The house was perfect for 10 guys taking a weekend away to play golf. The house was huge and had everything we needed. The location is in the woods which was perfect for us as we wanted to be isolated from any neighbors. Everything described in the listing was accurate. We would definitely stay there again!

I took a group of 17 up to stay for a week in Maine while we put on a kids camp. We were told the property had air conditioning but upon arrival found that it did not. Typically this wouldn’t have been a big deal in Maine but it was an unusually hot week. Temperatures regularly ran in the 80s in the house as the outside temps were in the mid 90s. Nights that it dropped down into the 60s it was manageable but needed constant air circulation. The hot water heater is very small so many showers were cold but that did help with the heat in the house. With the lack of ventilation windows constantly had to be open except at night so bugs progressively became an issue but not too major. Many of the tables and chairs in the house were unstable so we opted for the floors and couches most often or just sat on beds to avoid breaking anything and incurring charges. There was no broom except a brillow padded push broom which didn’t catch much so cleaning throughout the week was difficult. No skillets in the kitchen forced us to borrow from friends in the area. We also had to buy an additional box fan because there weren’t enough for each room.
All in all this place could be great if renovations were finished and basic cleaning, kitchen and air flow supplies were provided. The deck was beautiful, the house was spacious but it needs work and the ac issue was really difficult to deal with but could have been alleviated by cooler weather. Personally I wouldn’t stay there again.

Property manager was there when you need them

I highly discourage anyone from renting this property!!!
Communication was terrible on their part. I arranged for an early check in at 2:30. However, when I arrived there was no power at the house whatsoever. No one was answering my messages for quite some time. I ended up calling the electric company myself and they pinged the house so we could have electricity. I’m not sure if the bill was even paid. We didn’t get electricity until about 6pm!!
The house had minimal pots, pans, cutlery/utensils.
The garbage disposal didn’t work and got backed up. The dishwasher smelled of mildew. There was also mice feces under the kitchen sink.

Perfect location for my sister’s bachelorette party. House was very nice and well maintained and perfect distance for getting into Portland for some fun.
4.3
Lots of space for our group to stay. As noted previously the upstairs was a bit warm. No concerns, we had a lovely stay.

This home was great for a big family. It just lacked kitchen items. And felt it could of been cleaner. Overall we had a good stay

Great Wedding weekend...Steve was wonderful with communications. Easy access to Portland,Freeport ,airport and Turnpike....

We stayed here for a bach party and it worked great for our large group. Definitely recommend bringing warm weather PJs in the upstairs bedrooms, no AC makes it quite toasty in the summer months. The fans provided were helpful.
4.3
The house was big and in a remote area. The outside was not maintained in the grass areas and the deck is starting to rock and weeken. The inside needs to be updated everything is old but functioning
4.3
Very spacious home with lots of room to play board games in one section, ping pong in another, video games in another, and eat a snack at the high top to watch it all! We came up for a family wedding and our part of the family all got to stay together! So fun for a larger family to spend time together in a great part of Maine.

Overall my friends and I were satisfied with our stay. The positives: great location, less than 15min drive to downtown Portland and a beautiful surrounding. The host was communicative and allowed us to check in early which was very helpful! There was a laundry machine for us to use as well.
Neutral points: which we were fully aware of was that there is no AC in the house and it did get quite warm in some of the rooms. The host did provide fans but on the days it was over 80 degrees, AC would’ve been ideal. Another thing is, the kitchen is very nice! But it would’ve been helpful if the kitchen was supplied with some cooking oil, paper towels, and other spices. Just the basics.
Needs improvements: Oof, cleanliness was definitely an issue. There was leftover clothing possibly from a previous owner in one room and the bathrooms didn’t look clean.
The price is affordable and we don’t regret staying here at all! Generally a positive experience.

