About this cottage rental
Glamping on a small private island with panoramic views of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean and your own sandy beach (a rarity in the Keys) is a special experience for fishermen, bird watchers, and nature lovers.
Glamping means different things to different people – from a nice tent in the woods with a shared bathroom to a an canvas palace in Africa. Our Floridian definition is a whitewashed cabin perched on a high platform with some pink, blue or green accents, an outdoor shower, and a couple of simple private indoor bathrooms and a basic kitchen. Being Florida, we of course need air conditioning. But what sets us apart is the location in the uncrowded middle Keys, the nature, and yes… that turquoise water in every direction.
Our island is a unique paradise, surrounded by swimmable ocean, fishing spots, and a nature walk along our peninsula that juts out further into the ocean and leads to a dolphin pool (former home to Flipper!) Our island is separated from the Overseas Highway by a private causeway, offering an exclusive experience. We have kayaks and paddle boards for you to explore the calm reef-protected waters surrounding the island. You will also have a fresh-water swimming pool, a boat basin, and a boat launch.
Our Little Conch Island is not just a secluded paradise, but also conveniently located. It's a short distance from the Marathon Airport, the Dolphin Research Center, a water skiing facility, and the numerous restaurants, grocery stores, and gift shops between Marathon and Islamorada. A bike path is just over our causeway, the 7-mile Bridge is 20 minutes away, and Key West is just over an hour away.
The Florida Keys is a magical place with some of the best fishing, boating, and reef diving anywhere in the world. The glamping cabins of Little Conch Key are the perfect place from which to explore – being near everything you would want, yet a world away.
Our property is a beautiful destination and professionally managed by Casa Luxora. This ensures that your stay will be smooth and enjoyable, allowing you to focus on the beauty and tranquility of our island, and the surrounding waters and nature.

The property is isolated and serene. We used to come when it was Conch Key Cottages and thought it had been destroyed.
The property has 5 houses and was the most quiet and serene experience ever! Private beach with clear water and more than adequate pool. We were the only ones at the pool.
It’s classic old school, spartan Keys living with character. It’s not modernized, but we weren’t looking for that. Don’t expect the Four Seasons, but if you want peace and quiet, this is it!

I don’t usually leave bad reviews. I drove 5 hours to marathon to stay at this place with my 7 month old baby and my best friend with her 9 year old daughter for a week. I come to Marathon every couple of years and have been coming here since I was a kid. I’ve booked with VRBO several times and never had issues. We arrived on the property and the ac was not working, ac vents had mold around them, kitchen sink and ran scolding hot water, dishes were dirty, everything was moist and smelled like mildew due to no ac. Called the property manager and within 2 hours a maintenance guy came, baby was crying and so was my friends daughter. There was no way we could stay. We left at 8 pm and drove another 5 hours home. I got 1800$ back and lost around 600$? Told it was VRBO fees but still haven’t received a receipt even though I’ve been told I would see proof. Either way, everything about this situation was TERRIBLE!

We are from NC and have friends in Miami and rented this place to get together after a couple of years of not seeing each other. The plan, to do NOTHING except relax at the pool. When we arrived,( and stayed green the entire time) the pool was green with algae. The home was not just not clean, but disgusting. The floors had spillage and full of dirt. The refrigerator was nasty inside and out. The dishes were full of dried food. There were stains on the sheets/blankets. The bathrooms were not clean. I bought tons of cleaning products and cleaned for hours. Had to wash for the two days I was there down to the shower curtains. The "beach" is mud, not sand and stunk so bad. Was full of seagrass so it is not swimmable. The trash had maggots in it from not being picked up. The seats outside were rusted and could not be used. We left the property and got a hotel. So aggravated and upset as this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. Worst "vacation" ever. HORRIBLE!

Property could’ve been slightly a little cleaner. Stained sheets.fridge didn’t get real cold. Bathroom floors needed cleaning. A lot of duck poop in the pool and all over. But it was alright.

