restaurants nearby. The property is dog-friendly. There is a dock to launch your kayak. The porch has a view of the lake. The cottage is clean, compact and full of all the amenities you need including a washer and dryer. The pull-out couch was comfortable too. You feel very safe in this gated main house and cottage setting.

This cottage is a perfect spot for a couple or a single. The owners, who live on the property, are gracious and charming and willing to help with any problems. The cottage itself is comfortably furnished with a fully equipped modern kitchen, a lovely full bath enhanced by overhead heat and a heated towel rack, and a large washer and dryer. I do think the “two bedroom”classification is misleading since there is one bedroom (very comfortable with great closet space) and a pullout couch in the living room, but the full description is accurate. Unfortunately, because of weather, I was unable to invite my family to sit at the lovely setup by the water and view a sunset over the lake. There doesn’t seem to be a thing these owners have overlooked for giving their tenants a perfect stay. I would happily come back again.

Sweet little cottage, clean and well stocked. Great outdoor seating around a fire pit down near the water.

My wife and I, and our chocolate lab Tully, had a wonderful stay. Great little cottage, well appointed, views of the lake. The neighborhood was a perfect little spot for casual walks with the dog, and was within easy walking distance to the local beach and park area. Sandy and Dave were great hosts, friendly and accommodating, allowed us the use of their kayaks, welcoming to our friends who came over for a visit. We would certainly stay there again on our next visit to the area.

Incredible experience
Sandy, her husband, and Pico (their 2-year old golden retriever) were wonderful hosts. We arrived to see how clean and spacious the cottage was. Soon after, Sandy greeted us with Prosecco and 2 special, crystal glasses. When you work long hours and finally get away, this is so special. Our black lab, Hank, was not only welcome but made to feel like a star guest. He played in the lake and all around the safe, gated property with Pico. In all of our stays in New England over the last 18 years, our dogs have been tolerated but never had the experience Hank did this past week. We launched our boat at a neighborhood location and spent 3 great days on the lake. We will have memories of Bomoseen for years to come thanks to Sandy and family.

Small guesthouse exactly as described
Sufficient guesthouse for three adults (could probably also fit two adults + 2 kids on pull out couch.) Plenty of kitchen utensils, towels, linens. We appreciated the towel warmer and heater in the bathroom and the washer/dryer. 40-min drive to Okemo (1 hr when driving more slowly during snow.) Communication with owner was exceptional. There is only seating for two, or two table + two counter seats, but we made do with eating around the coffee table. The only issue we had was no internet, which was due to a storm earlier in the week. The owner called their internet provider several times and eventually credited us, because they weren’t able to fix before we left. Without wifi the cell/data service in the area is existent but weak.

Wonderfully perfect private guest house
We (+ our dog) had a lovely time at this guesthouse with beautiful views of the frozen lake and surrounding hills during the winter! It's the perfect gateway for a couple with a dog. It is conveniently located to all of Vermont's great outdoors and we had an easy time traveling to Okemo for skiing with and without snow (~40-50 minute drive). Sandra and her husband were very welcoming, attentive, and responsive throughout our stay. The house was very well-kept and clean. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances, making cooking easy! If you come in the winter, I suggest bringing a four-wheel drive vehicle or snow tires if you can! Our two-wheel drive sedans struggled a bit in the snow post-snow storm with the steep driveway, but Sandra was readily available and able to help us get the snow cleared out and our cars back up the hill incredibly quickly. We will definitely come back!

Great lake house.
We had a nice getaway for a long weekend at the lake house. The owners were very kind and have a beautiful place. We were able to boat, bike, fish, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, and go out to eat.

Wonderful Vacation Cottage
Cottage was steps from beautiful Lake Bomoseen and hosts made us most welcome, and most generous for giving us a boat tour of the lake.
They loved our little dog, Daisy, and we loved having companions for Daisy with their two Golden Retrievers.
Cottage was spotless, a well equipped kitchen , and some moments of enjoying their air conditioning at mid day during
a heat spell.
During the past week of critical news events, we wished we were more technologically knowledgeable in using the TV Roku programming.
Area is terrific for sightseeing, including our visits to Lake Champlain’s Hudson River channel Lock #12, the rich history of Ft. Ticonderoga and Fort Defiance, and the
thrill visiting the now green ski slopes of Killington which soon will be covered in a blanket of snow.

Three awesome weeks!!
Sandy, Dave, their dogs Pico & Dylon are the best VRBO hosts we have ever.
All questions were answered immediately. We felt right at home and very comfortable.
Our dog Tank made new friends with Pico &. Dylon. Playing and swimming together.
We brought our boat and used their dock, it was great to jump in and take our daughter & granddaughter out tubing & fishing.
