This was an inspired booking through Hotels.com. We had an excellent room (Lapwing), which gave us a lot of space. The weather was fantastic (snow on the beaches, zero temperatures and clear skies - excellent for walking).

Hotel is well located in Alnmouth. The staff are excellent and the evening meal was good. The hotel is dog friendly which I must admit, I didn’t realise at the time of booking. The hallway, stairs and landing carpet was very soiled and badly needs replacing with hardwood flooring. The room we had (curlew) was very small and the bedroom window had obscure glass. Once again the floor was carpeted and needs replacing with hardwood flooring which would help keep the place more manageable with all the dogs being there.

Great location 5 mins from the beach, staff were friendly & accommodating, dinner & breakfast was great especially the fish & chips which was exceptional
Only negative was room had frosted glass so no view & only a small window so room was very stuffy and warm

Great location and great ambiance

Staff were really nice and welcoming. Food was great. Overall the place has a nice modern feel within an old traditional pub. The room we had was nice, however the window was frosted as it backed on to the kitchen yard and with one small opener made it extremely hot. I would however stay there again.

A lovely pub with great food. Comfortable rooms and very accommodating with bike storage

We had a comfortable stay at the hotel, inconsistency in service.
A little more attention to detail and customer service would elevate the experience.
Modern decor, clean but cooking smell is a bit off putting.

Lovely, cozy rooms above a great little restaurant with friendly staff and a great choice of local ales.
Peaceful location on the Northumberland coast, well worth exploring.

Great place for touring the local area. Nice clean rooms with large shower , good food, nice staff. Down side is the parking,a bit hit-and -miss but overall great place.

Friendly and relaxing. Only criticism is quality of bread at breakfast…too thin and poor quality…will go again

Good location, friendly & efficient staff, good sized room & comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner good.
Shower seals could do with renewal, could hear some noise from adjoining rooms

A lovely stay in Alnmouth for our mini moon, the room was so comfy and the staff super friendly. Such a dog friendly stay and the food options were great, particularly half price pizza and pasta before 5:30pm. Will definitely recommended the hope and anchor hotel to others.

Perfect position in a lovely village.
Free on-street parking right outside the hotel.
Excellent breakfast & restaurant for eating at night.

Fantastic stay in beautiful Alnmouth. Lovely room (Lapwing). Great service. Nice food in the restaurant. The breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breafasts I have had. Wish I had tried the fish and chips as it looked fantastic. Would definately stay at the Hope and Anchor again.

Really enjoyed our time here. The staff were very friendly and the room very comfortable. Food was excellent with large portions - very glad we chose the Hope and Anchor and would stay here again.

Great place for a short break. The food in the evening was excellent. Much better than you would expect from a pub.
However the breakfast was a bit basic and a bit slow when busy.
But don’t let that put you off. Great place to stay

This hotel is “ rustic “ a little and it is a pleasure to stay there. The room was big and plenty of drawers and cupboards. The bed was really comfortable. The service at the meals was amazing. Food great. Not a huge choice but easily enough to choose from. Would recommend this hotel. The only drawback is the difficulty of parking as the town is small and there are few places to park near.

Marcus and the team were amazing! Great service, atensuin to detail and really friendly made our stay fabulous. We booked dinner for the first night, the food was lovely, so much so we eat there again the following night. We’d definitely recommend the fish and chips, pizza and Zuppa Di Pesce - amazing fresh fish and tomato soup!

I stayed here as I was walking the Northumberland Coastal route. The hotel is in the heart of the village. Lovely bar and restaurant area and the food is good value for money. The room was spacious with plenty of storage if needed. Lovely large shower with quality toiletries. Breakfast choice is very good and the ingredients were good quality. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. I would highly recommend this.

Friendly staff, great location. Unbelievably good food but bed was hard and pillows were far too thin. Rooms are clean and modern.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was well presented large and clean. Everything you need for a couple of night's away. The walking straight from the Hope and Anchor was lovely. We didn't need the car for the whole weekend. However if you aren't from the area there's lot's of place's to visit within a short drive.

Room was fresh and clean, however it wasn’t as we expected from the photos- the bathroom was tiny with nowhere to put even your toothbrush, and the bedroom was equally small. For one night or for one person, it’s fine.

Food is delicious.
Dog friendly is a bonus

Very friendly and helpful hosts in a beautiful village by the sea. Good for walking and sightseeing. 20 min walk, or quicker bus ride from the station, but well located for visits to Northumberland coast and Newcastle.