Don't believe the pictures! We spent over $1800 to stay in this house for three nights. As others have said, the location is nice, but the house is a mess. We could have stayed at a nice resort nearby for less money and enjoyed it much more. The hall bathroom smelled like a sewer, and when I messaged the manager I didn't hear from him until the day we left. He said that he would look i into it and provide us with some compensation, but we never heard from him again. The tile in the bathrooms was dirty and buckled so the door wouldn't open all the way. The extra toilet paper under the sink was just three small leftover rolls. There were stains on the pillowcases. The blind in the living room was pulled down so that you couldn't see the torn up screen and hurricane shutters that are taped up with electrical tape and rattled in the wind. Several electrical outlets were missing covers, and several outlets didn't even work. The dishwasher was missing a wheel on the rack so it was constantly falling and it didn't get the dishes clean. The dishes and cutlery in the cupboards weren't clean, and the cupboard doors were sticky. Mugs were stained with coffee or tea. The heating element on the coffee maker was rusted. The beds were very soft and uncomfortable. There was damage to the ceilings that hadn't been fixed. I have NO IDEA what the $250 cleaning fee is used for, because it certainly isn't for cleaning or upkeep! I wish I could share the pictures I took! Book something else!

This place is located on a small private beach and we truly enjoyed it! We were lucky enough to have 5 days on this secluded island and just loved it. The property is lovely with a nice pool, beach, and small docking area. The house itself needs some work but who cares!! I didn't come here to sit in the house...I would highly recommend it if you want to relax in paradise!!

This property has the best location! The beach is so beautiful even though it’s not really swimmable. The kayaks are older but usable and the fishing area and boat area are fantastic. The house has a great view and is located perfectly near restaurants and stores but far enough away you aren’t in the hustle and bustle. The house itself does leave a lot to be desired. The listing says king bed, queen bed and a futon but that’s not really the case. The futon is actually the couch in the living room which doesn’t help with sleeping situations as there’s no privacy. No blind on one of the doors at all! The doors are hard to close, stains on the bedding and some towels, etc. There wasn’t basic cooking utensils - not even a measuring cup in the kitchen! Again the property was great but the house itself needs some TLC. Has potential to be a great place but needs some updating and fixing!

The private beach is indeed amazing. We daily sat on the beach and relaxed – so peaceful – the view is amazing. The kayaks were a real plus for us. The cove is somewhat protected so even on windy days kayaking was possible. We enjoyed exploring. As mentioned by other renters, there are some issues with the cottage. While we were there, there was a strong odor that was localized in the kitchen and we saw a rat run across the floor. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and other than cooking and sleeping, we spent most of our time outside so we didn’t let these issues stop us from having fun. We did check out early when rain began and we were going to be confined indoors. The hosts graciously arranged for an early check-in and did indeed refund us for the two days early check-out.

This home was just what we were looking for. A simple home right on the beach. We spent our days between hanging out on the private beach and exploring the different islands. We enjoyed using the kayaks several times and our son enjoyed the pool. My husband just wished he had his fishing gear. The home is a little older, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The beach is perfect for wading, hermit crab hunting, and watching the ocean.

The location is great. The cottage is satisfactory. It is in need of some repair and maintenance. The bathroom floor is bad. The washing machine did not work. Otherwise, some restoration to a better all-around condition.

Loved it! Secluded and private cottage. A little rustic but everything needed was there and nicely done. Will definitely be back!

The perfect, authentic, unpretentious slice of the Florida Keys. The private beach made for so much family fun! The cottage was clean and comfortable and the location perfect for us. We really enjoyed what felt like out own private island.

The kitchen cabinets felt greasy, the surfaces didn't feel all the way clean, the pool was green and unusable, the washer and dryer was in an outside shed and had to use a bar to keep the washer shut (laundry also felt kind of greasy), and the water was FULL of jellyfish.

What a wonderful experience! This is our first VRBO and it will not be our last. Management was available via phone and text to update us on all policies. This quaint keys style cottage is located on an AMAZING tiny island with only a few other houses.
Easy access to the ocean, updated and well maintained dock with room for multiple boats, and small but important touches such as a bait freezer and fish cleaning station in the dock area!

