About this house rental
With plenty of room for up to 16, bring your whole family and besties for some fun in the sand and sun at The Catch of the Cape. We fell in love with this house because of its location, the spaciousness it provides, and the great outdoor space which makes the house a joy to be at when you need to get off the beach for awhile. We've worked very hard to give it all the modern amenities while also having that perfect eastern shore coastal vibe. Welcome to The Catch of the Cape!
One of the things we loved about this home is how spacious all the rooms are, in particular each bedroom is oversized and the house has several additional spaces that we have found to be unique for most of the homes in the historic district. There is a sunroom to sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning while looking out over the canal and open green space, the pool table room is a great space to enjoy some indoor time after fun in the sun, the dedicated kids space has its own television and couch/trundle bed combo for the kiddos to enjoy, and the comfy tv watching room has plenty of space to kick back and enjoy the game or binge watch your favorite streaming shows.
One of our other favorite things about this property is the large amount of outdoor space, once again a very unique feature for a home situated in the Historic District of Cape Charles. Outside you can enjoy the oversized patio with seating, a pavilion for some nice cool shaded time while outside, a dedicated fire pit space with adirondack chairs, an outdoor shower, and lots of green space for yard games.
Yes this is a "beach house" but our hope was to make it a place that offers guests many ways to kick back and enjoy while vacationing in one of our favorite places.
The one question we get from first time renters more than any other is whether being a few blocks from the beach is a hinderance in any way and from our experience it is not, actually there is a lot that we have come to love about being just on the east side of Fig St. The first thing to know is that golf carts are a big part of the Cape Charles experience, if you are coming to stay here we highly recommend you rent a golf cart. With a golf cart you can pretty much be anywhere in town you want to be, including the beach, in just a minute or so. And let's be real, life is always better when riding around in a golf cart :)
The unique benefits of this location is that you get to enjoy lots of green space and views, never have to battle for space to park, and get to have a quiet and serene experience. Also, as more and more retail has moved east, the location of The Catch of the Cape is perfectly located for a quick ride to the Cape Charles Brewery, Oyster House Restaurant, Central Park and other shops.
Location, Location, Location, and we have really come to value the benefits of our quiet little corner.
2 minute golf cart ride to beach/ about 6 blocks
1-2 min golf cart ride to shopping, ice cream, distillery, bakery, candy shop/4-5 blocks
1-2 minute golf cart ride to the oyster farm
2-3 minute golf cart ride to the shanty

The house was perfect for extended family vacation in Cape Charles. Comfortably housed 8 adults and 8 kids ages 1 to 12 years. The house is on a quiet corner with a great backyard patio setup that you won't find at many properties in the area and is a quick golf cart ride to the beach.
Host was responsive to questions, and we had no issues during the stay.

The property & house was perfect, the owners were amazing to work with & allowed us to have an early check in so we could help set up the venue & make the rehearsal!!! I’d love to visit again!❤️

We had an outstanding stay at this location. It was the perfect fit for our entire family. We enjoyed the back porch in the morning and the pool table room in the evening. All of the decorations are perfect and very up to date. The kids enjoyed the bunk room and all the other bedrooms were perfectly appointed. Great location to all things. We had golf carts and truly loved our experience. Every time we reached out to the owners they had a very helpful and timely response. Would definitely pick this place again!!!

Such a great house. Everything you need is there. Grill was brand new. If there was one thing we could recommend to the next guest is to bring a sponge for the sink.
Host was available to answer questions almost immediately! Can't go wrong renting this house!

We had 4 couples for a weekend get away. The rooms were all spacious and clean. Nice common areas and clean bathrooms throughout the house. there is a nice outside area for hosting a bonfire, that we enjoyed. We cooked in and played games both nights. We all commented that it would be a great house to bring kids and grandkids as there is plenty of space! Thank you again and we hope to come back.

We had a spectacular time at this property and our hosts were absolutely fabulous. Their personal touches and quick response to any questions was so appreciated. The house was a quick golf cart ride away from city center and had a beautiful outdoor space that was great for kids.
The kitchen was stocked with every cooking utensil you might need and they even had a toy chest and beach toys for the kids! Had such a wonderful stay and will likely be back again soon!!

From beginning to end the whole process was very easy. We didn’t really communicate too much with the property owner but when we did the response was fairly quick. The home was clean and cozy. Our families had a great time and the kids really enjoyed the pool table. Thank you again and we will most likely be renting again in the future
