House was awesome! Location was great! Mitch, the owner, stayed in constant contact with us, helping us in anyway. Highly recommend.

We loved everything about this vacation home. It is located in a great neighborhood, central to all the attractions, restaurants, groceries, and not far from ski rentals. The home was perfect for our group. My husband and I took 4 teenagers skiing over spring break. The common spaces are on the upper level and the bedrooms are on the lower level. The kids could go up into the media room close the door and watch their awful horror movies or play cards in the evenings. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. We cooked almost every meal there. Two mule deer visited us each day. As an added bonus, we got a gorgeous 48-hour snowfall that began about 12 hours before our first day at Ski Apache. As stated in the property’s description, the steep neighborhood road to this home would have been impossible in the snow without our 4WD vehicle or snow chains. Our host was very attentive with his communication. The entire experience was amazing!!

Absolutely beautiful. The views and the house are amazing. Highly recommend staying at this place. Plenty of room for a big family.

Fresh home with lots of room, quiet and relaxing.
Elk and mule deer grazing in the back when we arrived was a nice start. Not too far from town for a quick trip to the store etc but fairly secluded in a quiet upscale neighborhood. House is freshly updated with more than enough room for a large family with ample indoor and outdoor lounging areas, AC, 3.5 baths, it has everything (and a nice new hot tub). We will stay again. Mitch is an attentive host as well.

Awesome experience!
We truly enjoyed staying in Alto. The property was amazing and the area is breathtaking! Mitch is a great host and the home has plenty of room to spread out for our teenagers including several TVS and bathrooms. The kitchen is wonderful! There is tons of fun stuff to do with 20 minutes including the Flying J ranch, horseback riding in the mountains, great shopping in Ruidoso, tons and tons of wildlife (horses, deer, and elk), go cart riding, alpine slides and gondola rides, and several lakes and recreation areas. We spent three days in Alto but could have spent several more. It was great and we’d love to come back again soon!

Home appears to have been newly remodeled. The location is excellent if you want to be away from town yet still close to everything. The lot that the home sits on feels remote and we saw elk and deer all three days that we were there while driving to and from the home each day. The hot tub was crystal clear and has a very nice view through the pines to the sunset over Sierra Blanco. Communication from the owner was unlike any other we have dealt with (we have rented several VRBO's in many different states), Mitch was in communication with us from the time of booking until even after our trip was complete and answered any questions we had about the property, local entertainment, and dining. The website accurately describes the property, there are two living areas, both very nice with kitchen and dining between them. One living area appears to be used more as a TV viewing room while the other is more formal. Kind of one living room and one family room type set up. The living room has a beautiful fireplace that we could imagine we would've enjoyed very much in the winter months. Access to the property was easy, there appeared to be enough parking for at least 3-4 vehicles. The home comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids. One king, one queen, then bunk bed, 3 bedrooms. Kitchen is large by any standard so great for preparing large meals if a for larger family and or friends. There are stairs up to Kitchen/Dining/and both Living areas with a nice wrap around deck with the back deck having steps down to hot tub then a side path deck leading to a nice sized front deck. Bring some sandals to get to hot tub, plenty of towels provided right by the sliding door. All of the bedrooms are located down a half flight of stairs and the master bedroom ensuite bathroom features a small 2 person sauna. There are 3 full bathrooms downstairs with the half bath upstairs in the family (tv) room. The home is at an elevation of about 7400ft and surrounded by pine trees which gave the air a crisp smell of pine needles with the few rain storms we had while there. This house is about 5 minutes to the turn to head up to Ski Apache, it is about 5 minutes from the Winter Park (which has summer/winter tubing as well as a zip line). The horse racing track seemed to be about a 15 min drive, and 2 golf courses are very close by. Overall, 5 star for the home vs the price, 6 out of 5 stars for owner availability and helpfulness. We had a great few days and look forward to coming back!

Owner extremely responsive/helpful. Property location feels very private.

Beautiful and spacious mountainside home with friendly wildlife!
Enjoyed meeting up from TX with our AZ family to escape the heat. It was warm in the mountains but the house has AC and the breeze in the pines was amazing. Hot tub a nice option and big bonus was 3.5 baths and 2 living rooms. The owner was so helpful and responsive. My family experienced a little altitude sickness and he immediately replied with suggested remedies and checked in rhe next day to be sure all was better. Very clean interior. All in all, a great stay and we will be back!
