We have always been in love with the Smoky Mountains and would travel to TN any chance we got. This cabin is large and spacious, while keeping a cozy and relaxing feel, full of character. This cabin is our primary vacation home and gathering place for our entire extended family during the holidays, so we keep it as home-y, comfortable and convenient as possible.
When you visit, you will notice the thought that went into the organization and furnishings of the place. The cabin is in a quiet, secluded area so we tried to keep it as equipped as possible. We used the highest quality of pillows, linens and bedsheets, and also ensured that there are enough storage spaces for your stuff when you visit whether it’s a short or an extended stay.
The entire cabin is made of cedar wood and this gives it an uncanny character and we used rustic décor throughout to match. It is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway, a family vacation or for travelling with a large group of friends. The downstairs game room has a regulation sized Olhausen slate pool table and there is a hammock and a hot tub in the back deck. As an icing on the cake, you will get a piece of Lake Douglas and with a boat ramp. Side note, the lake is artificially dried up in late October and rehydrated by April for the rest of the year.

My family and I stayed at this lovely cabin, it’s so big and cozy. Many board games we enjoyed and also a spacious pool table room. We loved the fire pit and the hot tub. the service and quick response of our host was great. I highly recommend this vacation home.

We were looking for a Spring Break to unplug from our devices and the “real world” for a week and this cabin was just what we needed! Our kids enjoyed building a fire in the fire pit each night and sitting around the fire eating smores. The hot tub was a hit and I enjoyed lounging in the hammock right next to it while the family played. Great experience - thanks again!

We enjoyed the cabin and took in all the amenities fire pit, board games, hot tub, and pool table. The location and area is away from the traffic. We would love to come up again to take in fishing at the lake when it is higher. This was a quick car show trip with the family. The cabin space was great and highly recommend.

We loved the location and the access to the water. We had plenty of room to park our four vehicles and two boats. We would definitely come here again. Our only complaint was the beds were uncomfortable. We would love to see the owners get their own dock as well. Other than that, everything was great!

We loved the location. Short walk to the water. We rented a pontoon and jetskis, the family had so much fun. The home fit all of our needs and was completely comfortable and pleasant to hang out in. Everyone enjoyed the gathering.

Beautiful home!
Alphonso was a great communicator and very responsive! The home is beautiful and it was a relaxing stay. We had 6 adults and 2 kids in our group and everyone felt comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked and the check-in/check-out process was easy. We would love to stay again!

Beautiful view, loves the clear instructions posted around the house. Had everything thing we needed to enjoy our stay. Loved that it was so close to everything. Plus the lake was fun way to spend the day.

Lovely but Not on the Lake, no grab bars or ice maker.
This property did not meet our needs. While the listing and subsequent information provided by the owner were not mistruths, they were certainly misleading.
One of our party uses a wheelchair, and two others have mobility issues. The listing shows a Wheelchair Accessible symbol. and accessible under features.
There is a ramp. But, it is so steep, only a power chair would be able to use it without considerable assistance.
We were told that we’d be able to access the fire pit area and door to the basement gameroom by just going down the slope beside the house. The house is built on a ridge with a steep dropoff to the road below. Navigating the yard is difficult for those without mobility issues. It is not remotely feasible for a wheelchair.
The biggest disappointment was the fact that this property is listed as a lake house. It is not. There is a spot at the end of the steep, partially washed out, gravel drive that is across a hairpin curve in the road and beyond a padlocked chain which provides access to the lake. There is a private dock there which you’re not allowed to use. Otherwise, there’s a cement boat ramp that goes into the water, and that’s it.
The main photo of this listing shows two chairs sitting next to the lovely lake. It makes you think you can see that from the cabin. Like you’ll stroll there with your morning coffee and watch the water as you welcome the new day. That’s not gonna happen. If you do manage to stumble your way down to that lake access, those chairs aren’t there. And your coffee would be cold. It’s a good football field length from the cabin.
The unfortunate thing is, if the property were listed for what it is…. it would better serve the guests that book it. The cabin is really nice. It’s well-stocked with games, kitchenware including an air fryer and juicer, a pool table and a good hot tub. Technically, it sleeps 10 on beds, 3 double beds and 4 twins (2 of which are cots). There’s plenty of floor space to insert your own air beds if you want. Admittedly, it could be better stocked with paper products. Especially given the fact that you’re 20 minutes from the nearest store if the one spare roll of TP in each bathroom proves inadequate during your weeklong retreat with a dozen humans.
If we’d have been looking for a remote cabin for a group retreat, this might’ve met that need. But, we specifically booked a Lakeshore retreat and this is not that.

Spring Break Getaway
We took our daughter and her friends to the mountains for spring break. Our cabin was beautiful and the girls had a great time! We had so much fun hanging out at the cabin....sitting in the hot tub while it snowed and making s’mores by the fire pit!
