The first room had a toilet that did not work. I doubt I was the first one to report this however this was the room I was given. I did move to a new room. The hotel looks worn and sad and I was disappointed as I have stayed at other Country Inn hotels and they were fine. This is a franchise hotel and it showed as one, old carpet and the walls could use new paint. The office chair was very worn and the fake leather was worn away. I doubt a thrift store would accept the office chairs.

Friendly staff, clean. The only inconveniences were lack of towels in the pool, and no juices at breakfast. The food was hot, and had good flavor. Beds were comfortable.

Hotel room was your average hotel room. Desk chair leather was peeling off and looked atrocious. Fridge wasn’t very cold and cabinets to fridge and microwave wouldn’t stay closed which caused a problem with our 2 year old closing and getting hit in the face. Hair dryer was broken and could t be used. Breakfast was disappointing. We arrived at breakfast 45min after opening and there were 5 plates available. No juice or water because the machine was broken so only option to drink was coffee or tea. Asked receptionist and was told it was just broken and not given any other alternative. The waffle mixture was almost empty so had to stand there forever trying to get the cup full and once made did not taste good. Sugar free syrup was empty. 3 options for cereal and one of them was mixed with 2 different kinds. Lots of other options for hotels in the area so will not be staying here again. Now have to go find breakfast elsewhere at an extra expense. Would not recommend for families.

It was a decent stay. The pillows w were not big or comfortable and the furniture was a bit beat up. Overall it our stay was adequate.

EXTREMELY overpriced for the room. The tub was disgusting and that was one of the reasons we chose the room we did. The chairs in the room had stains. The floor in the bathroom looked dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned. The staff had an attitude every time I asked a question (another pillow). Got an attitude when I asked for a cup for tea, and brought up that the “HOT WATER” was ice cold. I had stayed here before and I thought it would be a good choice but after this weekend I don’t want to go back.

I was expecting a lot more for that price. Carpet in the room, hallway and out of the elevator are very dirty. Bathroom is not in a good condition, specifically the toilet. It is like management is doing only the strictly necessary to look somehow good, but on the end it is pretty obvious that there is a lack of maintenance and proper cleaning.

With the nice weather that Iowa is still having it was disappointing seeing that the fire pit was already wrapped up for winter and not able to be used. Every time we went to the pool we had to ask for more towels, and then staff would only bring in like 6-8 towels. and on Sunday morning I went back to the pool to find again no towels and went to the front desk. Talked to others that had waited over 30 minutes for staff to show up (it was 7:40 AM) and breakfast was not ready. Breakfast doors did not open up until well after 8:30. This was a huge disappointment. Not sure who didn't show up but there were alot of staff that lacked on Sunday morning. But to have no one available for over 1 hour after calling the front desk, ringing the front desk bell, just not acceptable.

The hotel was extremely over priced because of fair in town. $350.00 per night!!!!! Carpets were stained in the hallways, bed covers were dirty and lumpy, chair was so worn half the leather was gone. Water cooler had no cups or water.

Worn and tired. Property needs updating and cleaner. Staff needs training. Stay elsewhere until changes are made.

Room was clean, but hotel was somewhat run-down. The desk chair was literally falling apart. The plastic surface was peeling off all over the chair and falling on the floor, so we put it out in the hallway. The carpet was stained in halls and in the room. The coffee in the lobby was terrible. I wouldn't stay there again.

Everything about my stay was satisfactory, apart from the items listed below, Everything worked and was clean, however presentation is everything.
On entering my room I instantly noted that the rubbish bin was not empty. It was only an empty small water bottle and old room keys bit I saw it straight away. Then there was the TV remote, it was missing. This was instantly rectified at the front desk but it meant I was watching TV on the wrong aspect ratio.
Finally the high (low) point, the desk chair. The vinyl covering was peeling off the back and totally missing from the seat, not an appealing picture.

Hot tub/pool was closed for maintenance. Wasn't told this until after I checked in. Waited at front desk to check in for 30 min. Had to call hotel phone # to get someone to come to front desk. Room I booked wasn't cleaned from previous guests. Didn't have another room available with same # of beds. Was finally offered 2 rooms to = the # of beds I needed. Toilet was clogged in new room. The staff wouldn't unclog it for me. They gave me a plunger to do it myself. Would not return to this hotel. Don't recommend.
