Mega!

Maplestone is a quaint building, easy to find. We were in The Potter’s Shed which was just beautiful. Seperate lounge, bathroom, WC and bedroom.
All very comfortable with great furnishings. A lovely touch to have fresh milk in the fridge. Alan was lovely- very welcoming and helpful.

Beautifully appointed warm comfortable room. Superb host and delicious breakfast
Soft close loo seat didn't stay up and might need attention as a little frustrating to have to hold it up with your knee!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this delightful B&B. Alan is the perfect host, welcoming and attentive and a font of all knowledge of the local area, including recommendations of local places to visit, including Nunney and Bradford-on-Avon and places to eat in Shepton Mallet (highly recommend The Mughal Empire). Our extremely spacious room was wonderful, with a very comfortable bed with high quality bedding, settee and arm chairs. Free tea, coffees, biscuits (generously replenished daily), milk (in a little fridge) and ‘welcome’ slice of cake were all gratefully appreciated, as well as the luxurious complementary ‘Duck Island’ toiletries and soft, fluffy towels. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower powerful with plenty of hot water. Alan’s attention to detail is second to none and he is very accommodating to his guests’ needs, for example, regarding breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. His fig compote, poached pears, cooked breakfast and homemade fig jam were all such a treat!
The location of the B&B is quietly tucked away but within easy walking distance of town, and perfect for visiting, Wells, Bath and Frome.
We highly recommend this beautiful B&B and would not hesitate to return. Thank you Alan for a perfect stay.

Breakfast was great. Alan had everything you could want, delicious coffee, muesli, toast, and a cooked-to-order breakfast. Most importantly, it was all really good quality even down to simple things like the bread. A lot of the items were home made too.
The interior design was well done. The place has clearly been put together with some care and personal interest. The room was a good size, and the bed comfy. It was also pretty much spotless, which is always a plus.
The place itself was a little tricky to find, and parking might be difficult at certain times, but once inside the garden of Maplestone you are transported into a little oasis of calm. I really don't have anything bad to say about the property or the stay.

We were greeted on arrival and offered tea and coffee in the garden which was a joy.
The owner has knowledge of local area and local eateries, he has also tried them and gives good reviews which is so helpful.
Breakfast was divine, most produce is locally sourced a lot of time and effort is put in to things. The devil is in the details. He asks your preferences and delivers. Beautifully maintained property, amazing garden. Decor is well thought out and executed. Bed was so comfortable. Water pressure amazing. The location is quiet and relaxing.

Wow! What a fantastic B&B! The furnishings and decor were top notch, super comfy beds, and the garden patio area was absolutely gorgeous! Alan was a superb host - we enjoyed our visit with him very much! He recommended a great Indian restaurant that was a short walk away, and the food there was delicious! Alan had a wonderful breakfast in the morning for us. Overall we were delighted with our stay. We wished we could have stayed for another night!
There was nothing we didn't like!

Alan is a good and friendly host. He served great breakfast - even with good toasted bread (no "toast") and self cooked delicious compote. The view from the nice old building into the small garden was so lovely. Alan cared for every detail.
Nothing I can think of.

On arrival I stepped through the gates to a beautiful garden and a very nice welcome from Alan who offered me tea in the garden. I was shown to my room which was stunning. After a long day driving the room was perfect and had everything I needed, even a nice slice of homemade cake. Had a great night sleep and received 5 star treatment in the morning which a cracking breakfast. Alan was great to talk to and made me feel very welcome. I will defiantly stay again once I am back in the area.

Alan was the perfect host. He made us feel very wellcome and spent time helping us to find the local attractions we required. We left Maplestone feeling like we had stayed with a relative. Well done.
Steepness of stairs but nothing can be done about that, it added to the charm of the building.

Maplestone is a beautiful period property with an amazing garden. The proprietor Alan was attentive, personable and knowledgeable about the area/events and could advise the best routes, parking and transport options. Everything was provided to enable a relaxing stay. The property is 5 minutes walk from centre of town where there are outlets, a large supermarket, restaurants and coffee shops. We felt 'at home' and comfortable. There was a mixed nationality at the breakfast table which made for interesting and humorous conversation to start our day helped along with a lovely breakfast.
Thank you Alan.

This is SUCH a lovely BnB. It's a gorgeous building with lovely furnishings and a beautiful garden. Alan is the best BnB owner I've ever met! So thoughtful and welcoming while not being at all overbearing. The breakfast is phenomenally good too. I would highly recommend it - it's incredibly good value and a lovely experience all round.

I can highly recommend Maplestone as an absolutely beautiful and very comfortable bed and breakfast. The building itself is gorgeous and decorated with great attention to detail. The breakfasts were amazing with something for all appetites and the owner Alan was a very friendly and accommodating host. Maplestone’s location is perfect, it’s a short walk from Shepton Mallet town and is a great base to explore the surrounding area such as Wells, Glastonbury and lots of other lovely places. If you want to go into Bath without taking the car there is a regular bus service.

The building itself is very old and charming, but well kept. And Alan is welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and it's travel routes etc.
Both me and my friend had a wonderful time with no complaints.