Perfect spot. The landlord allowed us to prepare a beautiful wedding for 40 guests under the palms at sunset. The location was perfect and the amenities were plentiful - kayaks, boat dock, pool and the beautiful ocean. Highly recommend it.

Great communication before and during the stay to make all our expectations were met. Very clean and had the genuine "Keys feel". Would recommend to people that like a private place. Great location between Marathon and Islamirada. Also, only an hour drive to Key West.

I was looking for a cool place with a dock to share time with my best friend of 25 years in the Marine Corps. and our wives. What I liked most of this place was how secluded we were but at the same time so close if we want to go grocery shopping or needed anything. The place is just like the pictures. The owner was in contact if we needed anything and very pleasant to speak with. We BBQ and kayaked and took the boat out. Left it at the dock over night and had a great view from our place. I am in hopes to come back soon.

I have to say, this was a beautiful place to visit. The cottage was in a convenient location. You can be in Key Largo or Key West in no time. The “Host” was an amazing guy! I’ve read the other reviews, and I don’t see where ppl had an issue. Mr. Blanco was an excellent host, probably the best we’ve ever had! The cottage could use a few updated items, but everything was functional. At the end of the day, if you never been to the Florida Keys, this is a good spot to enjoy yourself. Thank you for your hospitality Mr. Blanco!

Mixed reviews for my rental
The grounds were beautiful. Having kayaking on the property was great. The cottage itself was plenty of room for our family of 4. Having iguanas on the beach was really cool. Downside was guest shower my kids would not even use due to hair being in there and it not being cleaned properly. Feces stuck on plunger which was absolutely disgusting. Master shower floor looks like it's going to fall through. Really soft spot. The faces of all cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms were dirty. Only hot water in the kitchen which was burning my hands. Garbage was never picked up. Ants were coming in front door and roach was in bathroom. Both doors were pretty busted and barely worked. Hand rail is broken and very wobbly was afraid someone would get hurt and fall. The dock was beautiful and well maintained. This place could be amazing if some maintenance and proper sanitation is performed. Sadly I do not feel it was worth the cost but we made the best of it!

Property is in horrible condition.
Very out dated, run down, no attention to detail. Beds are HORRIBLE, OLD & UNCOMFORTABLE! Had to go to Home Depot and buy a pair of pliers and a shower head for one of the bathrooms. Showers missing parts.Tile loose and very soft floor in bathroom. Only 3 towels/washcloths per bathroom for 7 night stay for 4 people! Burning hot water in kitchen, no cold at all. Trash pick up only occurred 1 time. Laundry facilities horrible! Old junky lawn mower and rusty blades under house near sitting area. Lights outside under house inoperable. Railing on deck unsafe. Mini blinds hardly function. Pool in major need of replaster. Beach area pretty dirty. Electrical wiring near pier exposed. Not worth the money!!

This place is a dream
This was my family’s second time staying at this property. This entire property is a dream, there’s a private beach, boat basin, fishing dock, barbecue grills, lots of beach toys, kayaks and stand up paddle boards, with all the required life jackets and paddles. My favorite part is the outdoor shower and being able to shower under the stars. We arrived the same day as Tropical Storm Alex so it was a lot of rain and relaxation for the first day, but quickly turned into sunshine and glass flat water and LOTS of really good fish, 18” mutton snappers, 16” mangrove snappers, barracudas, and loads of sharks. we saw a few tarpon but no luck. Spoke with the property owner a couple times and he is very nice and extremely accommodating.

Tranquil getaway
Being able to unpack the car and jump right into a kayak steps away toward beautiful clear blue water was amazing. The setting was as beautiful and peaceful as described. Not too far from stores, restaurants, nightlife, and excursion rentals. Perfect destination if you're coming with a boat as there is a slip and dock on site I believe at no extra charge (we didn't bring a boat this time but intend to come back with one). The owner was very responsive and onsite to immediately address issues. We were very impressed to learn that he acquired and renovated the three cottages on the private island in just the last year. You can tell he has put a lot into them and is dedicated to ensuring that his guests have the best stay possible.

We had an amazing time staying at the Seahorse cottage. The saltwater pool was great but the best part was stargazing from the deck every night!
