Everything was top notch! Spacious rooms, close to metro station, restaurants and even close to airport! We enjoyed everything with this stay! Highly recommend!
8.0 / 10.0
Had an excellent stay at Sakura Hotel Hatagaya- the reception staff was very helpful when I needed to make a call to another hotel (to retrieve my luggage which had traveled without me) since I do not speak Japanese. They coordinated the matter, which I explained more thoroughly using my phone's translate function, and everything went well.
The breakfast was toast and some soup, which is totally adequate if traveling on a budget. Room was spacious compared to other hotels I stayed at in Tokyo. The area is quiet and safe, I felt very comfortable as a female solo traveler. It was also easy to access other parts of west Tokyo using the train.
Overall, I do recommend this hotel if on a budget. The staff are helpful, accommodations perfectly adequate, and location accessible via metro.

This hotel was in a great location, close to the trains and also in a very cute neighbourhood which some great restaurants.
The hotel staff was incredibly helpful, and even let me have a package delivered there while I was traveling to other parts of Japan. Very good service!

The staff were kind and helpful. The area close to the station made it very convenient to travel around to Tokyo and hit spots we wanted to see.

The traditional room worked well for our family of five. The Hatagaya area was a little far from some of the sightseeing we wanted to do, so we spent a lot of time figuring out train schedules. The staff were very helpful.

One of my favorite stays in Tokyo. Affordable and is really close to a train station. Close to Shinjuku and Shibuya. Yoyogi Park is a nice walk away too. Most staff speak/understand English. Their cafe is 24/7. Will probably stay again next time. Thank you Sakura Hotel!

I liked the quiet environment that I resided in aside from the cities in Tokyo like Shibuya with very friendly staff. I didn’t like the run-down interior of my room, particularly the dry paint being torn around my bed that could’ve been a safety hazard. But all in all it is a accommodating experience.

Hotel is not bad but the staff are not too friendly, so strict

Hotel was good just wish they had more breakfast option.

Close to the train station. Bunk room setup worked well for the 6 of us. Very simple breakfast provided. Helpful and polite staff. 2 stops west of Shinjuku.

Excellent hotel. It is small, but so is every hotel in Japan, but at least this has a excellent AC and a nice bathroom. The only issue I had was there's a young guy who works in the night shift, he's quite rude. I asked him for weight scale for luggages and he made a face, acted rude, and handed it to me like I don't deserve it. I even asked him where to find luggages, and he said "Shinjuku i dont know" in a very mean and nonchalant voice. The other employees however, were nice.

It was a funny moment when the front staff kept talking to me in English even after I showed him my Japanese passport.
It took a couple of minutes for us to find out that we were both Japanese. Good place.

I would be very nice if staff will at least smile

Wow I really loved this hotel and I loved Hatagaya. It's a pretty quiet area away from the throng but the hotel is 3 minutes walk from the station which is two stops from Shinjuku. It's kinda perfectly located.
Complementary breakfast is rudimentary but a great way to meet other guests. Oh, and there's a 24 hour bar downstairs that somehow doesn't get rowdy. All staff were excellent and helpful. Ig I had to pick a negative.. the list is pretty small?
"Nicos Coffee" around the corner makes perfect espresso and "Nihao" up the street was divine gyoza etc. There's a great path for running, pretty little park, cute streets etc.
I'm definitely staying here again soon. I loved it.

very nice place, very cute and tucked away, very good spot if you want to take the keio line to western tokyo and mount takao. staff were lovely and breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean and tidy, bit small though. overall amazing stay :)

Very much a business hotel so it’s giving, shoe box in terms of space but no surprise there. Not far from Hatagaya station which can get you to either Shinjuku or Shibuya very easily. Over all a nice place but not for “ long term “ stay if you’re not solo traveling.

Nice size corner room with two windows. Compared with other business hotels it was rather spacious. Really nice breakfast with soup that changed daily and nice to get some toast as well. The 24 hour cafe on the ground floor with wi-fi helped make it a nice place to relax.

Clean hotel with basic amenities.Staff is friendly and helpful. Located in an interesting residential area with several walkable dining options. Convenience store close by.Close to Hatagaya train station which is a short two stops ride from Shinjuku station via the KO New Line. Breakfast is minimalist with toast, coffee and daily soup available during our stay.Room was larger than another Tokyo hotel we stayed at but would be considered small by North America standards. We enjoyed our stay.No regrets booking here.

I absolutely loved my stay at Sakura Hotel Hatagaya! Friendly staff, very close to the train, a lot to see in the area, very close to shinjuku and shibuya. I plan on staying here for my next trip to Japan.

