Very nice. Accommodating my whole family comfortably. Great bones in this older home. Close to everything. Could have used a full propane tank however we cooked inside. Wanted to reserve same week next year but already spoken for at this time. A bit pricey but we enjoyed the week. Weather was fantastic.

We were a group of old college friends, most of whom had not visited Cape Charles. All loved the town and the house. We had a few nit-picks about the house that we communicated in-person. We made great use of the front porch and the kitchen was a wonderful gathering area. The house was clean and well-appointed and the property manager was very responsive during our visit. We would highly recommend Tazewell House for any large group/family gathering.

We had four families with seven children and this house provided lots of space and rooms and bathrooms for everyone to spread out and enjoy. We’ve stayed in many houses in Cape Charles before and this was definitely top notch!

I’m glad I read the previous review RIGHT before our arrival, so then I knew 1) toaster did not work 2) BIG BIG BIG ant problem (and a couple cockroaches)- everywhere- including a bedroom- pretty sure it followed us home. There were ant traps in the bedroom so this must not be a new issue for them. 3) tub/shower not draining 4) the landscaping needed some work. 5) dining room could not seat all of us. I was told there was a pack and play at the property by property management- but there was not. The area is wonderful, the house is extremely spacious. Thought we booked a gem, but it was just so, so.

I grew up in an older home, so when we found the Tazewell House, it was the next best thing to heaven and we felt right at home. It is a spacious beautiful home and a great location not too far from the water I would like to suggest a few things, the entire outside of the house needs to be power washed including the porch. The yard was poorly maintained and overgrown in order to keep sand out of the house. We use the hose in the front yard to spray the children off before they went in the house. It would be a positive for the owner to put a simple outdoor shower in . When we arrived, I felt like the downstairs was not clean properly. There was sand on the furniture as well as the floor. The kitchen trashcan was filthy . The bedroom that my husband and I stayed in had bathroom problems. The sink and tub did not drain well and the toilet would flush, but it would continue to run. The management was very dedicated and trying to fix the problem but I don’t think the problem was ever fixed. There was also a bug and ant problem in the house and honestly it needs to be addressed. The toaster in the kitchen did not work. These are all very minor things. The last thing I would like for the company to note is when you rent toward the end of the summer it does not look the same as if you rented at the beginning of the summer I almost feel like in someway the rent should be less. This is just a thought.

Perfect vacation home! We had a group of 6 families with 8 children and there was plenty of space to spread out. It was great that each family could have their own bathroom as well. Short walk to the main strip, and easy golf cart ride to get to the beach. Easy check in and check out process.

The Tazewell House is a gorgeous home with lovely comfortable furnishings and beds. We all loved the charm and style of the home and it stands out as one of our favorite vacation homes. A few tweaks would make it better like more chairs for the dining room so our large group could dine together and regular size coffee mugs, and maybe quieter room AC units for a few of the bedrooms. The town itself is quaint and driving around in golf carts was a blast for the kids.
