Location is great granted you hire a scooter or don't mind paying for taxi's. It's in the middle of the island so it's a short drive north to White Sand Beach or south to some other bars/restaurants/shops but close enough to some great local bites and bars. All guests are equal, meaning this resort isn't tiered, you pay more for the Villas which are bigger and give you direct access to a shared pool. Or you get an amazing hotel room with a personal plunge pool which is perfect thing to come home to after a day of exploring in the South East asian heat. Thai people are famously easy going and friendly, Santhiya staff live up to that reputation and then some. Lastly, its as good as the photos. Book in confidence.

This hotel is amazing! It's very beautiful and unique, the whole place is made out of timber and has this incredible smell to it. The breakfast is great, lots of variety and good coffee. The staff is very helpful and polite. I highly recommend Santhiya Tree and definitely would stay there again if I go back to Koh Chang.

A beautiful, older resort in the low season which could use some refurbishing and additional wait-staff. It's quiet, out of the way and was once gorgeous. Now it needs a coat of varnish. The hot water in the shower works very well, if you can figure out how to manipulate the faucet. The main restaurant needs more servers, so things like silverware aren't forgotten when the food is brought out.The bottom line: it's quiet, and like stepping into a few hundred years ago. I would consider going back, though it's not perfect

Nice hotel for couples with friendly staff. The main building is all in wood with unique style and has nice pools for each room. I think these rooms are best. Staff including Sonya were helpful in fixing small issues. Gym better than before but could have a bit more weights and bench. Both pools nice. Breakfast nice. On nice part of clean beach.

Building and architecture is amazing. Pool room is a must. Food was good, but dinner needs more thai dishes even like thai curry or chicken satay. Staff are very good and reception. Service staff in dinner hall thank you for all you did to support food needs and birthday

Stayed at this resort in 2017. It was then a relatively small and charming place. It has now expanded with a massive building in the back. The breakfast area has been moved from the airy nice terrace on the sea side to a noisy narrow location at the back. The front is expanded with sun beds. The beds in the rooms are uncomfortable hard We were a bit disappointed

The property is a beautiful traditional Thai architecture themed property that is quiet and secluded. It is a little inconvenient in terms of location to other shops and restaurants but the hotel provides shuttle service to the main road. The staff and service is amazing.

A great place to stay if you want to be alone. Next to the beach etc. I stay in a villa type room for two nights and asked to change to the pool room over looking the mountains. The hotel was able to help me with that. However the hotel located around 1km drive from main road where all the local shops is. I believe the hotel offer a mini van pick up and drop off. I used a scooter to get around, the island are very hilly you need to be a confidence rider if you want to rent a scooter.

Excellent hotel, beautiful view of river and mountains at breakfast. Amazing view of sea from restaurant and bar. Excellent rooms with good amenities. Only problem was the slow service of food. I think hotel was a little understaffed. Overall an excellent hotel and really enjoyed my stay there!

They claim to be a 4.5 star hotel. There are 4 or 5, no 4.5. The room was fantastic, the staff friendly and serviceminded. But there was a long wait for dinner, the staff ran back and forth between the tables to catch up, even though we were very few who had dinner. This made me as a guest feel stressed. The food was good but not worth 5 stars. Also tried the drinks which did not impress. The hotel is far from restaurants and shops. I had to rent a motorbike at the hotel. Overall a nice stay, will I come back? No.

Definitely one of the best resorts on koh Chang. I stayed in 2 rooms. First was the pool suite river view. Fantastic room with unbelievable views of the river and mountains. Good size. Private pool and bathtub facing the mountains. Nice size bathroom. Second was the pool access villa. Another fantastic room. Nice size semi private pool only 3 villa’s can use. Good size room with a great layout. Big bathroom with a custom built whirlpool bathtub. Great restaurants with delicious food. Brilliant big pool by the beach. Staff was excellent always friendly and very helpful. Fantastic service. Done everything they could to make a memorable stay. It was my birthday while I was their and they done a romantic dinner for me and my girlfriend by the beach. For me this resort is 10/10.

Although not 5-star international standard as we had expected and experienced at other Santhiya locations, the "pool suite" room was very beautiful and comfortable. (Rooms in this category are newer and were in much better condition than the upgraded "villa" category.) The manager and staff were very kind and courteous and tried very hard to improve the quality of our stay. Rainy season is not an ideal time to visit Koh Chang so we encountered a few kinds of "wildlife" in our room. Excellent mid-range resort on lovely, well kept grounds and a nice beach, but head to another Santhiya location if you're seeking a high-end experience of exclusivity and luxury.

My mom got the upgraded room for the first night but she requested to go back to the original room for the second night for a change. Both room types were awesome from her feedback (Hideaway Pool Villa & Pool Suite Water View)Good service, nice breakfast with live music (traditional thai music), very clean and well-manged space in the rooms, friendly and responsive staff.I'd definitely book again but it will be for myself next time :)
