About this cabin rental
A unique vacation experience awaits on this private 40 acre retreat. The property borders Lake Catherine, with 2000 feet of private shoreline, woods, creeks and trails to explore. This family friendly property is yours to explore and enjoy. The lake is just down the hill from the cabin. There are picnic areas, fire pits, hammocks and “quiet spots” with benches for rest and relaxation. Kayaks, paddle boards and a peddle boats are provided for your use. Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, walking, wildlife viewing and picnics on your own retreat. Indoor and outdoor games provided.
The cabin is designed and decorated to help you relax. It features 2 bedrooms with king beds as well as a sleeping loft with a full bed. (The sleeping loft is ideal for kids age 5 and up.) Two full size futons in the living room for additional sleeping space.
The full bath has plush towels with soap and shampoo provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and utensils. It has a dishwasher, electric range and oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. A charcoal grill and picnic area is just outside. The natural pine wood walls help create a warm and cozy environment.
The house is air conditioned, heated and also has an all-season fireplace. The large deck has plenty of seating for outdoor relaxing or enjoying a morning cup of coffee with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and woods. Television with satellite in the living area. Games, books, movies and a Blu-ray player are available for your enjoyment.
The lake, and property are home to numerous birds and other wildlife. Deer, squirrels, chipmunks and all birds native to the area are routinely seen around the property. We regularly see Bald Eagles! Listen for their high pitched call when you are outside. Geese and ducks are seen daily on the water or flying overhead. There is a wide array of plant life on the property, from the hardwood forests to the wetland areas. In season, enjoy picking wild blackberries, blueberries and muscadines! Don't miss "Big Pine point", and one of the largest pine trees in the state.
The Hideaway Cabin at Lakeside Memories is a great place for adventure and exploration or a place to get away and relax.
Feel free to bring your boat and use the boat dock. Beach towels, Life jackets and lake toys are provided.
Firewood is provided.
The cabin doesn't have Wi-Fi. We like to suggest a better connection. Connect with your family and friends, nature or maybe yourself. This is a great place to unplug and relax. (There is good cell reception and your hotspot will work if needed.).
What to Bring:
Flashlight, good walking shoes, lake shoes, bottled water, paper plates
Ice chest, ice, something for the grill, charcoal, lighter fluid. Fishing gear.
FYI: Lakes Catherine and Hamilton have a "winter drawdown". Months of November - through March 15 of following year, the lake levels are lowered. You can still boat and use kayaks etc. but be aware of the change in lake level.

The place was clean and had most of what you would ever need. Having the lake toys was great but they could use a little upkeep. The dock was amazing and we spent a lot of time swim and hanging out there. The grill was great and so was the hot tub. Our only complaint would be that it wasn't clear that it was a shared property so one time we went to use the water toys, the other cabin people were there. Having said that we would definitely come here again it was so nice to feel away from everything but still be close if you want to go do something.

The cabin was amazing. Super clean and stocked with everything we needed to cook. Lori was a wonderful host and made sure we were situated. It’s a little way to the lake but it’s worth it, i spent most of my time swimming and using the water toys. There were hammocks in the trail for those that love to sleep or read. To be honest Lori and Mark have a little piece of paradise near the City.

We had a great time on the lake. We enjoyed the paddle boat, paddle boards, and kayaks. We even caught enough fish to feed everyone. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

We had a wonderful relaxing time at the lake house. It was a beautiful place. Super peaceful and comfortable. We drove down the hill to kayak and fish and just relax in the outdoor chairs provided. We also hiked a trail and enjoyed the scenery. We also enjoyed the short drive to the state park and did more fishing and hiking. We spent some time in hot springs and enjoyed going to bathhouse row, Books-million, and some flea markets as well as some other places. I would definitely recommend this place.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. We loved the location. Close to town, but still felt very private and secluded. It was wonderful being surrounded by nature. We enjoyed the kayaks and being to close to the lake. The house was the cleanest rental we've ever stayed in. We would definitely stay here again.