Our stay was okay but certain things I wish could have been different. The sinks did not drain properly, specifically the kitchen sink which had to be plunged. Owner did offer to send someone to take care of sink but we ended dealing with ourselves because we had early plans. All of the windows should have had screens but some did not, which unfortunately resulted in bugs getting inside. We could feel the heat coming out of the vents in the floor but had no way to turn it off since thermostats were on lowest setting. Overall, the house was adequate for what we needed it for but could have been better if there was A/C and more cleanliness in certain areas.
4.3
This house was adequate for our family, but I cannot recommend it to others.
First, the owner furnished it with the minimum necessary to make the photos look good online. It's a large place, but not enough furniture to make it comfortable, particularly given the number of guests that the listing says it will accommodate.
Second, communicating with the owner was difficult. He was slow to respond to our messages prior to our stay.
Third, the owner did not seem to be staying on top of basic maintenance. Lightbulbs were out throughout, there were ants everywhere, trash was strewn outdoors upon our arrival, and a floor board on the steps is loose.
Fourth, the upstairs bedrooms are very stuffy and uncomfortable. We were there during a relatively cool summer weekend, but the rooms were stifling hot. There is no a/c and the windows barely open.
Lastly, the location is not ideal. While the setting is pretty, the property backs up to I-295. The highway noise is quite loud.
Given how much we paid, we deserved a better experience.

We had a wonderful time visiting with our friends in the open living area and the kids LOVED the indoor cornhole, darts and ping pong! Very clean and had everything we needed!!

It was great! It was for a Bachelorette/ bachelor weekend. It was perfect for the amount of people we had.

This VRBO was great value for just outside of Portland. The house is a little older and lacks AC or any strong fans (possibly a better winter than summer house) which made it hard to sleep as it was definitely warm when we stayed. The size of the house is great though and it fit all of our guests. The living room is open and provides a great place for entertainment. The deck was really cool but I wish there were some more seats or tables to enjoy it more. One small item is that there is no service when you are there so you are reliant on the Wi-Fi. We lost power during a storm and unfortunately had to drive down the road to alert the host. But they were very responsive in trying to help us where they could. Overall, it’s a place with good value that is in shouting distance to Portland. Hard to get this size and price anywhere closer.

Overall the stay was pleasant. House was as described online with plenty of beds and space to accommodate our larger group. Minimal amenities and did not have hot water but the house suited our needs. Then we checked out and I got hit an email listing a $500 additional charge for “broken items, broken pieces scattered thought out the house, broken corn hole boards.” The cornhole boards were broken upon arrival, including a hook on the wall that was clearly holding them up, which was on the ground along with the boards. I then asked for picture clarifications of the broken items scattered throughout the house. I received two pictures of tiny pieces of plastic without attached broken items and a broken ping pong ball. That’s correct, $500 charge for pieces of plastic including a broken ping pong ball. I appealed the charges through Vrbo. The charges were quickly dropped when Vrbo reached out for him to verify showing the validity of his accusations.

Terrific space and amenities for our family gathering. Proximity to Portland was perfect.

Loved the deck!

This property was lovely and convenient. It was such a great get away to connect all my friends together!
4.3
This was a great property that fit our group of 9 perfectly. Plenty of beds, lots of space, great private location.
4.3
There was plenty of room for a large gathering, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms adequate, the home was privately located in the woods, but close to 295 so there was traffic noise. There were some issues with the home but it seems that the owner may be working to improve those issues.
4.3
All in all a good stay. Communication before we checked in was quick and helpful. We had to pull the clean towels out of the dryer, but that was easy! Note to future guests – bring your own kitchen towels, as there were none. The other kitchen dishes and supplies were adequate. Also, the driveway is not marked with a number, that we could see, so closely follow your GPS. Right on the listing for the rental it states that one single twin bed is in a “common area”, which is accurate, as the common space it was located in was the hallway. We didn’t end up needing it anyway, but just so other people know. Thanks for sharing your home with us. It was very secluded and included a beautiful view of snow covered trees during our stay.
4.3
Me and my group had an amazing time staying here! The space was bigger than we thought and there was plenty to do around this area. We put the ring light to good use as well!
4.3
Our family had a wonderful time staying here. It was able to accommodate us all perfectly and gave us a beautiful place to call home for the Christmas week. Everything was so smooth, from booking, to check in, communication and check out. I would definitely stay here again and am grateful for the wonderful experience we had.

