About this house rental
All three of the homes on our property are hidden in the forest - but conveniently located with quick access to adventure and shopping - 10 minutes from the quaint mountain town of Bryson City. Our website has additional information about activities in the area.
The Holiday House (ie vacation rental) was named in honor of the New Zealand vacations that refreshed the Goodgame family when they arrived in the country in 2013. The origin story of Hideaway Point is rooted in the exhaustion of striving and the need for rest and retreat. You can search and find more about that story. We hope that Hideaway Point be a place of restoration for lots of different kinds of people.
This creatively designed home has lots of space and natural light to enjoy. It is the largest of our three homes at Hideaway Point, sleeping up to twelve guests.Tucked into the Nantahala National Forest - with a framed view of the Smoky Mountains off the back porch. Multiple indoor and outdoor areas for gathering and resting. Outside features include a gas grill, hot tub, sauna and beautiful fire pit area.
Please see our photos to better understand the unique beauty of this mountain home. We would love to answer any questions you have. Schedule a phone call today.
Our hospitable groundskeeper Sarah lives at Hideaway Point with her two (well behaved) labradors and an assortment of interesting aquarium pets. Sarah's apartment is attached to the Holiday House with a separate entrance (photo on listing). She is a wonderful resource in our Bryson City community - a curious learner, who loves the outdoors and education in experiential contexts. Sarah is available through the messaging app. We are thankful for the value she adds to our Hideaway Point team.
The Holiday House is one of three homes that are nicely spaced out on the Hideaway Point property (see aerial map on photos). We have a nice (gradual slope) gravel road with easy access during the winter. Lots of parking in front of the house (see photos).
The Holiday House (like all of the kitchens at Hideaway Point) is well stocked with tools you will need to prepare almost any meal. None of our Hideaway Point kitchens are stocked with baking needs, condiments, oils or spices. For large group meals - search to learn more about utility kitchen at The Hostel.
All of our bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner & body soap dispensers. We are a proud supporter of eco-friendly brand “who gives a crap” toilet paper.
Cell service can be spotty depending on your provider. Verizon works well. Googl GPS is accurate while WAZE often leads guests to the wrong address.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Normally we don’t need such a big place but this was perfect for us and every family had their own privacy and place to get away to when kids were overwhelmed or needed to sleep. It was incredibly clean and the kitchen was the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever stayed in for a rental. 10/10 highly recommend this place

We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was great! I plan to return at some point! I love how spacious the house was! Everyone enjoyed all that the home had to offer! Love the view!

This is a wonderful property with fantastic views. We had plenty of room for our family of 12. The connecting apartment was perfect. The hot tub was nice and clean. It is close to everything. Downtown Bryson City is a short drive away. Rivers Edge restaurant was enjoyable and only a few miles away. We would stay here again. If you had a larger gathering there are three homes in this area. All of them are very nice and each home has its own privacy.

This was a great property for our family vacation. The listing was spot on accurate and the host were great to work with. We had a mishap with a baby gate and the Sheetrock. We communicated with them and offered to repair if they would like. They were very understanding and appreciative of our offers to repair. Will definitely book the next family trip with them again.

Fantastic stay just minutes from Bryson, the entire family enjoyed the views from the home and decks. Kitchen has pots and pans that are clean and neat, unlike many VRBO homes. Everything throughout the rental was in working order which is impressive given the size of the home. We especially liked the drive in from the hwy, the driveway even offers a couple nice views! There aren't many VRBO rentals we ever plan to return to but, this unit is an exception, we're looking forward to a late spring stay next year.