Family of 4 kids and 2 adults and we all had a great time.
Fire wood was perfect! Hot tub enjoyed by the whole family. Everyone caught fish “all on worms” so make sure to bring enough, the fish keep the kids busy. And kids keep me busy unhooking what they caught! Kids enjoyed kayaking and paddle boat. We all had a great weekend much needed!

The owner was so thoughtful. From house toys, movies, water toys, swimming, kayaks, paddle boat, hammocks, and just the beautiful area let alone the awesome cabin we were not disappointed. We had an amazing experience as a family. The children had so much to do. I’m amazed at the attention to detail. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime! Nice quiet time in the woods. Would love to come back.

This place was perfect for our needs. It was fully stocked, even in the bathrooms. We only used the main bedroom and the bed was so comfortable. The hot tub was just what our tired and achy bodies needed also! We ate junk food and watched junk tv and just relaxed!

We love a 'vacation' away from home - not just another house. This was a beautiful 'cabin' away from home!! So so fun! We took use of all the amenities.
Back patio overlooking the woods
HOT TUB!! - kids tried for 10 minutes and loved it
Kids loved the loft!
Kitchen stocked with all pots pans we needed
Fridge had a spring water container
PLENTY of towels for our family of 5 ❤️
Little fireplace in the living room was cozy when sitting next to it.
AC/heat unit has to be all on same mode to work (just read instructions and it was clear)
Everything was well labeled for easy access
Steep drive down to the lake
Did the paddle boats and lifejackets
Boys played Seinfeld Monopoly
small cozy cabin. If you prefer to watch TV on vacay put the kiddos in a room and sleep in the loft - but we loved the disconnect!

This place was amazing!

Loved the secluded setup with access to all things cabin and camping. Well built, plenty of room, very good accommodations. Would suggest bringing a vehicle with a little torque, some of the hill climbs can be tricky.
4.8
Enjoyed being secluded but also close to everything. The kids loved the kayaks and paddle boards.
4.8
Every thing was wonderful except that we were expecting the lake to be closer. We had two older people that couldn’t make the walk down the road. It was two steep and rocky

We stayed for 5 nights July 2023. The cabin was just as described. The hike back from lake was a little steep. We had a great time. We had a lot of fun in the private cove with paddle boards and kayaks.
4.8
We enjoyed paddle boating and a fire roasting marshmallows. Not far from town which was nice. The host were so helpful and everything was so convenient.
4.8
We really enjoyed the cabin and all of the amenities! We highly recommend staying here! We will definitely look them up again if we come back to the Hot Springs area!😊

Very pleasant stay. The weather was very hot so we didn’t use the fire pit but we enjoyed the swimming in the lake.
I would recommend this place.
Quiet, private, pleasant

We were looking for a place to relax and recharge with our family and this cabin was perfect!! We loved the hammocks scattered along the trails and all the great water toys. Morning paddle boards were awesome! The cabin had everything we needed…comfy beds, all the things for making meals together, plenty of towels, etc. We loved having our morning coffee on the deck and evening cocktails around the fire pit while watching dozens of fireflies every night. We truly never would have needed to leave but when we did almost everything was only 15 minutes away…waterfall hikes, Garvan Gardens, boat rentals, putt putt, downtown Hot Springs.
It’s absolutely a perfect little piece of secluded heaven just minutes away from all the area attractions!
The hosts are very responsive and helpful and we felt like they really cared about us having a great vacation.

Overall our stay was very nice i woild stay again.
4.8
Overall a great stay. Just as an FYI—there’s no Wifi, but we had 2-3 bars of cell service with no problems. Well stocked with linens and the like.
4.8
The cabin and private acreage made our stay all the more enjoyable during our visit to Hot Springs. Everything from the privacy, gated entrance, beautiful wooded areas, private use kayaks / paddle boards / paddle boats, firewood provided with s’mores, comfortable beds, and an overall clean cabin environment earns a 5 out of 5!!!
