Very nice place to stay for a visit to Ames (or surrounding area). Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was clean and appeared to be well cared for. Short drive to campus and pretty easy commute even for football games. I would call it a “no frills” place but is a very nice place to stay and is a good value. Would book here again.

Friendly check-in, the desk clerk said that things had been crazy the last day with a big football game in town, but you wouldn't have guessed it from the cleanliness and quietness of the hotel. Comfy, spacious room (1 king bed), good breakfast, location convenient to the freeway.

It was under an update and workers installing tile in entry. Room was big and clean. The bed was horrible. We couldn’t walk when we got up. Mattress way over time to replace. OLD. Desk employee was friendly and quick. Will jot stay here again.

Overall a good experience, parking lot well lit, friendly front desk, room temp was good. The biggest downfall was floor in the lobby was being replaced, so there was construction going on. I don't know if that can be posted within the app or not, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. This cramped the breakfast area and the selection wasn’t what it normally is at other Americinn hotels we've stayed at.

We like AmericInns for the breakfasts and they are overall decent hotels. We've stayed at this one before so knew it was ok. But the bad thing this trip was it is undergoing renovations in the lobby/breakfast area, so the breakfast was not up to snuff. The juice machine is in the area that is not currently accessible, so there was no juice. The food options were more limited than normal, though they did have scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. So not terrible, just not what it is normally. And because of the work being done the area is a bit of a mess. But it should be much nicer when it's done. It is an older hotel so it can use the facelift. The room was fine, comfortable bed, and I like the separate sink from the toilet/shower. Plus their fridge is bigger than most and has a freezer, something we appreciate as we are often traveling with a cooler with ice packs. Our main complaint is there was no communication about the renovations going on and the affect on the breakfast.

The staff were helpful and friendly. We rented two rooms. One was fine. The second room had an unpleasant smell, so we were moved to the room next door. That one was a little better, but still a bit musty. The bed was OK, not the greatest but not the worst. Breakfast was decent.

Ive stayed at roach coaches that have usb ports on the night stand. Showee head was dog water. The property is nice and they're making improvements. But tget seem to be cutting corners where they shouldn't on my opinion.

My 3rd time staying at this property when dropping off or picking up my daughter from school. Proprietors are so sweet and accommodating. Hotel is older however they are doing renovations. My room was clean and updated. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is an older hotel that needs some updating to the 21st century. It's a 2 story building with no elevators, so a 2nd floor room means hauling baggage up and down stairs. Our room was clean and comfortable with all the standard amenities. Breakfast was pretty meager. Everyone we met on staff was very friendly and helpful. OK for a bargain priced hotel.
