Welcome to the Nordic Hearth Cottage, a charming, historic three bedroom log home! This beautiful getaway with newly restored fireplace is set on an acre of land on Townline Drive, equidistant from the villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay, and right in the heart of Door County. Find shopping, restaurants, galleries, and a spa within steps of Nordic Hearth Cottage. By car, our central location on the peninsula puts our guests only minutes away from beaches, wineries, trolley tours, dozens of outdoor activities, and the breathtaking scenery that Door County has to offer!
Full of natural light and whimsical Scandinavian touches, this cozy cottage combines old world charm with all the comforts of home. Towels and bed linens are provided, and the newly remodeled bathroom is stocked with bar soap, toilet paper, and a hair dryer. Each of the bedrooms has a dresser and spacious closet, so unpack and make yourself at home! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve home-cooked meals, and the open dining concept makes the space perfect for family gatherings. Stock up on groceries from the Piggly Wiggly just two miles from the cottage in Sister Bay, and help yourself to the tea and coffee we’ve already provided!
Nordic Hearth is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away from it all. Get comfy in the living room and browse satellite TV channels (or Chromecast ) or spend quiet time in the sunroom, (enjoy fantastic views of the sunrise/sunset!!), get lost in a book; or take in the beautiful surroundings as you lounge on the deck. The property’s large yard is the perfect place to make the most of Door County summer nights and stargaze away from city lights. Or, if you visit us in the winter, spend your evenings cozied up by the wood-burning stone fireplace- newly renovated. We also provide books, DVDs, and board games for rainy days. Beautiful cottage perfect location. Well equipped kitchen. Loved the outdoor fire pit and the sunroom in the house. We really enjoyed our stay. Need to be aware there are no A/C vents in the upstair bedrooms and it can get very hot in the summer. Not sure this was on the listing. The last night it got so hot upstairs window upstairs had to be opened. The only other issue was the master bed broke where the laminated railing connected to a metal bracket that fit in a slot in the railing. Called owner and advised it broke when my wife and I first got into bed to read.

Julia’s cottage is truly the coziest and cutest property we have stayed at in Door County! It is very accommodating for families, especially ones with young children! It’s in a perfect location and Julia was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!

Julia was a fantastic host and we loved the property! The cottage was so cute and had an extremely well stocked kitchen. We loved the personal touch of fresh flowers in the rooms as well! Everything was wonderful with our stay and we would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to explore door county.

We absolutely loved staying at the cottage! My wife, son, and I enjoyed the cozy fireplace, and the place had everything we needed! The cottage is beautiful and well maintained. It is in a great location to access the state parks and the hosts were wonderful! We will definitely return! Thank you!

Very nice house that was perfect for a relaxing family weekend in Door County. The house has a lot of historic charm, is very well decorated, and has a nicely updated bathroom and kitchen. You will feel right at home. Host is very responsive.

The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated! Julia left clear and easy to follow check-in and check-out instructions. The cottage is located in the heart of Door County, so we were able to explore the downtown areas of several towns, rent bikes, and go hiking, all without spending a lot of time in the car. We had the best time and hope to be back!

We enjoyed our first stay in DC in this home. The home was fully equipped with all the essentials, was clean, and in a great location close to many attractions but far enough that it was quiet and pleasant. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night . Julia was very responsive and nice. Recommend this place especially for families with young children.

This house was a wonderful place to stay with my sister and our kids. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything you would need, house was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch each morning, it was fun to see the hummingbirds eating from the feeder. We enjoyed bonfires and star gazing at night. The neighborhood was quiet but close to a few fun things (mini golf, shops, farmers market). I’d stay again!

This property was in a great location- just minutes to both downtown Ephraim & Sister Bay! The home was more charming in person than the photos show. We loved the live plants and fresh wildflowers placed throughout the home. The kitchen was well-equipped & the bathroom had plenty of towels for our group of 6. Our only (mild) problem was the lack of A/C ventilation upstairs so the upstairs bedrooms would stay toasty while the downstairs very cool. Also will note that the stairway going to the upstairs was a little bit steep for older people and tall people will have to duck at the bottom to avoid hitting their head. Overall we had a great time & would stay here again!

Perfect place to stay out of the way of the busy parts of DC. Rented it for our wedding weekend, and was perfect for everything from hosting guests to taking beautiful photos both in and outside. Julia is the best host in DC and ensures everything is perfect and goes smoothly.

This cozy cottage was tucked away in a quiet location yet very close to the Sister Bay and Ephiram on the bay side and Bailey's Harbor on the lakeside. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and access to an outdoor grill and firepit made for a nice way to wind down on a chilly evening. Julia, our host, contacted us a day before arrival with detailed arrival and departure information and was very accomodating.. We hope to stay again!

My family has been coming up to Door County for as long as I can remember and it never disappoints - neither will this well maintained, charming , centrally located cottage. Our family had a fantastic stay at this property! It was clean, spacious for our large family and the perfect location for exploring the many activities in Door County. We booked three nights for a quick getaway with our family of four. My mother had a little mishap and so we asked my parents to join. The place was perfect for all of us, and was especially conducive for my parents, who have limited mobility. Having the main bedroom on the first floor, it was perfect for their needs. The location was ideal, being between Ephraim and Sister Bay, but it felt away from everything which was great for just relaxing and enjoying the perfect days/nights that we were fortunate to experience. We would jump at the opportunity to be welcomed back to this amazing property.

My husband and I, along with our 2 adult children and their partners were guests of Julia for a week. The curated cabin provides ample gathering spaces (indoor and outdoor) and 3 large bedrooms for privacy. The location is perfect- just off the hwy in Ephraim and Sister Bay is a few minutes away. The property feels very secluded and rural- the crowing rooster we heard a few times added to the charm. Somethings to consider: there is only 1 bathroom (not an issue for our group) and no washer/dryer (Julia offered to wash a load of towels for us). We are already planning our next stay at the Nordic Cabin.

This was our first time visiting Door County. Julia’s property was the perfect spot for our family to enjoy our adventures. Julia was very responsive with check-in/out information. The cottage is located off the busy path, but very close to everything you will want to do in DC. If you choose to relax and refresh @ the cottage, you will not be disappointed.
