Had a great stay overall. Breakfast was the best and service was top class. Staff were all very friendly

The hotel was really clean, they could get a 5.5/5 for that. However the breakfast options were kind of limited and monotonous. And some staff were not always that welcoming. Additionally, the works around the centurion lake were not quite a sight to look at.

I was disappointed in my stay at this supposed 4 star hotel. The rooms don’t offer water and was very dated. More than half my stay there was no power which meant there were no lights and limited power since the generator couldn’t sustain the period of no power. The dated rooms suggest that this is perhaps a 3 star. Even the barman was surprised that the the hotel which did not allow room service required that guests go down to the bar to buy water. The bathrooms need a makeover and if there’s a shower in the bath it should at least have a shower arm.

Hotel safe and near a mall. Breakfast at the table with a large choice (buffet closed due to Covid). Park car locked.

Hotel premises are closed due to flood damage 9/12, so unable to stay. No prior warning or contact made by Hotel or Hotels.com prior to arrival

Just a quick one night stay over for business, the service was great. Wifi was good. The hotel is a little old and needs a face lift. Breakfast was sufficient but nothing fancy.

Very nice, quiet hotel with clean rooms, nice views, wifi, and great breakfast buffet! Free shuttle to Netcare UNITAS hospital and other sites close by. 15-20 minutes from downtown Pretoria.

I was disappointed with the amenities - not very convenient to business travelers who have very little time in the room. I had to request an iron and ironing board after I checked in at 9:30 PM. By 6:00 AM the hotel called my room to ask for it back! I was awake as I had an early day - but I presume a lot of travelers after flying for 16 hours and arriving at night would have still been sleeping at that time! Needless to say my clothes luckily were not so wrinkled that I needed to iron them. If I had to - I would not have had time! The hairdryer resides in a drawer with no access to a mirror. I had to beg to have a hairdryer brought to my room that I could plug in with access to mirror! Also the breakfast order was wrong two of the three mornings.

Hotel is well sited for Criterion station and the rugby and cricket stadia. They offer a varied buffet dinner and their breakfasts are adequate.
The one negative is the "Lake" which was man-made and has now been taken over by vegetation.

I have been coming to the Centurion Lake Hotel for around 5 years - about 5 times a year so it can't be bad!
Admittedly I come on business only. The rooms are well appointed, clean- practical for working and plugging in technology. If anything doesn't work the staff see to it immediately - so great service.
The surroundings are very pleasant, with a large outside terrace area and infinity pool. I often meet work colleagues here.
There is an excellent shopping mall just accross the car park which you can walk to, which is also really convenient.
I really only have one criticism and that is I'd like them to vary the inroom dining menu, which I've done to death!

Really nice hotel, the staff are all incredibly polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is also very secure.Smart, contemporary rooms with good wi-fi for laptops/ipads etc and air-con. The beds were also very comfortable, although I did end up storing the plush duvet in the wardrobe, in favor of the sheets as it was over 30C outside! The Breakfast was very good, and the evening meals superb, with a good buffet selection of European/Afrikaans salads, meats and fish, deserts etc. If a buffet is not your thing, then the hotel is next-door to a major shopping complex with every possible type of restaurant imaginable.Great for a business traveler as is well located between Midrand and Pretoria, and near the science parks. I needed several taxis over the week, and the hotel have their own validated taxi drivers who drove me to/from meetings/airport etc. This also worked out much cheaper then just hailing a cab, and was billed to my room, saving on those cash expenses!

Hotel is comfortable and well-suited to foreign visitors. It is a short walk to a mall that features a number of restuarants from very nice to casual. Outdoor dining overlooking the lake is an option at most these. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive.

My previous review is still posted. There is no change here (except the GM) except the Menu in the Restaurant is new. However do not expect a gourmet experience!

At around 200 metres from Supersport Park the hotel is ideal for a relaxing few days at the cricket. The hotel is mainly used by business travellers and for conferences however and solo travellers won't find it the liveliest place. The common parts could do with updating, even though the bar has some interesting South African cricket memorabilia. The restaurant is functional but there was a wide choice at the breakfast buffet. The pool could do with being a bit more private, it's hardly relaxing when you have a horde of conference delegates breathing down your neck but it was clean and well maintained. The staff were unfailing helpful and were happy to extend check out times or provide shower facilities for people with late flights. Wifi is available in the lounge and terrace area on surprisingly good terms and there are car hire and tours and excursions facilities on site.

During my stay, the hotel was full to capacity every night and seems to be very popular with business and tourists alike. During my visit, 40+ students from the USA (and all well-behaved!) decended on the place, all seemingly sponsered by the Discovery Channel if that's any recommendation. Apart from one cheeky waiter who saw no wrong in requesting 'something for me', the level of service was generally good, especially the front desk. Rooms with lake views are the best option, though this could be improved if they gave the lake a little clean!
