About this farm stay rental
Dating back to the 17th century, this historic home showcases a wealth of character and charm, remaining home to original exposed beams, cosy woodburners, oak floorboards, and traditional flagstones.
Boasting amazing panoramic views, best seen from the sizeable country garden with Jacuzzi hot tub, this spacious home offers the perfect escapism for families, couples or groups of friends.
Hatterrall Farmhouse is a luxury bolthole from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park ( just 400m away), walk the Offa's Dyke path, wander around the quaint market towns of Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye, and Crickhowell, or explore Herefordshire's most famous sights, including Hereford Cathedral, Chase Distillery and black and white villages.
INSIDE
Step in through the oak front door onto the flagstones into the cosy dining room, with statement red brick fireplace, piano, and long oak table with seating for 8, perfect for evening's spent entertaining. The dining room leads off to a spacious living room with oak beams, a unique stone fireplace and log burner, a 55" smart TV, and comfortable seating for 8.
Off the central hallway there is a warm and inviting snug, perfect for reading in front of the fire, playing board games with the family, or enjoying a DVD. The hallway also leads to the heart of the home, the spacious, open-plan kitchen diner. The kitchen includes a Belling range cooker with electric hob, built-in under-the-counter fridge, dishwasher and the usual kitchen mod-cons, including a Nespresso coffee machine. The kitchen leads around to a further reception area, the hand-crafted oak frame sunroom - relax on the comfortable sofas waiting for your tea to brew as the low morning sun streams across the oak floorboards.
The utility room offers further space, with a larder cupboard, an area perfect for making cocktails, a freestanding fridge-freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Head through the quirky wooden door to the back off the house, where you’ll find a traditional boot room, perfect for storing your coats and wellies after a walk.
Upstairs you’ll find four idyllic bedrooms; the master, with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, a second spacious room with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, a third room with another king-size bed, and a final bedroom with a zip-link king bed which can be made into two narrow (75cm wide) single beds upon request, perfect for children and young adults. In-between the third and fourth bedrooms is a family bathroom with bath and bidet. Downstairs there is a further shower room.
OUTSIDE
Open the patio doors leading off the living room and enter into the oak-framed pavilion, the ideal setting for summer suppers or simply sipping your morning coffee while listening to the sounds of nature. Enjoy dining al fresco on the spacious patio, complete with a barbecue grill and outdoor furniture. The pièce de resistance is the incredible Jacuzzi hot tub, made for easing muscles whilst watching the sun descend and the stars appear - totally dreamy!
Expansive grounds surround the farmhouse, where a trickling fish pond (covered in netting for child-safety) offers opportunity for a peaceful moment. Take leisurely walks to the wildlife pond, breathe in the fresh country air, and soak in the serenity of the landscape. Discover hidden trails or simply relax in the oak-framed gazebo that sits at the end of the lavender-lined path, the perfect place to read a book, enjoy a morning coffee, and admire the views of the rugged Black Mountains that tower behind.
There is comfortable parking for up to four cars, including space for two in the garage and two more on the shared courtyard at the front of the house. We also have an electric vehicle charger on site which guests are welcome to use (based on prior arrangement, where fees apply). Due to the property’s location on a working farm, in close proximity to wildlife ponds, please supervise children.

Great stay in a lovely house. Large, spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Feels like a cared-for home. Plenty of different living spaces (inside and outside). Large and very well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Glorious views from the house and colourful garden (in summer). Lots of walks from the back door or a short drive away. Good local shop and pub. Very responsive host. Nice welcome pack. Would love to go back.
