The rooms were adequate for our stay, but not great.
While the hotel tried to accommodate our request for a room that was far from the pub, we ended up with a room directly above the smoking courtyard, complete with lots of yelling and swearing.
The windows are SO THIN so at times it felt like the patrons were in our room, but with the door between the rooms closed, the kids were able to sleep in the front room with not too much trouble. It just meant us parents had no tv for the night as that was in the front room.
I'm not sure if they closed the courtyard, but thankfully the noise died down at about half past 9. Pretty good, considering it was a Saturday night.
The pub is family friendly, but I wouldn't recommend staying there if you have smaller kids.
Probs best left to the kid-free crowds!

Paid full price for a room with a spa bath and it had been removed and still pop aid full price

Had a good stay although lots of noise from above. Not the hotels fault but not enjoyable. Restaurant and bar is good. Location perfect.

Room was smaller than expected and first set of towels provided were not clean. Would strongly recommend that families stay in rooms away from the main hotel area as it was very noisy. The location of the hotel is great and staff are friendly but have had much better experiences when staying here previously.

Unit needs updating

We had a budget room. It was small, musty and old. Drainage in the 1970’s bathroom was horrible, showering with water up to your ankles. You could hear everything on the street as well as in the above apartment. It was nothing like the photos, the room was more like a storeroom than a motel room.
It was very disappointing.

There was no table or chairs in room to sit and coffee floor needs to be nailed down they squeaky and bounce there is no power point beside bed to charge phones only on bed side table even though its a budet room they need these things

Property was amazing being across the road on the beach. Needs to update the bathroom and the overall look of rooms. Looked old .

Reception staff were lovely.
The budget room was immaculate and comfortable.

The views were amazing.
The location was excellent.
If there was any negatives, it would be the noise on Saturday night - either from the hotel, or guests through the night.

Lovely stay in a Queen Bay view room with spa bath. Very relaxing. Fabulous location, walking distance to the shops, over the road from the beach.

Nice view of the bay from the room at level 2.
Not insulated from the noise off the streets at night, made by patrons of the restaurant/bar.
Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

The stairs at the rear are so slippery when they are wet. They are an extreme hazard to all people. They should have non slip bull nose on every tread

We stayed in a budget room and it was disgusting. It is too old to be cleaned properly, so I suggest updating the bathroom, so it can be cleaned and giving it new carpet in the bedroom, so that it is not so grose. The windows were dirty too.

Budget rooms are too small for the price. There is no table in the room nor a hanger for the clothes. Bathroom is leaking and the floor gets wet overnight. Pictures are misleading, budget room doesn’t have it’s pictures rather has other better looking room pictures. Booked it just because it is on the esplanade but a bit disappointing though we came to the room just for sleeping.

Budget room is very plain and simple - small bedside table, bed, bar fridge, coffee, tea, very small cups. Nothing to rave about

Great location, close to beach and restaurants.

A lovely outlook and convenient walking to attractions.
The cafe in the building wasn’t open until 10am which was a bit late for having breakfast and there was no microwave in the room which would have been handy.

Clean, cheap accommodation. We returned after the penguin parade and there was no parking off street. Also all night could hear people coming and going on the gravel car park.
Also only 1 teaspoon in the room so had to wash each time when altering between hot beverage types.
One door was quite crafty also.
We were happy with it for a single night stay.

North Pier was perfect for us to escape for a few days for a good dose of vitamin sea and sunshine. Very reasonably priced, clean and comfortable, well equipped and convenient.

we had a great weekend, the room was big enough but the bathroom was very outdated and unkept, with cracked boards under bath and what looked like black mold on bath tiles.

Great place!!

Location is great thats why they get away with dated shocking rooms, cant even comprehend how this is ok, i guess the standard and care factor is zero to some people!!! Strange as you're paying big bucks!! Rooms are from the 90, pub loud where you get the best views, need more sound proofing or something. The rooms are shocking, 2 bedroom apartment needs to be refurbished and lots of maintenance issues, ceiling falling apart on balcony, a big whole in the ceiling, waiting for a possum or a damn rat to come out!!! Beds were alright. Overall left early as it was crap. Not worth the money. Shame, you make money fix your damn hotel.
4.0
Great staff, clean rooms although bathroom had mouldy ceiling and lots of build up on exhaust fan and windows making poor ventilation.
Would stay again.
