About this apartment rental
Welcome to the Carriage House at Chaprae Hall! A cozy, quiet respite from a busy world awaits you. This fully furnished & appointed vintage living space has been updated over the years to be an inviting and welcoming stop for your journey. Whether you’re traveling for business, in town for an event, or looking for a central home base for day trips across southern New England, we've got you covered with your own kitchen, full bath, living space, and bedroom with queen-sized bed.
Look out from your bedroom across our back meadow to the original stone wall property line in the distance while listening to the wind rustle through our 150+ year old grafted Beech tree.
You'll have access to two TVs, Dish Network, and can log into your own streaming services via the Amazon fire sticks provided. There's space to lounge, to eat, to work, and to sleep.
Built in 1932, we have enjoyed updating the Carriage House and have plans for even more renovations in the future. One of our best friends describes it as "Pilgrim Chic." It's simple, clean, and got all the basics you need. We're excited to welcome you!
We live in the main house. While the two buildings are close, we are committed to maintaining your privacy and ours. We are a fully vaccinated household.
Parking is available in the driveway. Please pull up to the guest parking sign so we can all access the drive. Street parking is unavailable.
We live in the main house which is close to the Carriage House and are glad to answer any questions you may have before or during your stay. If there are any issues, we'll be right there to help resolve them for you.
East Killingly, one of the original 10 villages of Killingly, centered around the Acme Cotton Mill in the 19th century. This community has the best rural life has to offer--from ridge-top orchards (just up the road!) to trails around the mill ponds to watching horses and cattle graze. All the sights and sounds of small town life that people love are here--from kids playing in their yards to roosters welcoming the dawn. We live in the historic village of East Killingly. With homes built from the mid-19th century to today, the lots are tight--like you'd expect from an era before cars!
Please note: Window air conditioning units are provided from May 1 to October 31 only. They are NOT provided from November 1-April 30.

Had excellent communication when needed. Any needs we had were fulfilled promptly.
Location was quiet and easily found. Enjoyed the country feel and interesting things nearby when we were not with family.
Would have appreciated some basic history to familiarize us to the area and nearby towns in a binder.

This is our second time staying at the Carriage House at Chaprae Hall. It is a clean, wonderful property ... perfect for our stay and perfect size for two people. Electronic door lock allows us to enter property at any time with a code, kitchenette and refrigerator, very comfortable bed. An affordable option, less expensive than the surrounding hotels and much nicer. Thanks for our second stay, we will come again!

Great location for my needs.

Excellent space in a super scenic area. Did some foliage peeping down random country roads. Jon was very communicative about the necessities, but otherwise gave me space to work. Bed is super cozy (totally bought the same sheets when I got home), view from bedroom table is gorgeous, and NYC Pizza Co is going to make me drive 45 min for another Figgy Piggy. So good! Will totally press through another deadline here.

Great little break in this excellent Coach House. Facilities are as described and the home is spotless. Owners extremely helpful and message immediately. The only addition that the owners could make is a couple of seats outside the front of the property to allow you to enjoy the fantastic sunshine and hot weather! Will certainly look at returning

Entering this property I said "This is so nice!" It's spacious, beautifully appointed and very comfortable, obvious that alot of work and thought has gone into every detail.
Likely the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The view from the desk at the picture window in the bedroom looks out over lush green lawn and large shade trees. Loved the full kitchen. Perfect place to spend the night while traveling in the area.
The host was friendly, accessible and very accomodating. Would gladly stay here again if in the area.

Wonderfully spacious bedroom with Keurig coffee machine and a nicely appointed living space. Kitchen had a full size refrigerator and anything else you could possibly want. Hosts were very nice and immediately responded to any comments we had. Right off route 101 with shopping and restaurants close by.

Very clean. Excellent communication from host, Jon! I was travelling alone & was a late arrival (past 9pm). Jon made sure to keep an eye out for me & popped his head out to welcome me. The Carriage House had everything I needed. It's beautifully decorated. And the view from the bedroom window was amazing! I could stare out that window for hours! Extremely satisfied with my stay.

The place was just right for the two of us visiting our grandchildren for a couple days attending some of their school events. We had two full days and a place nearby to end it and talk about our blessing. We met Jon and he was very helpful and congenial. Everything was great.

While visiting family and friends for the Holidays this was the perfect, relaxing place to stay. The Carriage House is cozy, comfortable and charmingly appointed. I loved the decor, wherever I looked there was something to make me smile, or catch my interest. The amenities were complete, we had everything we needed for the week's stay and more. The work space was perfect, how I loved gazing out the large windows at the meadow between emails!
The hosts are super friendly and responsive. We felt super cared about and secure.
The neighborhood has a special place in my heart, and we will definitely return. There is more space, privacy and comfort than a hotel room, a better value and much cleaner, too.
We are so very grateful for the lovely stay in Chaprae Hall, it was the perfect way to ring in the New Year!

Perfect location for any directions that you would like to travel.
My girlfriend and I stayed. She has never been to New Englang before. We traveled up north so could show her some fall colors.
We were very comfortable staying there. I would recommend this place to anyone

Perfect Fall Getaway
We loved our stay at Chaprae! What a beautiful guest house with such cute details—my favorite was Benito the Banana Tree in the bedroom! There was lots to do in the area and Jonathan had great recommendations available for guests. We hope to be back!
