About this cottage rental
Scenic Solitude Hosted by St James Vacation Homes
Welcome to Scenic Solitude!
Situated on a corner lot and shaded by surrounding pines, Scenic Solitude faces the Great Waters driving range (just across the street) for unique front porch views that are favorites among golfers and those who appreciate the soft light of sundown. Among the natural beauty and just steps from another of our most popular vacation rentals sits Scenic Solitude; a newly renovated 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath cottage whose large front porch is just the beginning of a delightful 2-story retreat that exudes Southern charm. This home is an ideal getaway as a standalone property or as a dual reservation for groups wanting to occupy both cottages with both homes being neighbors (quite literally).
First Level
Scenic Solitude has a tastefully renovated open floor plan with hardwood details, abundant natural sunlight, warm colors and textures, and plenty of places for small or large crowds to kick back. The living room provides ample seating with a sofa, loveseat, and armchair. A nearby reading nook houses books and board games, but the Netflix junkies won't feel neglected with an oversized wall-mounted flatscreen TV anchoring the room and providing plenty of cable and streaming options.
The kitchen is highlighted by abundant counter space, cabinet storage, and all new stainless-steel appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, stovetop oven, and microwave. Two coffee makers are on standby for your favorite drip or K-pod brew. Two barstools wait for occupants, and a farmhouse-inspired dining table with seating for 8 beckons mealtime conversation.
Enjoy dining on the full-length screened deck outfitted with an outdoor dining table and 6 chairs, propane grill, wall mounted flatscreen TV, patio chairs, and new cushioned outdoor seating. The screened deck is a favorite for early birds, night owls, and sun-kissed kids who aren't quite ready to retire for the day.
The master suite, located on the main level, also offers access to the back deck and is furnished with a king bed, night tables, luggage racks, dresser, wall-mounted flatscreen TV, and walk-in closet with floor-to-ceiling custom shelving. The ensuite bathroom has a large vanity for extra storage, soaking tub, and step-in tiled shower with detachable rain shower head. Also on the main level are a laundry closet with a full-size washer and dryer and a powder room just off the foyer.
Second Level
Upstairs on the second level guests will be greeted with two guest bedrooms with rare surprises: double queen beds in each room for a sleeping capacity of 8!
In addition to plush bedding, each room is also detailed with a dresser, luggage racks, large windows, wall-mounted flatscreen TV, and storage closet.
Two bathrooms – one ensuite and one shared – come with plenty of bath linens and offer under sink storage and step-in shower or shower-tub combo. Kids and teens will appreciate this space to call their own, and parents will enjoy having their own retreat downstairs!
With so much comfort inside and so much to do right outside your door, you may not have much reason to leave your home-away-from-home! However, if you are curious to check out local life, there are plenty of places to explore right outside the gates. Harmony Crossing is replete with boutiques and plenty of dine-in and take-out meal options. Travel north on Highway 44 to stock up at Publix, enjoy breakfast at Café 44, or try one of the blends from PJ's Coffee of New Orleans. We also recommend visiting the historic districts of downtown Eatonton and downtown Greensboro. Both have mom-and-pop cafes, restaurants, and retail stores that are locally owned and operated. Be sure to check out the local events, festivals, and farmer's markets, too!

We enjoyed our third stay at this lovely home that has been remodeled beautifully. It had ample room for our large extended family with two bedrooms that had two queen beds each. The large screen porch with dining and seating around outdoor TV and grill were great. Perfect location for access to Great Waters golf, clubhouse, pool, tennis, lake and marina! Only thing lacking is a garbage disposal and providing beach towels. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

We didn't spend a lot of time there but what we did was great! The beds were extremely comfortable & it was all well equipped! The only thing that I think could be added is hooks for hanging towels on after use!

Everyone thought the facility was great. Check-in gate could not locate the list of names. They resolved the issue quickly. Thanks

This property was perfect for me and my family. The property is a piece of art and the community is paradise. We hope to stay here again.

Very clean and feels like home away from home. The check in process was seamless. The beds are comfortable and cozy. The screened porch was one of our favorite places to relax. We will be back!

Great home! We loved it and it had everything we needed. Very comfortable for 4 friends travelling to play some golf in the area. We had one small issue with the BBQ and property management quickly resolved it for us.

Although we liked the house plan we were disappointed in the location. To call it lake front or lake view is a stretch. There aren't easy walking paths to get to the lake at all. One of the beds was not usable. I truly appreciated the fast email response about the bed. We paid $250(ish) for cleaning and honestly the floors could have used another round of vacuuming. Under the beds haven't been swept in a very long time. The main rug was swept by me when we arrived. I don't mind that I had to do that, but we pay a high cleaning fee it should be spotless. The fireplace was not clean. Many of my family members have allergies and the fireplace should be cleaned out especially since renters aren't allowed to use it. We did love the layout. The kitchen was stocked which we truly appreciate. My kids loved the board games and all the Georgia pictures especially the large UGA in the upstairs hallway. If it hadn't been so darn cold we would have also loved to use the beautiful back porch. Lots of great things about the house just some negatives as well.