My friends and I were looking for a private, secluded nature escape, with bright, airy feel. This home totally fit the bill! Wrap around deck, trees, spacious! Only glitch was DW didn’t work (and we had a lot of dishes) and no heat in upstairs second BR but manager was responsive and apologetic. Could also use some better dishware (bigger coffee mugs, glasses etc). But loved our stay! Thank you!
4.3
Great place for families! 3 bedrooms upstairs (3rd floor) 1 bedroom downstairs and a huge living area on the main floor! We had ample room for our family of 14. Great location too
4.3
This property was in good shape and had what we needed for a quick weekend stay.

Had ten adults in town for a wedding in Portland. House was very spacious And everything went smoothly !
4.3
Great location about 15 min from downtown Portland and convenient to highways for traveling southern Maine.
4.3
Upon arriving to the property, we were initially very impressed by the space. It was closer to Portland than we had initially realized, nice and secluded, and very open with plenty of room for entertaining. Unfortunately, the heat and hot water were both off, so we had to text the property manager and wait for a handyman to get it settled. We were told everything was good, but for the entirety of our stay, we only had heat in the basement and master bedroom. It got into the 40's at night so most of us had to really bundle up. We were also disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the house. We found pet food on the floor of the master bedroom, the area rugs clearly had not been vacuumed, and there were no trash bags for any of the bathrooms. We also attempted to use the oven but had to shut it off because there was something burned to the bottom and it got smokey fast. This place has a lot of potential, but I would not stay here again until they fix the heat and get a new cleaning service.

Great place to bring lots of family together. So open and roomy. Plenty of seating and loved using the ping pong table. Plenty of towels, pillows, beds, and kitchen ware. Lots of windows to let in the cool evening breeze. We absolutely loved our stay. Quick responses from owner was a big plus! Really appreciated its location making it so private. Smart TVs are great to watch favorite show and we had a movie night. So happy to have the washer and dryer. We left so very happy with our stay. Thank you, Maria :)
4.3
The place accommodated the 7 of us easily (& one dog) and the location was within 2 miles of relatives that live in the area or were also in town for my mother's burial so that was what really mattered. However, TV/Cable needs instructions- had a hard time finding ESPN-needed to log into an app. Hand towel for downstairs bathroom was missing but then located on top of dryer upstairs, dish towels for kitchen were in the dryer,& a dirty kitchen sponge was left behind. We never found a new sponge, oven mitts or dishwashing soap or cleaning supplies. If you plan on using outside deck, bring more chairs & tables since there are only 2 chairs and 1 table. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with 2 full bathrooms, 1/2 bath on main floor, no bathroom in basement that has 1 bedroom with the 4 twin beds. This is a great place for a bunch of younger folks who have no intention of cooking/cleaning up afterwards and just want to party. When I contacted service/owner responsible for this property via email,(I received responses from various people) they were replied but weren't very helpful. They just said what the cleaners told them and the cleaners fell short. Things weren't where they said they were and they never addressed the missing items. I was just disappointed in the rental considering the price per night but maybe it was just me since I was burying my mother and I was being over sensitive for every little thing that went wrong.

Rented the house for my sister's bachelorette weekend. There were 10 people staying in the house. There was plenty of room and a nice bug open concept. Plenty of beds and amenities.
We had an unfortunate incident during our stay, but the property manager was very responsive.
The house is great for large groups.
4.3
Spent the weekend with friends for a wedding in Portland. Easy to get to and from the highway. Easy check in and check out process.
4.3
This was perfect for family visiting. My in laws said this place was wonderful. Will be booking again
4.3
The house was as advertised clean and quiet. The only issue was the heat with no air conditioning. Outside of that it was a great spot for a weekend getaway!
4.3
The property was very spacious and only a short drive from Portland. It was the perfect layout for my sister's bachelorette weekend. There was no AC so it was pretty warm in the upstairs bedrooms but overall a great place to stay.

Had a wonderful time staying with my family of 15. Plenty of room, comfortable and clean. Nice place with a good price.
