The hotel claimed that there were 6 restaurants and that they would be open until 10. There were only 2 "restauranrs" at the resort which were just tikki huts that served food. They had one real restaurant "on the property" but you had to take a golf cart, car or walk 15 minutes there. The website claimed the pools were open until 10 but closed at dusk, 5:30. The hotel claimed to have 5 pools but we only found 2. Staff was nice and hotel was clean but so disappointed in the false advertising.

Lots of construction going on so a couple things weren’t open.

Fantastic resort. Loved all the opportunities to watch the dolphins. Variety of pools and activities was great. Best experience at a hotel.

Place was nice but needs to have more covered areas to congregate in case of bad weather .

Wish we would have known prior to arriving that most of the onsite restaurants and one bar was closed and under construction. I was expecting luxury from website and referrals, not what i would call luxury. Hallway carpet was dirty and worn. Definite need of some upgrades. Dan Sullivan, guitarist on Thurs night was great, otherwise entertainment on Fri and Sat. Was lacking and not what I had expected. Appeared to be very short staffed with limited, pool service.

Loud construction all day.Sea lice in lagoon in back entire family got rashes. Food and drinks on hotel grounds extremely over priced. I was super disappointed with this hotel.

Great resort overall. Loved the adults only spot
2.5
Absolutely beautiful top of the line place to stay. But super expensive per night, and food and drinks were super high prices. $20plus burgers, $20plus mixed drinks, served by a crabby waitress.

Amazing vacation at Hawks Cay Resort. Cannot wait until next year to go again. The property landscaping was beautiful. The staff were so nice and friendly. Dolphins on site were the cherry on top. So many things to do there or book on site.

The resort is beautiful and comfortable. We had a lovely time, and the staff was efficient and polite.
The only drawback was that the adults only pool closed around noon for a wedding, and remained closed for the rest of the day. The regular pool was packed, and it was impossible to find a chair anywhere. So, my plans to lounge by the pool all day were cut short, which was disappointing.

The property is very clean & kept up. The drinks are a little pricey.

I thought the room was beautiful and well taken care of by the cleaning crew throughout our stay. I didn't love that the pool closed at 8. With all of the beautiful lighting around the pool areas, I don't think closing at 9 would be out of the question.
Also, the first day we were there, we had to vacate the adult pool at 1 pm because of a wedding. I think that was a big ask considering the family pool was super overcrowded. Another day the adult pool was closed for maintenance. So 2 days out of our 5 day stay was a lot to miss out on that pool. Also the elevator was broken for an entire day. I was a bit dissapointed with the "beach" as it was advertised I was expecting a bit more than a small lagoon.
Other than that, Hawsks Cay is beautiful. Staff was very professional and helpful in the marketplace, front desk, cleaning and doorman.

Parking lots fill up fast and theres a short walk. Place needs more parking and more golf carts taking residents to hotel, especially in 90 degree weather. The small man made beach beach next to the pool is great for photos, but the water itself was nasty with a lot of grounded seaweed, the sand was so rough it hurt the bottom of my feet. Water shoes are definitely recommended. The room key bracelet of one of the couples who traveled with us did not work the first three times upon arrival, and when it finally did, they had given them a room that already had people in it! The staff around the pool seemed unmotivated. The drinks by the pool were premixed and tasted low quality, drinks at bar by the restaurant however were better. All food we had at pool, mini market, and restaurant was excellent! I would return for the food alone. The adult pool closed at 12pm the one day we spent all day at the pool, due to a wedding. I really wish they would have informed us of this, as we would have rebooked for another weekend. There were too many kids splashing water on and around us, on one occasion, the pool water landed in my beverage! The location is decent compared to most places in the keys. The carpets in the hallways of the rooms were disgustingly stained. The nearest exit to out room on the first floor smelled like sewage. Eww, need to get this issue handled, and one of the guest elevators was down.

Great place for family vacation! Lots of activities to do at the resort to keep everyone occupied. The Resort pool was very busy and because of this, not as clean. Lots of garbage on the pool deck, which wasn't cleaned up by those who left them there nor the staff. Preferred the quieter Coral Cay pool, but the food & beverages on this side didn't quite compare to the ones at Resort pool. Food from the Tiki grill was very good. Portions are shareable between 2-3 people depending on appetite. Staff are very friendly and kind. Thank you to Janile who made our time at the Resort pool so enjoyable, Marsha at the front desk who welcomed us warmly and all the staff at the Coral Cay Activities and Adventures Centre who were simply awesome!

The room was great, the hallway needs some serious updating. Swimming with the dolphins was very fun!

Great hotel for families with children 12 and under. The lagoon and pool and dolphins are great for kids and families.
Teens and couples might wish to seek other options

Great vacation, everything was good and chilling, except the adult only pool was under maintenance and we couldn’t use it for the last day, we stayed at resort, it was very disappointing. Overall 4 stars!

I was looking for a nice hotel to spend with my family so I asked a coworker, she recommended this place. I have to say I was very pleased. One of the first things I look for when I stay in a hotel is cleanliness. I was stunned to see how clean everything was and how nice the room looked. The pool area was stunning, with lots of room to accommodate everyone. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely make this a yearly outing with the family every year before kids go back to school.

We have gone to Havana cabana in key west for the last 2 years so we decided to try somewhere different , Hawks Cay was supposed to be one of the best in keys. We booked 4 nights, Left after the 1st night and went and stayed at Havana cabana. Not at all worth the money , food was wildly overpriced and nowhere near the quality of what you can get all throughout the keys,

The prices of the food are beyond to compare with other places. The resort is good and the services great.

Excellent resort. Grounds are beautiful including the ocean and lagoon. Very nice beachside tiki bar for
Drinks and food. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Couple suggestions would be to allow access to gym/locker room showers. We had to head to the airport with sun screen and pool/ocean water all over us. Also, there’s no access to a business area including printers if needed. Otherwise great resort and we’d come back!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Property was a little worn. Our villa had broken window blinds, a broken dining chair, locks on the sliding doors didn’t work properly and a few other small issues which were in need of fixing. Location of property was convenient to attractions and dining. There were a lot of amenities on the property to take advantage of and enjoy.

I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't think it was going to be as great as it was.
Next time we will get a villa.

We had a great time at this place our only two complains are that when we got there our room was ready but when my daughter went to the bunk bed it had dog pee on the blanket so they have to have us another room and also that after 6 everything for kids is closed. Not even an arcade after that time so we have 3 kids 12,7 and 6 and they wanted to do something else and there wasn’t much to do than eat and walk.
2.5
We enjoyed our stay with our family of four. The resort is stunning. We stayed for a few days at the end of a two-week trip and would have loved an on-site laundry facility for guests. The pools are nice, and the property is very clean. Food is great if you plan on eating poolside, which is a nice added touch. Highly recommend
