Great little hotel. Excellent breakfast! Really cool common space and gardens. Luggage storage was perfect for Inca trail. Drop off and pick-up can be challenging on skinny Old Inca streets. 5 minute walk to Central Plaza.

Great Service so friendly and helpful! Made our stay so memorable.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Samanapaq. It was located in a quiet area but only a two minute walk to the main square. Our room had everything we needed and the breakfast was fine. There was a large common area outside of our room where we could relax with more space.
The best part was the kind owner who gave us great restaurant and hiking suggestions and was very helpful in general. We were very satisfied with our experience!

Wow. Hotel Samanapaq is an oasis in Ollantaytambo that I will recommend to anyone!!! Tula and the staff are incredible welcoming, helpful, attentive and warm. They are proud to welcome you to Peru/Ollantaytambo, and it shows. The hotel’s location is ideal - a short <5 minute walk to the center. The breakfast is beautiful and delicious, the hotel decor is stunning and tasteful, rooms are very comfortable (beds too!), and the property is spacious, lush, and beautiful. Our young children loved exploring the premises while we enjoyed our morning coffee. The Tula and staff are willing to help with anything and are well connected throughout the community - from laundry, to taxis, to activities.
HIGHLY recommend … we are so sad to have to leave!

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Wonderful owner who was always present and provided advice. Owner was incredibly helpful when we needed to manage a medical emergency.

This place is like walking into the garden of eden, with gorgeous gardens looking out to stunning views of the Andes. It is only a couple blocks from the main square, which makes it ideal for shopping and sightseeing, super-comfortable rooms with beautiful showers/bathrooms, and an included breakfast that cant be beat. The owner can point you towards anything you might need/want, and if you're looking for a reprieve from the noise and hustle of the 'normal' Peru, this is the oasis you are looking for.

The owner is very nice and helpful , warm hearted lady. She recommended very Peruvian local restaurants and prepared yummy breakfast just for us because she knows we will catch train at 6am. Hotel is very unique and beautiful.

We appreciated the recommendations given to us for dinner. Also, we were hiking the Inca trail the next morning and this was a convenient place to stay and be picked up. Would recommend to anyone!

The hotel was our favorite stay in the whole trip. The location was great, a short walk from the plaza de armas and the main ruins of Ollantaytambo. The staff was excellent. Extremely welcoming and friendly. We felt like home. I will certainly recommend this place to friends and family.

Great communication pre-visit through Hotels.com app. Signage isn't great. Wasn't clear where to enter when we got there and the taxi picking us up couldn't find us.HOWEVER, we had an amazing night. It is like a hidden oasis gem behind nondescript walls. Tula was very helpful at front desk and in getting us oriented to the whole MP train travel that we had already purchased. The rooms were clean. We were the only ones in the hotel that night. She set a fire for us in the central area where we could eat dinner. Both rooms had small heaters that were adequate. Initially, we had no hot water, as it had been 'turned off' during covid. Within minutes, Tula had turned the valve on and we were fine. She tried to move us along in the morning so we could enjoy breakfast while getting to the train on time. ( We walked to the plaza nd took a S/10 taxi to the station to save time) My family's only regret was that we didn't have time to just relax in this beautiful inn for a few days longer

Hotel Samanapaq made our stay in Ollantaytambo wonderful. We actually ended up staying two nights instead of one because it was the ideal place to rest up for an additional day and do some local hikes. The family run establishment was professional and super friendly from the moment we checked in until the moment we left. The facilities were clean, well equipped and we had some of the most wonderful hot showers I have experienced in Peru. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visting the ruins of Ollantaytambo or the surrounding areas.

The hotel is located a short walking distance to the main square. It is located behind a nondescript wall and door. However, upon entering, the hotel and grounds are beautiful. The property sits at the base of old Inca ruins located above the hotel which can be visited via a short hike. The grounds have beautiful flowers, trees, and bushes and the owner is a wonderful woman who loves gardening and keeping the grounds in perfect condition. The rooms are average size and are very clean and tidy. The free breakfast is fantastic and the setting is a separate garden room that allows a nice view of the grounds. Ollantaytambo is a hidden gem of a city with a lot of Inca ruins surrounding the place. In my opinion, I would visit this area again and skip Macchu Picchu. There are no crowds here and most of the Incan ruins are free to visit. Only one has an entry fee. The best way to arrive is by car from Cuzco. It is a 1 hour car ride ($25-$30 USD) compared to a 2.5 hour train ride (and costs more money).

Great experience. Great staff. Breakfast is decent. The hotel is well kept for the standards of what you will find for the area. Loved the super hot water. Heaters in rooms kept us warm. We got 2 rooms for my family. For those considering this town, the town is a much better option from staying at Aguas You get a true INCA feel. In Aguas, you get hecklers.

We were a little worried when we got to the entrance, but once in the courtyard we were amazed by how beautiful the grounds were. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was nice but thebed was a little firm and the pillows were not very comfortable. It is fairly close to the center of Ollantaytambo and we were able to walk to all areas of the city we wanted to see. The only issue was that we were able to hear every noise from outside the hotel, including a party down the street as well as barking dogs both nights. This isn't an issue with the hotel (we found that every hotel we stayed at in Peru had the same problem) but travelers should be aware that they can expect to hear noise. Overall a great stay.

Considering you’re in Ollaytatambo, this hotel is very nice. It has comfortable and clean rooms, hot water, nice grounds, and above all, very friendly and helpful staff. Not as centrally locates as others but still a short easy walk (less than 10 min) to the main square.

Spent one night there with my family on our way to Aguas Calientes. Very nice spot with a big and beautiful garden where my daughter could spend all the energy accumulated during the long hours travelling by plane and car – she said this was the best hotel she's ever been :) Super friendly staff who went out of the way to accommodate our requests. Only down side is that the internet is only available on the common areas.

Really helpful and kind hearted employees, they helped me to communicate with local travel office when I felt anxious and finally resolved the problems for me. The place is not bad for the low price, but you cannot expect too much, most people get up early for hiking. Really beautiful yard with flowers. Unsatisfying aspect is that the breakfast is from 6, but I took a 5:50 train, most hotels in Cuzco will provide breakfast from 5 even 4:30.

Beautiful property, very nice grounds, good location very close to plaza. Personal attention by family.

Gorgeous hotel and the most welcoming staff. Off from the main square a bit you have to ring the doorbell to enter the property so the staff know everyone on site which makes you feel very safe. The grounds were gorgeous with flowers and benches and hammocks for the guest to relax.
