Our extended family and dear friends gathered in this lovely and warm home for a long weekend – 7 adults + 5 kids under 7. We had a blast. The house was well equipped and perfect with lots of nooks and crannies for kids to explore, which was important since we were delighted by 28 inches of snow on our first night. The owners are helpful and made the experience wonderful for everyone! Our little kids have not stopped talking about our magical weekend.

Beautiful house with lots of character. The house was very clean and a short drive to Stratton. Plenty of space for multiple families. The only issues were some uneven heating (some rooms would get too hot/cold) and the oven got way hotter than indicated for baking.

Quintessential Vermont ski house perfect for family getaways in the Stratton/Bromley mountain area. Great kitchen, 2 huge living areas, pool table, fireplace… all so enjoyable. We will plan to stay again!

We had a really nice weekend at the Bear House - very spacious yet cozy home, great views, and great location. The temperature was too cold when we arrived, but the owners quickly reached out on how best to heat up the home and we were fine after that. Would stay again!

This is a lovely house. Great shape; pretty much just like the pictures in the photos.
There were 16 of us in our group, and there was room for everyone.
I read in previous reviews that some people were hot here. We didn't have this problem at all. It was 85 during the day, but it was cool at night so there was no issue.
We had a wonderful time at this fantastic house.

Great family week at the Bear Ski House!
We had a great family vacation to celebrate my Mom's birthday!
To start: the owners are 5 stars. Very helpful and accommodating when we needed to communicate or get help.
The good: we had a great time! There were 14 of us total, ranging in age from 1 to 80. There was plenty of room, and the kitchen (in particular) was fully functional and had everything we needed. The location is great - convenient to lots of towns and attractions. The bedrooms/beds were all very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were busy, but also clean and fully functional.
The not-as-great: this house gets hot (really hot) in the summer. The owners provide many upright fans, and several of the windows have screens, but the upper floors of the house retain heat in the summer. We gave my parents (70+) the master bedroom, but the (only) air conditioner wasn't working, so their room stayed pretty warm until the middle of the night. The trash situation is also interesting, due to the raccoons. The trash must be kept in large cans a utility room (not in the house), but after a hot week in July ...
Like all rentals, if the prior group leaves the house in rough shape, it can be difficult for the owners and their helpers to turn it over effectively/completely. This was the case for us: lots of leftover food/beers in one of the refrigerators, broken chair(s) by the firepit, grill had to be repaired. In every case, the owners and caretaker did their best to address the issues quickly.
Overall, it's a very nice house for a group, and the owners are very helpful and responsive. I would likely stay here again ... just during cooler months :)

Wonderful long weekend away in the summer
Booked this house with a group of friends during 4th of July weekend. The property is really wonderful, spacious, and has everything one needs. Our group cooked for every meal and the kitchen was well equipped, appliances were nice, and the grill was great too. Additionally, I am very particular about beds and normally struggle with them in rentals, but immediately rested comfortably here.
We were worried at first coming in here without AC, but it was totally fine. The first day we were there it was 92F outside and we were able to comfortably enjoy the lower living room during the hottest part of the day and then moved upstairs in the evening. There are also fans in every room, which was very helpful.
We ran into some snags with the house at first, but owners were immediately and constantly responsive even though it was a holiday weekend--we appreciate that very much. Everyone in my group would absolutely rent this house again.

Gorgeous
Everything about this stay was perfect! We had such an easy check in and Kerrin was so easy to get ahold of. Construction was underway when we first arrived but everyone was super friendly and we had a great weekend. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

Nice, large ski house close to Stratton
Very nice, clean, good sized ski house 3 1/2 miles from Stratton. Comfortable and cozy for a large group. Large stone fireplace, pool table, large living rooms and dining room. I would only note that the two lofts are very small and accessible only by ladder.

PERFECT VERMONT SKI HOUSE GETAWAY
My family including my young adult daughters and several of their friends spent three days at this beautiful house, conveniently located on the access road to Stratton as well as businesses at the bottom of the mountain. The home offers amazing amenities - cozy fireplace area, place for storing ski gear, large modern kitchen and dining area, huge great room with TV, billiards room and plenty of bedrooms ( including amazing spa like master bedroom with huge picture window and beautiful view of the mountains) and plenty of bathrooms. The decor is like a ski house movie set and everything is comfy/cozy - couches, chairs, throw blankets, etc. We absolutely loved it and never felt the need to eat out .. just hung out before and apres ski enjoying the whole ambience. Highly recommend for groups and families with adult as well as young children - the loft bedrooms accessed by ladder are super cool.
