The service was more than we expected. They packed a breakfast for us when they knew we had to check out before breakfast. We would stay again.

Nice restaurant with rooms, well set up for those of us cycling through - and there were lots of cyclists staying. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.

Location - old town, waterfront & nature park proximity. Rooms are small but with adequate storage space, good shower, comfortable beds, coffee making facility

Garden courtyard atmosphere! Nice Deep bathtub. Foul smell through corridor to outside street. Nearby parking full so had to park some distance away.

The hotel is clean and we'll managed.
Breakfast was OK.
The staff was welcoming and very nice.
Two minuses though- lots of mosquitos (no nets on the windows) and the apartment we got was upscale two floors with narrow stairs, which was not mentioned when booking and was hard to climb with small kids and luggages.
Location is great for star trips to alkmaar, texel, Amsterdam, zansse and so.
Buttom line: I definitely recommend.

Wonderful, family operated hotel in Hoorn. Staff are competent and breakfast was excellent. Stayed alone but will return with my family. Next time, however, I will deny Expedia their massive fee and book directly with the hotel. Cheers, Robert.

During our stay Netherlands had a heat wave - most small hotels do not have A/C so it was extremely hot in our room. During normal weather it would have been wonderful. Staff was very friendly, breakfast which is included in the room rate was lovely. A fan would have made the stay great.

Great stay with Very Friendly and Helpful staff. We got in a bit early and we were given a room right away. which was very nice. Local bike shop was asking for a Lot of cash down to rent a bike. The hotel let us use a tandem bike at no cost along with a map of the local bike paths. Breakfast was great. I couldnt not have asked for a better stay In Hoorn.

Spent 3 nights during annual Fair. Breakfast was excellent, hotel amenities were thoughtfully offered e.g. umbrella, city walking tour guide etc., if needed. Owners were readily available to offer assistance and answer questions. Very unique property located in historic district within walking distance of all major attractions.

We were visiting an elderly friend who lives nearby and had stayed here last year. As we were happy with the hotel last year we decided to stay here again. Only drawback was our room was on the second floor and 4 short flights of steep stairs had to be negotiated but they were only too happy to take our case up to our room for us as we are nowhere near as young as we used to be!

The rooms are comfortable and larger than the equivalent rooms closer to Amsterdam and more reasonably priced.
We stayed 4 days and made little use of the place other than sleep and have breakfast. It does however have a small restaurant / café at the front where you can have light refreshments.

This is a small and charming family-run hotel in a gem of an old town, Hoorn - and for us much preferable to larger more generic accommodation. Our garden room was clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and well-appointed bathroom with nice toiletries. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful, for instance providing a disposable toothbrush and paste because I had forgotten mine! Breakfast was excellent and made all the more enjoyable as we chatted with the owner about the wonderful history of Hoorn and the Dutch East India Company. A great base to explore this delightful time- warped, peaceful destination, for us, on a par with Bruges and incredibly easy to get to from Schipol/Amsterdam.

The De Magneet exceeded my expectations and it was a well run family hotel where your made welcome from the time you arrive to when you leave. Great continental breakfast which we enjoyed and the location was a short walk to Hoorn town centre.

Car Park hidden away down the road and room accessed in the side street made for an interesting start; a comfortable room, pleasant staff and adequate breakfast made it an enjoyable experience. Tank goodness for the satnav in finding it !

Really like staff and the room with it's own little communal patio. Close walking distance to Hoorn's best sites. Wish the breakfast selection had less packaged items. I would stay here again. Price was reasonable.
