The size of the rooms was decent, loved the in room coffee pot and you can't be at the location BUT the pub below was BLASTING music well past 2am and even with 2 sound machines and closed windows no sleep was to be had. Staff were polite but not friendly and with no breakfast service available we'll make a different choice on our next visit to Galway.

Location but no breakfast

This hotel was one of the biggest disappointments in our 4 week trip in the British Isles. It is located on a very busy and loud walking street, making it difficult to access and loud outside until around 3 am. The elevator smelled, the coffee maker leaked and didn’t work and the shower water pressure was non existent. The room was over $300 Euros per night - too expensive for its shortfalls.

Older hotel in a great location. There is no onsite parking. Very noisy, even on weekdays. We heard loud music and yelling well after midnight. Trash cleanup and trucks starting at 6 am. No AC. Clean room and friendly staff. Surprised by the overall rating. People must really like the location. Hotel is just okay. Solid 6 or 7. Not a 9/“wonderful”

Ok first let me say…it was a nice hotel. It was clean, comfy room, and staff were friendly. Now for the not so good…while others have commented on it being noisy…I assumed typical noise for the pub district. I did not expect for it to sound like I had a damn nightclub in my room. They have commented on others reviews saying their hotel specific website states it can be noisy…their Expedia info does not. And really how many of us go to the individual website to check it out? I expected some noise as a result of street traffic but not the echo of the bars live music (think bass thumping) til the wee hours of the morning. So if you appreciate a good night sleep, are traveling with children or are not in the party scene…DO NOT book here! If the late night live music club hopping is your jam…book away you will love it! As for me 3 hours of sleep for €296…not worth it. Oh AND when we asked how long the music would be going for…we were given earplugs.

Would only recommend for young partiers as just a decent place to crash after a night out, but not for a family/kids or anyone wanting a nice retreat. The pictures are deceiving. 1 star for the misleading photos/description. We had trouble finding the place and after asking several people, we were directed to a small door placed between two restaurant patios. No wonder they didn’t post pictures of their entrance. The first gal to greet us was friendly and she’d get 5 stars, but the other 2 people we dealt with for questions and check out were pretty miserable. The place is old and kind creepy but it was clean. Our room was tiny, didn’t have television to watch (could only cast apps from your phone but we didn’t have those), got 3 tiny twin beds pushed together, no toiletries in bathroom, coffee maker with no cups…it honestly felt a bit like an upscale hostel. Now this wouldn’t be so bad if it was a cheap stay- but it was nearly $300 for a weeknight! I expected more with that price. The location is great if you want a fun street side atmosphere or plan on going out because you are literally in the middle of a bustling walkable street. The bar/restaurant attached was fun and a cool atmosphere. If youre there for the nightlife, have at it. Otherwise book elsewhere.

Great stay with reception staff going the extra mile to ensure our stay was organised. Recommend the pub downstairs for food and music but get in early or you will miss out.
The room can get a bit hot but use the fans supplied, they do a great job!
Overall the Residence had everything we were wanting from our stay which was fun and ease.

Tub extremely deep and dangerous to get in and out after a shower

Great location! Nice room! Friendly staff!

A great location, right in the thick of it. The only downside to that is that it’s a little noisy at night (something we were aware of before booking anyway).

Great place to stay while in Galway. Stop thinking about it and just book it.

Wonderful experience! Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location. 10/10 would recommend this property and stay here again!

Parking was not as expected. We were told where parking was off property when they had parking in the hotel lot. This was inconvenient to say the least.

No complaints :)

Lovely rooms. Excellent, accommodating staff. Right in the heart of Latin Quarter. Don’t forget to close the double windows to block out the noise!! Parking was tricking since we were unfamiliar with the area. If you’re using GPS locate Spanish Arch Parking and you’ll be set. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning to stay in Galway!!!

Shower didn't work very well and no AC. The room was a little small but very clean.

Great location and amazing staff!

The room was comfortable and clean. It was in the heart of Quay Street where all the hopping bars are located. It can be a little loud outside the hotel so probably not for someone who wants a quiet stay. But the location is otherwise in a prime area. The staff were really wonderful. They were super friendly and accommodating. There isn’t much of a lobby area, but the bar 1520 next door provides a nice place to hang out.

This was a lovely hotel in the heart of Galway! It made walking around the city and dining so easy. The Spanish Arch car park is not for the faint of heart. If you have a big car or aren't comfortable driving, use another car park. The front desk staff had great recommendations for places to see and eat. Yes, you can hear the music from the bar downstairs. We didn't find it a problem, though.

Beautiful hotel in walking distance to the National Gallery and many pubs and restaurants.
Taxi and buses easy to find.

Unique place right above a popular pub, other reviews had me worried about noise however it wasn't that bad and was fun to listen too from the room.

This place was great! There's a restaurant/bar with live music downstairs, and it's right by a plethora of shops, pubs, and restaurants. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful.

We stayed on a Friday and their bar was right under our room. They played live music until 2:00 am and it was so loud that it was impossible to sleep. They should state this on their website or warn customers.

This eclectic hotel was in a great area and very walkable to most of what you’d want to see. Check in was super easy and the desk attendant was friendly. There’s no air in the room, which was mostly fine because the windows opened and the temps were great. However, the room had a musty damp smell as a result, which was less than desirable.

Staff were so friendly on arrival. The room is so cosy

Loved the front desk staff! Rooms were very nice and clean. Very comfortable bed. Great restaurant/bar connected to the hotel. We were on the first floor and could hear music from the bar, but we turned up the tv a bit and could no longer hear it. Had no issues sleeping as the noise is not that loud.

Best location in Galway this small boutique Hotel has it all

Went for new year and it was very well located in the city centre. Very comfortable beds, great nights sleep. Only thing to mention is the music at night is quite loud but it didn’t disturb us.

Excellent location and cute rooms. Beds were super uncomfortable and old - could tell by how the springs felt from the mattress. Overall a good hotel with excellent location.
4.0
The location of this hotel is nice for being in the middle of a street with good food and bars and shops. But there is no parking unless you park in a parkade at the end of the street and the door isn’t very obvious, so keep that in mind

What an amazing place with fun decor. Thanks to Erin for our very warm welcome and suggestions for food and entertainment. An really enjoyable hotel close to all the action in Galway

Erin at the desk was a gem Galway is fantastic. Hotel fabulous

We felt very welcome from the time we stepped in the door. Erin was super friendly, knowledgable and informative. All staff we encountered were friendly especially Jasmin and Ewan who works in the attached bar 1520. Our king sized room was spacious and clean. We overlooked the street with a small balcony. Would definitely stay again. Within in the Spanish quarter and walking distance to Eyre Square and the Salthills. Live music nightly at 1520 so expect a bit of noise, didn't stop us from sleeping at all.
