Lovely staff but sink didn’t drain, no shampoo or soap and electrical plug by mirror didn’t work.

This hotel is shabby but not chic. The best thing about it is its location to The Libby Bowl. Needs to be upgraded. And very expensive.

A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful town. We easily walked (less than 10 mins) into town for dinner and a concert.

Our stay wasn't possible, as the only room they had didn't have a working exterior door lock. We had to leave.

Your staff are so unprofessional ( night ) booked our rooms to other guest as we were going to bed the came into our rooms. Needless to stay we felt very unsafe there, I’ve stayed there for the past 5 years this was my last.

The hotel’s location is fantastic, close to the center of the tiwn and very walkable. However, the stay was disappointing. The upholstery was dirty, and the front desk staff were inconsistent—helpful at times, but also confusing. I checked out with no issues, but later found an unknown charge on my credit card. Despite repeated attempts, I haven’t been able to reach the hotel, as they only offer voicemail and haven’t returned my calls.
The room had an unsettling vibe, with a jacuzzi next to the bed and mirrors everywhere. Definitely not a place I’d bring family or children. While the location is a plus, the lack of cleanliness, extra charges, and the creepy room setup make it hard to recommend.

We arrived before 3 (checkin time).. yet the reception desk was apologetic for not being to accommodate early checkin.
Check in went smoothly
The room was clean and orderly
We enjoyed a cooling and relaxing time in the pool (90 degrees at 9pm) after the Libby Bowl show

Probably was well kept, staff was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. I like the rustic mission vipers of the property.

I like the building and the breakfast was wonderful, but what I liked most were the people who hosted. Very helpful and warm.

location and premises are the main asset here. As for service, maintenance, amenities, minimalistic would be the word. breakfast is literally an insult.

Pretty hotel , quiet and clean however the room had a huge jacuzzi tub in it that didn’t work and the towels are sadly in need of replacing. Pool is tiny but cute, hot tub ok. The cocktail hour and breakfast are nice.

The hotel was beautiful and rustic the service was friendly overall but the rooms were not as clean as they should have been (shower had hair in the tub and the room was dusty).

It’s very charming place. View is wonderful. Loved private patio. Breakfast and happy hour in cute room is nice, too. Has game boards and can make friends with other guest. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Service was very good. Room is a bit dated. Clean. For Ojai, this is a good hotel for 1night. I would stay here again.

Had to dock a store for not having the key card the day I stayed, how does that happen. I had to get the owner to let me in every time. However, I enjoyed my stay overall and their is a lot to do in this area even though it is a smaller city

This old hotel is not kept up. It smelled, the first room the door lock didn’t work. She offered an upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi that didn’t work. Then offered a room with mirror hanging off the wall, dirty ripped shower curtain. Old smelly, unclean property. Big leak and stain outside the door. Really disgusting place. We couldn’t stay. They Refused to reimburse our $400 for one night. Never been to a worse hotel anywhere in the world.

Cute and cozy!

We booked a night stay at the Chantico Inn at a quoted rate of $145 per night. There were two of us, and we booked a room with two beds. We were charged a $25 fee for an "extra person," and, after checking out and settling our bill, were also charged an additional $28.12 for "additional taxes." The total amount charged for our $145 room was $249, over $100 more.
The room was adequate, the "free" breakfast was terrible.
This was "bait and switch" at its worst. Don't stay at the Chantico Inn, unless you're interested in getting ripped off.

The property needs a lot of upkeep. The carpet was rough and worn out and hurt my feet with socks on. The bathroom would not flush all the way, we had to add more water. The shower tub was rusty, microwave and fridge were dirty.

Staff was very friendly and the place itself was cozy.
Parking lot was difficult to maneuver around since the spots are all angled and there is only one way in and one way out.

Loved the location(can walk downtown easily), cute atmosphere and the pool area is great(hot tub jets didn’t work though). Happy hour and continental breakfast was nice. Our room the bathroom fan didn’t work, the sink leaked and wouldn’t drain. Bed was comfy but hard to sleep with outside hall lights on and no curtain (but had wooden slats). Good for a quick one night stay.

Enjoyed our stay in this quaint boutique hotel. The staff is friendly, the rooms are cozy, and the old spanish style is charming. The rooms are all decorated with unique antiques and have beautiful stained glass. Look forward to our next visit!

The room was not cleaned. We found old food in the refrigerator and hair on the toilet seat. We will not come back or recommend the hotel to friends.

I really want to love this place. It's charming, staff is really friendly but the building has toxic mold. I was first put into room 00 and I noticed a bubble of paint on the bathroom wall indicating past water damage, so I was suspicious. I also had to open the toilet tank as the toilet was malfunctioning and the whole inside was covered in mold. I noticed all this a few hours after check in, but since there is no front desk person all night, I was sleepless and coughing until the next day when I was able to get switched to another room. The employee was very helpful and immediately got me taken care of to another room upstairs, although even that room had visible mold beginning to grow in the tile grout in the shower and visible water damage from a really strange installation of the sink that was super loose. I have just come out of a toxic mold situation in my own home so I am much more sensitive than most people at this time as my system is overloaded with toxins as I detox, so most people probably would not have such a severe reaction, but please let my suffering not be in vain. Chantico Inn management needs to hire a professional mold inspector to assess the hotel and remediate, for the safety of employees and all guests. In addition to the mold, after I checked out they overcharged me for "additional taxes" without my prior consent so I am still waiting for a resolution on that. If I'd had the money I would have gone to another hotel but I could not swing it.

Room smelled of bleach upon entering but was filthy. Socks, candles, cigarette lighter, dirty napkin all found on floor. Hair could be seen in shower drain. Literally was afraid to touch anything! Room was in terrible condition: broken blinds and bed frame; uneven & dirty floor; height of furniture and appliances all awkward (extremely high bed and sink). Too much to fix! Very uncomfortable overnight work trip. Couldn't wait to leave. Please AVOID room 14 at all costs.

Lovely little place, unfortunately it was Dirty…hair and eyelashes in the sheets, we had a wet chair that I unfortunately sat on and stained my satin skirt…just felt uncomfortable but had no other choice at the time. Staff was very friendly . Wish the outcome was different
