More information about OUTDOOR amenities:
The property is teaming with wildlife. We frequently see rabbits, deer, turtles, frogs, little snakes, and so much more. We love to watch the birds in the trees from the porch, and some nights you can see the fireflies light up the trees. The chorus of peaceful sound never ends, with birds chirping in the morning and frogs croaking at night.
Our recreational acre pond features a central floating fountain. We've added daffodils in 2023 as well as lots of other flowers. Three kayaks and a pedal boat are provided, as well as a small selection of life jackets. Gar, blue gill, and striped bass live in the pond as well and will follow you around the edge. The views of the pond are beautiful during every season, and the fall colors are simply spectacular out here!
Though there's plenty of fishing and hunting nearby, we do not allow either at the property. It is a rather wild woodsy lot, so keep your eyes out for poison ivy and bring your bug spray and sunscreen. Remember to bring all personal items inside at night, as the raccoons might steal your shoes if you leave them out. (Yes, it has happened before!)
Tent camping is considered around the pond, and the set up would be perfect for a group of scouts, family reunion, girls' weekend, yoga retreat, or more! Weddings and other events will be considered on a case by case basis but must be pre-approved and cannot be booked through a third party, and all camping and event fees must be paid prior to check in.
WATER SUPPLY note
The Kingsville Lodge runs on a well system with a new 2,000 gallon underground cistern backup system that will allow plenty of water for daily use even for groups; however, we do not allow guests to run the hose for any reason, as this could drain out your water supply and cause you quite an inconvenience. We do ask that groups over 8 try to conserve water during their stay by refraining from doing extra laundry or filling the indoor jacuzzi tubs.
LOCATION
Just an hour east of Cleveland and only 7.5 miles south of Lake Erie, the Kingsville Lodge is ideally situated near many popular vacation destinations. We are deep in Ohio's wine country, known as the Grand River Valley, home to over 30 wineries and where more than half of Ohio's grapes are grown. And if you're looking for something else to do, daily events in the area range from baby goat cuddle time and trivia night to bar crawls and live music. We have many annual summer festivals, including the Ashtabula Harbor Beach Glass Festival in June, the Wine and Walleye Festival in July, the D-Day Reenactment in August, and the Geneva Grape Jamboree in September, to name a few. And don't forget about the Grand River Valley Ice Wine Festival in March, or the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival in October.
Within a 30-minute drive are also Geneva on the Lake, the SPIRE Institute, various breweries, orchards, covered bridges, golf courses, lakeside dining in Ashtabula, and so much more. We highly recommend you check out the small towns around us. Kingsville, Ashtabula, Jefferson, Conneaut, and our other local towns have quaint downtown areas with lots of restaurants and shops to choose from. Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania is only 45 minutes away.
Ashtabula County Visitor's Bureau offers a very helpful area guide with area attractions and events at VisitAshtabulaCounty.com. A copy of the annual travel guide is available at the lodge.

We had a wonderful time. The home was very clean and well stocked. The kids and adults had lots of fun on the pond. The only suggestion we have would be a small sandy area to enter the pond. The home was fragrance free which is very important to me. Great place to return to.

Well stocked house with tons to do. The house was clean and the property was well maintained. We loved the outdoor spaces and the game room. The sleeping layout was a little awkward for our group in particular but there were plenty of places to sleep. Private but close enough to enjoy the beach or local shopping and restaurants. We had a great time!

The property is exactly as beautiful and well kept as the photos show. The kids (ages 6,8,9) had a blast in the pond with the kayaks and paddle boat and enjoyed the basement game room offerings.
The house was stocked with the essentials (paper products, basic toiletries and cooking supplies) and some bonus items like beach towels for the hot tub and pond use. We used the fire pit one night as well- firewood was provided.
This is a quiet peaceful little plot of land. Good pizza place a few minutes away. We loved this rental!

The Kingsville lodge was a delightful place for our extended family to gather to celebrate a milestone anniversary. We were six adults and four kids aged 4-12, and everything was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked. The great room was spacious. The basement game room was a hit with the kids, and from
the wraparound deck, fire pit/patio, and dock everyone enjoyed the view of the pond and the woods beyond The supply of kayaks and a paddleboat kept us entertained for hours. Oh… and there was a hot tub and a pool table! The host Sharyn was responsive and friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kingsville Lodge, there's so much to do we rarely left the property. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and all of the games in the game room. It rained a good portion of our stay so we didn't do any swimming, but we did take the kayaks out for a spin. It's so peaceful and quiet, just the sounds of nature which we absolutely loved! We would definitely visit again. :)

The property was even better than the pictures suggested. It was in pristine conditions. There were so amenities to keep the whole family entertained throughout the whole weekend. The kids had blast on the pond and exploring the many games in the basement. Close enough to presque isle (45 min drive), yet far enough away where you have the privacy out in nature. Just a wonderful place! I would recommend this place to anyone and would love to come back.

Kingsville Lodge exceeded our expectations. The house was lovely and so much to do for all ages. Also very close to Geneva on the Lake and Great Lake Erie Beaches and Wineries.
I would recommend this Lodge to everyone.

Absolutely amazing!! Very clean, quiet and remote. Perfect for a quiet get away. Kingsville lodge has absolutely everything you need from cooking items, linens, so many extra towels and so on. We brought extra items and would not have needed to because they had them all. It was like staying in your own home. Beds were so comfortable! Hot tub, porch swings and pond was fun. Definitely a place I will tell friends about and cannot wait to go back!

We're a family consisting of a grandfather, his kids and in-laws, and 6 grandchildren from 12 - 6 and this was the grandkids' Christmas present. We enjoyed this home from the minute we opened the door. Beautiful, spacious home. Great pond and hot tub. I've rented a lot of vacation homes and have never seen a house that was so thoughtfully and completely appointed before. There was plenty of everything, even things that you would not expect. We even found tweezers when we needed them.
The owner was gracious beyond reason. We had the best time here and even though we are very familiar with the area, we discovered the great beach at Conneaut along with enjoying a day in Geneva-On-The-Lake and Waldameer Park in Erie, PA. Great vacation! I would stay at this house again!

My group stayed at the Kingsville Lodge for 3 nights, while on a fishing trip. We chose the lodge due to the location and capacity, which provided our group with ample space, peace and quiet. The property is stunning and wonderfully maintained. Communication with the owners was extremely smooth.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was very spacious and clean. It was well stocked with everything you might need or might have forgotten when packing. We had a large group with mixed ages. There were plenty of beds in the three bedrooms. Though the loft bedroom is not completely closed off and sound sure does travel in that beautiful A-frame home. We were happy with everything and appreciated how responsive the host was.
