Very recommendable

The staff was very affable, the kitchen setting is great. There is tea and coffee for free. The place is very clean and orderly. The showers are good. Great views on the bay at front.

It is far from the centre and, although the room was fine, the mattress I had was worn-out. Instead of a bed, I had the sensation that I was in a nest! Not very good for the back.

Great value and view

The rooms were exceptionally clean and the place was very cheap! The staff was very nice, and they offer rooms for families which I thought was very cool. The bathrooms were also very clean. The kitchen also had free coffee and tea which was amazing!

Not the hostel's fault, but to get from the bus stop to the hostel there is an incredible steep hill. I was dying afterwards lol

Great stay! Super clean Hostel and nice staff!

This was probably the best hostel I have stayed in. Super clean, comfy beds, a movie room with a projector and a pool table and free tea 🥳 perfect for staying in Trondheim and spending a few days! Sad to leave actually :)

The only thing is that I couldn’t find it on Hostelworld which would be great as there you can also use the chat options. Even though it was not a problem meeting people here in the end :)

Very good

I liked the very friendly and helpful staff, the atmosphere and equipment in the kitchen and the view over the city. And I liked that there was free coffee and tea at any time.

The hostel is located on a hill - that's why you can enjoy that wonderful view. But having to run that hill every day, sometimes fully packed when returning from a grocery store, is pretty exhausting. Free workout :)

In general it's a very good place, can recommend. Area is not very central but still close and very quiet. Kitchen is clean and very good equipped.

I booked 4 months in advance and asked for lower / bottom bed as always. At check in they told me it's not available. Surprise: the bottom bed under mine was still free... The small things!

Not budget friendly for family place to stay.

not much to say.

location is little far from the center. bed is not comfortable. bunk beds high up and easy to fall out of the beds when to get down. No parking even for checking. kids are welcome to all age, but two years or older consider is adult.

Super relaxing and comfortable.

Super clean, comfortable and homely. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The kitchen was well organised clean which made it easy to make meals. There was a movie room and the free tea and coffee was a great bonus. I found it easy to walk to where ever I wanted to go. And what a view of the sunset! Would stay here again for sure.

I felt like i was living at home.

Everything was absolutely perfect, really, beyond initial expectation. The staff was super friendly and cooperative and were clearly motivated and inspirational. thank you for this wonderful experience! I will definitely choose Wandrerhjem next time.

There's nothing i didn't like. The Hostel had all facilities I could wish for or need. I am very happy and completely satisfied. Thank you again!

A great place to stay for few days.

The kitchen Facilities are amazing. You`ll save a lot of money if you know how to cook. The common area is a great place to hang out and there is also a bus stop 100 meters away. The staff is really helpful and loving in nature. Overall, A Great play to stay. Surely, If I want to visit again I`ll prefer Trondheim Vanderhjem

See negative comment, there was nothing good to mention about this hostel, unfortunately.

I have seen hostels on all continents of this world (consider an Antarctic Station very similar to a hostel), but what I found in Trondheim was new. When I wanted to sheet my blanket, I found a black/brown crust stain flaking off. No idea what it was, but obviously, I changed my blanket and found an old paper towel in the next bed. So that was the bedroom, then I went to the kitchen and saw a free food shelf. Cool thing, but stuff should be cleaned out when past date, especially when it is single slices of flat bread, that looked like ancient Egyptian papyrus. Not to mention the 1 month past hamburgers in the fridge. Combine that with missing kitchen towels despite a fine for not cleaning up and a missing shower curtain. So all in all the hostel looked really neglected and not cared about, besides the hygienic problems and also the missing COVID19 measures. A hostel that costs nearly 500 NOKs (50 USD), should do better. If I had this situation in a 5 USD hostel in Paraguay, OK, but not in Norway and not for this price.
