Really ruff and uneven parking lot, especially near entry door in corner. Large room. Decent stay otherwise, middle of the road. Good value. Just needs "no smoking" signs bc folks tend to smoke near doors. Hard to escape. Not hotels fault, but at least post several signs so inconsiderates get the hint

Not a good place to stay

It was fine for the price. Definitely older furniture, which I'm good with. The mattress was comfortable enough. The pillows were very hard though. It's an old building, so there was a lot of noise--footsteps upstairs, old plumbing sounds whenever anyone used water, and, of course, the train which will be audible from any hotel in town. It's a decent cheap option for one night.

The hotel is way out on the west end of Old 66, so it's not really walkable to downtown. Not a problem with a car, of course. Railway goes right by, and the trains do sound their horns, so if you're a light sleeper, that's a problem. It's an older facility, weathered on the outside but clean inside. Beds need replacing (they're a bit on the hard outside kind of thing). Really nice folks. Breakfast wasn't worth it, but we always eat out anyway.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, comfortable bed. good shower, fridge and microwave. Outdated coffee machine, minimal coffee (1bag) tv hard to tune, pillows small, no ice machine. Little bit regimental re checkout knocking on door at 10.50. Cheap stay. You can hear train so bring earplugs not a problem for us and hotel not at fault for this. Didn’t eat breakfast - believe it’s cereal complementary and you pay for cooked breakfast.

Nice clean room.

The hotel is outdated. The furnishings were very old and there were no plugs to charge a phone. The biggest issue was the AC. Only after we spent the night hit and miserable did I figure out that it would work but only on low.

Only needed the one night. Pillows too soft. Next to railroad which woke me several times during the night. Advertised full breakfast. Not so. Very little options were available.

While this property was very close to the train tracks, that was true of every hotel/motel in Gallup, so if staying in Gallup, the noise of the train was everywhere. That being said, I only heard the train a few times overnight, and the daytime trains just became part of the scenery. Parking was right outside my room, where I could keep an eye on my car, and the proprietors were both friendly and very helpful.

We booked an accessible room unfortunately they booked it prior to our arrival. They attempted to notify us immediately but we didn't get Hotels.com notification until the next day. However, the gentleman at the counter was so sweet and helpful he took us to a nearby room to see if we could use it. While it wasn't accessible, it definitely worked for one night. Thank you!!!

Clean polite people

The front lobby smells like you’re in India there’s no icemaker. You have to ask for the ice from the front desk which I think came out of their refrigerator. Just a cheap room to lay down and rest on the road. Just a basic place to stay.

When we booked the stay it says breakfast included, but it was continental breakfast which was misleading. To get hot breakfast you had to pay extra. It wasn’t much, but I was disappointed that it was misinformative. For the price we paid it was ok and I would recommend for a night or 2.

When I checked in the employee was nice. The room was clean although the furnishings and building is very outdated. I had such an uneasy feeling the entire time. Maybe because I was alone, but I didn’t feel comfortable and left early the next morning. I think it’s “okay” if you desperately need a place to crash for a few hours ( and can block out the trains) but it is not a leisure, vacation place to stay.

Seedy part of town, front desk person barely looked at me even though it was my reservation and credit card.He chose to interact with my adult son instead. He was sarcastic and condescending. Room was old but decent.

Very nice family running this motel :) Provides many amenities and little things (body lotion, shower cap, etc) that many pricier places omit nowadays; that a basic breakfast is included at this price is quite generous! Wonderfully thick and fluffy towels. Older building and decor but everything very clean and functional. My room had 2 wingback chairs and a recliner (!). Only comment is that the walls are thin and you can hear louder neighbors (e.g. the family next door with young kids), but everyone quieted down after 10pm and I slept soundly. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Nice proprietors. Old school. They keep it clean.

An older Route 66 motel, no doubt higher end. There has been good effort to keep the place as nice as possible. If you want a basic, decent place at half the price of nearby motels, this is as good as it gets.

I had a nice stay. The hotel is older, but run by a very nice family. They have redone the rooms and everything was very clean! If you are on a budget, I would recommend this place. No complaints here!

Loved this place! The room was huge and so comfortable!

The hotel is older, but it was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and a good price. The manager is very nice and welcoming.
Breakfast was Continental, so not a lot of choices, but the manager offered to make scrambled eggs also.
We would stay again.

The Price is Right
This is an older property that is maintained and cleanly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The check-in was quick and smooth. The pool is apparently under some kind of construction (but I knew this from the description before booking). The area this is located in isn't particularly nice and is very close to a frequented railroad, but there are other hotels in the area and I felt relatively safe.
Overall, a good, inexpensive, overnighter hotel. But I wouldn't stay here for a vacation.

Friendly staff, large room , comfortable bed , hot shower, you receive a lot for the money.

I was happily greeted and the room was so welcoming!

Very large comfortable room. The mattress was very good. The room had three comfortable easy chairs. Everything worked. The only problem was the trains that went by at night. But my portable white noise machine took care of that.

I wasnt sure what to expect as I had brought a pet (first hotel allowing pets) and was looking for an inexpensive hotel available on the same day. Check in was fast and the staff was very nice. The room was neat, and other guests were friendly. I was very plelased.

Motel is in a little rough shape, but it’s clean, quiet and staff are polite and friendly. Clean is what’s most important to us.

Only down was not much for breakfast
6.0 / 10.0
After a long drive, I was disappointed to pull into this property. Overall, it is run-down and uninviting. There's a dilapidated old pool house in the parking lot that's no longer operational. The hotel interior has not been kept up, including old carpet and upholstered chairs that I didn't want to sit on. The Continental breakfast is scant and is served in the small lobby. The ice machine doesn't work.
On the positive side, the room met our basic requirements – comfortable enough bed, refrigerator, hair dryer upon request (though it was a wall model, detached from the wall), easy parking, close to downtown Gallup.
This place must have been grand and welcoming at one point in time, but sadly it has decayed and not been given the resources and attention needed to make for an enjoyable stay. I would not stay here again.

This is a vintage property that is well maintained. Safe and clean is what we were looking for at a budget price. Satisfied customer here.

Older hotel, but the room looked better than the exterior. I thought there would be a morning breakfast, but I saw a sign saying there was a separate fee for that. I left early, and the lobby was not open when I left anyway. It was ok for a place to get some sleep and a morning shower before getting on the road.

Ah, a throwback to simpler, nicer times. This hotel is one of those places that was no doubt abuzz with activity back in the Route 66 heydays. Now it's unfortunately bypassed and pretty quiet, much like the Route is.
That said, it's a gem amongst stones. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The owners were friendly and welcoming.
Yes, the decor wasn't up-to-the-minute and there was some wear showing on the building. But, it was very clean and everything worked fine. I made an extra effort to also stay here a second time on my return trip.
Why stay in an ugly utilitarian box chain motel down the road for more money? Just stay here and support local businesses and families. This is a nicer hotel, has a nice local owner, and is a bargain compared to the corporate boxes. You won't regret it. Cheers!

I liked that it was close to shopping and food with a sonic right next door, however the refrigerator did not seem to work and the one ice machine we found did not work so we had to go to the office for ice.

Clean, pleasant owner, easy access from highway. Heat in room hard to regulate, loud train noises, clock didn’t work.
8.0 / 10.0
Parking lot unpaved, but rooms are adequate and the staff is friendly.

Works for a good night of sleep!
Privately run - the owners are motivated and friendly, too.
Old building but well maintained. Close to the railroad, bring earplugs if you’re sensitive (like me).
Spacious rooms, well equipped for a 2-star. Good beds!
Breakfast had really few options, but enough to kick you off!
