Front desk was not pleasant at all during check-in…..border line rude. Door to the room (912) sticks, so you have to lean into it to open it, and slam it so it will close. I actually apologized to a staff member who watched me close the door loudly, and she just simply said “yah it has been like that for awhile”.

Lovely room. Very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is the single ply toilet paper. Seems cheap for a higher end hotel. Additionally, breakfast didn’t seem to be available even though they said it was, so we ate somewhere else.

Nice hotel, good location. Restaurant had good breakfasts. One day great service; one day service was abysmal. Not sure if it was the fault of our wait person or the kitchen. My instinct is the kitchen because our waitress was otherwise very good appeared embarrassed by the time it took to deliver our meal.

We were there with our mother who needed a wheel chair accessible room. Upon arrival at 3:00 PM the room was not ready and took 30 minutes after official check in time (3:00 PM) before they allowed us into our room even though they had said it had been pritorized the day before as we called to let them know our mother needed to get into the room as soon as possible. We understand not having an early Check in available, however, not having the room available after the designated check in time is intolerable. When we asked for a manager we were told there would not be anyone there until the day we checked out (two days later). The room itself was not very wheelchair accessible as it was narrow in areas, even the table in the room was a high top table with stools, not one someone with a wheelchair would be able to utilize. We are extremely disappointed with the room and the service.

As planned our check in was 11:30pm. The staff had let 2 cars park in the 2 spots out front and would not move until 4am. These are the only 2 spots for unloading baggage, and a safety concern. This needs to be fixed. Your building signage is also very poor and not the same name as The Hollis Halifax a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel. It took me 3 trips around the block to figure out where the hotel was..

Great location. Accessible to all the great spots of Halifax. The rating for good vs excellent. The room was dated. Curtains were stained, water damage in the bathroom, fan didn’t work in the bathroom. Defiantly have had better rooms at other hotels for same price and better condition. Also. Not continental breakfast. A bit of a disappointment.

Overpriced, more than 1000 CAD for 2 nights, room is spacious, however one of the beds was broken. Experience at the new restaurant was not great as we waitied for almost an hour for food.

This hotel is in walking distance to a lot of the downtown Halifax attractions and restaurants. So if walking is your thing this place is great! We had a partial Harbour view and it was lovely. I loved how our room came with a living room so there was plenty of space. I also loved the rain shower but it could benefit from a removable shower head too. But overall a good stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hollis. We wanted a room overlooking the harbour and our view did not disappoint. Our room was spacious and within easy walking distance of many shops/restaurants. Restaurant left something to be desired. It also would have been nice is the valet parking attendant met us at the car and helped bring the bags in.

Upon arriving, there was only 1 staff member for check ins with a long line up with a lengthy wait time. Hot tub was NOT working, we were not notified before our stay or when we checked in. Room was basically falling apart, every time you opened a cupboard it fell off the hinges. One part of the room was freezing while the other was a sauna. The pool was a mess - no clean towels and tons of dirty ones lying around. Extremely disappointed in our stay!!!!

To start there was no heat. It’s 5 degrees outside bit turned off the heat so had two very loud portable heaters to make it tolerable. The room is not fully clean. The many surfaces have markings and stickiness from food and drinks and even after three nights they were never wiped down. They tolerate kids running around at all hours of the night slamming doors. The hot tub is non functional and the restaurant has limited selection but food is good. Their prices are within the local market which is why i was surprised to see a 4$ perperson charge for coffee at breakfast especially when it is free in the lobby and my wife does not drink coffee. I felt ripped off. There is a lot better for the price in this city.

The room look great upon arrival, decor was nice. Noticed the fine details of broken furniture, bubbled wall under window indicated water leak, looking further the wallpaper was peeling and black mold covering the walls. Specifically booked a hotel for hot tub, the hot tub was not filled for use. Staff was in throughout our stay to tidy the room which was nice. Staff was pleasant but a lot of miscommunication. For the price that was paid, we expected more attention to details.