Small but lovely hotel. Impeccably clean and very friendly and helpful staff. Simple but tasty breakfast; the soup changes everyday, and I looked forward to it. The residential neighborhood of Hatagaya in which Sakura is located is also very charming and convenient, with bakeries, small eateries, and convenience stores. And, it is just two short stops from Shibuya station.

This is an amazing place. The rooms are tiny, but the people are ready to serve with a smile and right away. This is not the Ritz and I’m so glad it isn’t! Much more charming and endearing. Beds are hard, but I slept surprisingly well. I’ve been here twice and would stay here again! So unique. I was made to feel so welcome!

Good choice for single travelers on a budget. Rooms are very compact with no views. Near Keio line station, 2 stops to Shinjuku. Bus 66 or 63 to Shibuya.

My stay at Sakura was great! Pamdey was a very friendly and helpful front desk staff who spoke English. The area was safe and only one-block walk away from the nearest subway station. There is 24/7 convenient store and restaurant nearby that open until 10:30pm. There was complimentary breakfast from 5-11am providing croissant, bread, soup, and orange juice. I had a one double room, which was a little small at 118 sq ft, but the room was cozy,

It was just enough for a solo traveler, if on a budget I do recommend this spot.

This rating is for the 2 star hotel classification (non-western hotels).
Room size: 3/5. Mattress: 2/5 not comfortable. The entry way is very narrow and the door is short. Can feel claustrophobic at times.
Bathroom size: 3/5 (comparable to several 2 and 3 star hotels). No bidet (1/5). Very nice faucet and shower head.
Staff friendliness and customer service: 5/5
Amenities: 5/5. Mini fridge, coin laundry, ability to call taxis, the free breakfast for guests, and safe luggage storage. Microwave available in the cafe as well. Elevator! So many 3 star hotels don’t have elevators which is difficult when traveling with heavier luggage. Many free of charge rent items for use, just ask.
Can you find another affordable hotel option that can give you a decent 1bed 1bath space for their rate? It’s tough to beat on such short notice in my opinion.

Great modest hotel with friendly and very helpful staff located in a family friendly suburb. Great dining options close by and transport. Good budget accomodation with free breakfast.

The best place to stay for convenience & affordability. One stop away from Shinjuku station and a few minutes walking distance to your satellite station from the hotel. So many stores & restaurants around the area that you can also just walk to. We stayed in the Japanese family room, which consisted of 4 Japanese futons. It was a bit uncomfortable for me so I had to stack one futon on top of the other but I expected it being that they were not actual beds. The room was small, but perfect for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) considering you’re on vacation to be out of the room for most of the day. I always try to look for a room that has at the bare minimum a mini fridge, microwave & kitchenette - this room had it all. They give free light breakfast, they have a 24 hour cafe in the hotel, they have a laundry room, smoking booth outside, tables & chairs outside, and much more. This will definitely be our go to hotel every time we vacation in Japan!

The room was quite small for two peolpe, BUT everything was perfect like all staff were kind, it was really clean and convenient for cafe and restaurants. Best local hotel in Tokyo!

Honestly, I didn’t expected much in the beginning but I was wrong. Very wrong.
I love this convenient family style hotels.
Only 2min away from Hatagaya station yet very quiet at night.
Most of the staff members are able to speak English.
They made my stay delightful.
This is smoking free building and I am happy about it.
Room is minimal, compact sizes but I stay here 10days and it was comfortable for me.
Unfortunately space is limited to open the big luggage but I use my own cover for on top of the bed to open my luggage and able to manage the issue.
Also there is no closet available.
Only few hangers on the wall with mirror.
But again I had own folding organizer so it was ok.
Desk, desk light and Mini refrigerator is available. Other small gadgets are also available at the front desk upon request.
Washer and dryer is available 24h inside of the building.
Hatagaya is very convenient to access major area. Within the walking distance you will discover many eateries and shops.
Shibuya: catch bus is the easy way to go.
Harajyuku/ Omote Sando: walk to the Chiyoda line,(about 15min) Yoyogiuehara station
Shinjyuku: Keio new line
If I ever again visit Tokyo, I will definitely stay here.

Great stay
8.0 / 10.0
Clean, friendly staffs, smaller room but comfortable enough.
Plenty of food options nearby such as restaurants, super market and convenient stores.
Hatayaga train station is a few minutes walk from the hotel. From there is 5 minutes non transfer ride to Shinjuku station .
About less than an hour walking to either Shibuja or Shinjuku if you want to scroll around to see smaller neighborhoods and streets.
