Neighbor kids screamed like banchees all morning every morning and all night every night!!! It was more obnoxious and annoying than being trapped on an airplane next to a screaming baby!!! Ruined our stay and the ability to relax on the deck and enjoy the view.

We really enjoyed this property. The views on the Hood Canal were outstanding.

We can tell that this home is being fixed up, as the bathroom is newly remodeled very nicely. And there are other new things like lots of outdoor furniture. It was however a bit uncomfortable to find decades of detritus around, especially in the kitchen cupboards, when we were desperately searching for something as basic as a cutting board. I'm sure that will progress in the future. Just know, this is a work in progress at a great location.

The overall cleanliness of the place was great. Its a lot more outdated than it looks in the pictures but that wasnt a problem for us. The walk down to the water is steep and a lot farther down than you'd think with very little beach. The whole reason I booked this place was to have access to the water but being 8 months pregnant I wasnt able to go to the water. The beds were also super uncomfortable and it was a rough two nights of sleeping on them. But overall my husband and I had a great time playing games, bbqing and spending time watching the water.

Eagle's Nest was our perfect launch point for exploring the canal side of the Olympic National Forest. It was also the perfect spot to just relax and soak up the views from the living room.

The place was clean, accessible and in a beautiful location!! Comfy beds and great kitchen. Would have loved a bit more info on the wood stove and tv / satellite. But those are minor things. Will definitely be back!!!

Lovely location with private beach.
Some road noise as expected.
House as advertised- has not been updated in decades but loved and comfortable. Kitchen well appointed.
Enjoyed our stay, would come back.

This is a lovely vacation home- well cared for, clean and in a beautiful location. Though conveniently located off of the main road, it is privately nestled in the woods on the banks of the Hood Canal. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped ( drip coffee maker), and there are lots of games and books to keep as busy as you might wish to be if rain sets in. The east facing deck is a beautiful place to watch the sun rise and the seals fishing in the canal. In the evening, we enjoyed having a little fire in the wood stove. Though there is no WiFi, we were able to get cell service on our Verizon phones. The satellite TV worked well, and there are an abundance of DVDs and CDs to enjoy. With so much natural beauty around us, we spent little time using these things. We found it to be a great location for exploring the eastern side of the peninsula- whale watching from Port Townsend, exploring Lake Crescent, the Dungeness Wildlife Preserve, and the magnificent Hurricane Ridge to the north, and Lake Cushman and Staircase Trail to the south. Very close to the home we drove up Mount Walker for beautiful views, explored the oyster flats of the Dosewallips and Duckabush rivers where we also saw elk and Eagles, and visited Rocky Brook Falls.
I would highly recommend this home as a base to explore the area or to just get away from it all and relax on the deck and take in the view.

When we arrived at 4 p.m., the property was not cleaned up after the previous tenants had moved out. Cereal was spilled on the carpet under the table, full trash bags were still in the kitchen, coffee grinds had not been removed from the coffee maker, the dish washer had not been operated, a window was left open, the tenant used all three bed rooms but had paid only for two. We called the office and were told that a cleaning person was on her way and we would be able to move in at 6:30 p.m. The cleaning lady had been told about this job only at 3 p.m. and she lived 40 miles away. The cleaning lady came and we were able to move in shortly after 6 p.m. Vacasa owes us a refund or credit for future rentals for the time we sat outside waiting and were not able to use the property. The house and view were a delight and very comfortable. The cabin has a huge library of pocket books, a year's worth of reading material, and many videos. We did not have time to use any of those.

Had no issues with the cabin! Thought I'd share some things I didn't think to bring for the trip that may help others. Mosquito spray if you are like me and attract them! July, I'm thinking it's hot everywhere, definitely pack a hoodie or two for cooler days. Seasonings well stocked but try to bring everything you need for meals (butter, ketchup, mustard, buns etc) the only little gas station store in Brinnon was understandbly spendy for the everyday staples...The stairs down to the beach are steep (I knew this and was ok with it when I booked) I was however hoping it was over exaggerated and my elderly father would be able to do the stairs just fine. Not the case, again im not at all complaining as I was FULLY aware of the stairs down to the beach reading reviews before booking. My reason for bringing it up is if you are traveling with someone you have concerns they may or may not be able to do the stairs and you really want them too be able to sit on the beach - sadly, you should pass on this gem! But if them sitting on the cabin deck with the gorgeous views is all you're after- you won't be disappointed! There's lots and lots of books if you're a reader, we are not! Sleeping in the loft was amazing, the views- just stunning! Does get warm up there but there are fans in the cabin. But again if stairs are an issue, the step width to the loft is very small and I found it was best to walk down with my feet sideways lol.. Hummingbirds were great to watch around the deck. We spotted a couple seals close to the cabin beach during our stay. Saw the herd of Elk twice in the town of Brinnon right off the road- so be on the look out and have a camera ready! If you wanna take a ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville to explore book as far in advance as possible!
My only complaint if you wanna call it that would be have the inside and outside sprayed for spiders... Only ever saw two daddy long legs in the house but there were a couple webs in corners in the loft (naturally) that I didn't investigate. Numerous outside around the deck but again it's a cabin and to be expected!! More of a recommendation than anything. Oh, one more thing - not the owners doing but Vacasa sending a text at 930 pm on our arrival night asking me to rate the cleanliness of the cabin upon arrival was super annoying after 7+ hours of driving to cabin and just wanting to relax that night! Should send text such as those during business hours. No wifi as stated in ad, hard researching things to do. We experienced very spotty, frustratingly slow verizon service using our phones so look things up in advance!
We really enjoyed our stay and loved exploring new places!

We had a really lovely long weekend at Eagle's Nest. Although the house was located just off of Highway 101, it was remarkably quiet and peaceful, and the view was spectacular. The amenities in the house and nearby were good (convenience stores, Hama Hama Oyster Saloon, Port Townsend). We even brought some floaties and laid around in the water for a few hours. We would definitely stay here again.

The house is spacious and well appointed. Spotless and very well maintained. Spacious deck with lovely views over the water. Very quiet location. Would have given 5 stars except property manager communication let them down. After booking I messaged asking if I could extend the 2 day booking to 3 days. No reply. A week went by. I messaged again. No reply. A few days later I messaged saying don’t bother I will stick with the 2 day booking. 13 days after my initial message I finally got a response saying change not possible. VRBO website says property manager usually responds within 2 hours. What a joke!
