A place where you can find your inner peace!!!
Everything was just amazing. Wish we could have had a longer stay. We definitely recommend it. My best friend and I were there for Firefighter School that the Old Forge Fire Dept hosted for the weekend. We moved our motel to the Great Pines because the motel our FD reserved for us was shit. The amenities that come with the stay are wonderful. You can kyak or just sit around and have a bonfire in one of the two outside fire pits. Or you can go inside and relax and read a book. It is so peaceful and relaxing. It makes you forget about reality for a bit before you have to go back home to it. We will definitely be back!!!!
What we didn't like was having to leave the peaceful nature of the Inn. We enjoyed it so much. One night was definitely not enough time to enjoy it all.

We only stay for one night and I really wished that we had the room for two since it was so cozy and
Complimenter breakfast was great, view was amazing and we loved that there was a tavern right next door. We will book again!
Upstairs room was a little warm with no temp control, no counter in the bathroom and no mirror other than what is in the bathroom. All small complaints and otherwise the place is fantastic

Overall pretty good compared to other stays in the area. Hopefully they keep up on things.
Comfy bed. Clean linens, beautiful lobby they should do more to promote hanging out there and let people know about the little breakfast set up.
Rooms (carpet and bathroom) could be cleaner. Could use new pillows. Sink in our room #24was terrible it was installed backwards and sprays everywhere. The installed toiletry dispensers in the shower were very clearly filled with water. You may as well just get rid of them . The TV was very difficult to navigate (numerous other guests were looking for help with theirs as well ). Getting into the room was a bit of hassle; if the room is already clean and ready the code should work. Was not aware of the little breakfast inside the lobby. Just happened to stumble upon it when there was really nothing left. Food was not great at the lean-to this visit. They were out of numerous items; fish was greasy, jukebox screen broken. There did not seem to be a staff member available on site for the hotel. Myself and other guests had to contact the restaurant where we then had to wait for somebody to arrive to help with our needs.

Great Pines was a comfortable and scenic stop on our way back from Vermont to the Midwest.
The location on the 4th of the chain lakes outside of Old Forge was picturesque and relaxing. The manager of the property communicated with me after a last minute booking and answered every question promptly and courteously.
I wish the restaurant had been open on Wednesday, but that’s not really a reflection of the property, more a matter of the end of season sporadic bookings and having the wait staff drive so far for so few patrons. There was a bbq restaurant just minutes away, so it’s not like we went without. This isn’t really a complaint, as we are locked into this specific week for fall traveling, and we have to accept the limitations.

It was a good time
I liked the rooms and the set up of the property. There was a place to eat with limited hours and a beautiful docks with beautiful views of the lake.
Our room wasn’t cleaned when we checked in at 4 pm that was a total bummer. We wanted to get cleaned up for dinner and had to wait another hour and a half for our cabin to be cleaned.

Beautiful private location with that Adirondack cabin feel. Take a good look at the map of the whole place before choosi
The Lodge is placed at a beautiful location, great view of the Lake. Private, quiet, off the beaten path.
Our cabin was a Mountain View, which meant we didn’t get ADK chairs to sit in either. Which we didn’t realize because there are SO many ADK chairs pictured. We tried several times to go to other locations to obtain a chair to sit and see the views (to drink our Coffee, etc.,) and it was like there was a shortage of chairs; or they were reserved for those with Lake view access. Such a bummer. We also didn’t have basic necessities like hand soap in our cabin when we arrived - they told us we could pick it up ourselves at the lodge but when we went it was all gone, we had to wait until the next morning and then found someone to ask.

Disappointed
Beautiful spot on the lake.
We were disappointed in the room. The carpet was ripped and the tile on bathroom floor had a huge crack in it. The beds were way too soft. I think they could use new mattresses. The people next to us had grandkids and you could hear them jumping and making all kinds of noise way past 12 midnight. We sat in the lodge but they said they don't light fireplace in the summer but it was raining and damp so it would have been nice. In the morning, we went to get some hot water out of the water dispenser but the knob was broken and the water wouldn't come out. It is too bad they don't keep up with their things because it is a beautiful spot.
