This is a lovely, local feeling property with a lot of character. The staff was extremely helpful, helping me contact a guide when I left my mobile phone in his car. I would highly recommend a stay for a single traveler. Thank you for the wonder stay.

Out visit to this hotel was outstanding! We stayed for 4 days initially and then left for 4 days to explore the Amazon. We didn’t leave for the jungle until very late and the hotel was kind enough to allow us to keep the room until we left! They stored our luggage while we were gone and gave us a fabulous welcome when we returned! The rooms are large and simply beautiful! The breakfast is wonderful as well. I could not have been any happier with my stay in Quito thanks to the Hotel Antinea. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Quito❤️❤️❤️

the hotel is unique and has character, though starting to show age. The room itself was clean but terrace was not (bird****, leaves, mold/algae) and the terrace is an upgrade to the room. TV didn't work but wasn't that big of a deal for me. Breakfast was good, staff was great. Pretty good value for the $

What a wonderful gem we found in the heart of the city. Our room was decorated in the most amazing way! In fact the house was full of wonderful art and unique architectural details. Breakfasts were quite generous and we especially loved the homemade yogurt. The street was fairly quiet and had mature trees which only added to the ambiance.

Hotel Antinea is a charming place to stay, close to a popular market, lots of restaurants as well as public transportation. We looked forward to an excellent, freshly cooked breakfast each morning and Veronica was always there to provide helpful information.

Our host Veronica was wonderful and helpful. I have a mobility issue and when Veronica saw that she arranged for a room with easy access. I should have advised her before arrival. I ended up staying a few extra days. Breakfasts were perfect for starting off the day.. Be sure to try the homemade yogurt.
The hotel is well maintained, clean, and has pleasant outdoor seating areas. It was lovely to sit under the trees surrounded by flowers. Pure relax. It is conveniently located to nice restaurants .
If you have any concerns or questions prior to arrival, contact Veronica. .She responded to mine very quickly.
.She arranged safe transport from the airport to the property. Our driver, Edison, was also great.
Overall, a pleasant stay. If I return to Quito at any point, I will stay here.

This place was wonderful! The main woman Veronica, spoke English well and took care of everything we needed. Our room was beautiful it was actually a suite with a kitchen. The outdoor parts of the hotel were incredible. The building is very old and has cool features because it’s old. If you want a brand new place this is not the place for you. If you want a very special experience, this is an excellent spot for it.

Charming architecture and quieter than I had expected. Great breakfast: fresh fruit, good coffee, and warm croissants! Verónica at the front desk was super helpful.

It is a super cute boutique hotel, with an Euro flare. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Nice place with a family feel, European atmosphere, piano in the common room, water dispenser, open areas, simply loved it. Clean, plenty of hot water, good service in the lobby (they have to open the main door for you). Close to artisan market.

Great experience! It’s clean, centrally located to Plaza Foch. High security, they open the door for you each time. The 1-bedroom suite is just perfect, especially when you get breakfast delivered and eat in your private balcony. Plus the hammock! Just wow.

Amazing, this hotel is in a perfect location, Telmo and Veronica are excellent. Private tours can be arranged if you are interested. The hotel resembles an Old English Cottage, decorated with exquisite taste and in a very good condition. All rooms are different and all with excellent commodities. My favorite are rooms 10 and 11 if you are looking for extra comfort. Parking is onsite free and based on availability. I will stay here again.

Wonderful hotel. Marco at (the front desk) saved us from being stranded in Quito during the corona virus outbreak by waking us at 12:30am to tell us the roads were going to be shut down to the airport at 5:00 am. He got us a cab to the airport at 2:30 am and we made our flight out of Ecuador just before the shut down. Thank you so much!!. We hope to come back again someday when times are better! The Antinea is a beautiful hotel and the breakfast and service were wonderful for the two days we were there.

The hotel was in a good area of the city but the room was a bit smaller and less comfortable than the photos led us to believe. Beds were a bit small and there wasn't really comfortable seating to just hang out. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful, despite our total lack of Spanish, and they made up for these other setbacks.

My seven night stay at this hotel was a delight. It has a lovely decor, reminiscent of a french country inn with each room individually decorated. The location is good, near a large selection of reasonably priced restaurants and nightclubs. It is also an easy five minute, inexpensive (three to four dollars) taxi ride to Quitos historic center. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating, especially Veronica. She speaks fluent English and she provides assistance with day tours, airport shuttle arrangements, dining recommendations, activities, etc. The breakfasts were nice: fresh fruits, eggs cooked in any style, freshly squeezed juices and croissants. I definitely recommend this hotel for a memorable experience with that special added touch.

The hotel has wonderful character and charm like a bed and breakfast. Fits the historic feel of Quito. Lots of bars and restaurants near by, mostly for a younger backpackers and young professional quiteños. My room fit the character of the hotel - older but charming. Nice to have a small hot plate (very old but functional), coffee maker, and mini fridge. The tv would not turn on - minor inconvenience. But the shower head was old and not very effective - no pressure. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was a very nice combination of fresh fruit, eggs as you like, breads with house made jamas, coffee or tea, fresh juice.

The property itself is very unique, they keep it very clean despite being a big area. The breakfast was EXCELLENT but the most important part of evey business is the people, and they were very verh nice and helpful at the hotel. Thank you!!

This hotel is beautiful. It is full of unique character and so charming! The staff are all so friendly and Veronica, (who I think is the manager) is so helpful with any needs and speaks fluent English. It’s on a tree lined street within a locked gate and very safe. Only 2 min walk from Mariscal Foch where are the restaurants bars and cafes are located.

We enjoyed our stay in Antinea while in Quito in part because it is well located near the Foch plaza (but still far enough you dont get the noise at night) where you can enjoy good restaurants and lively bars. We ate couple times at Mama Clorinda (good) and Achiote (excellent) and it was only a 5 minutes walk. By the way, the breakfast at Antinea is just amazing with fresh fruits, home-pressed juices, fresh breads and home-made omelets that we devoured before going on our hikes throughout the city. We stayed in the suite #3 which had a large common area (kitchen, table, sofas) and a small room for the kids. The cons are that there is only one bedroom located on a 2nd floor near the master bedroom so for 4 people that can be crowded. Another thing that we felt could be improved is the quality of the mattresses. Both the bunk beds and king bed have aging mattresses that could be improved (only reason why we did not give it a 5-star review). Last but not least, the staff is top-notch and always here to help with taxis and things to do (for one they saved our Jan-1 day when everything seemed closed but yet found interesting places to visit nearby Quito).

Quaint hotel on a quiet street despite being close to activity- restaurants and tour companies. Everything served at breakfast was fresh. Staff was very polite. Rooms were larger than what we expected, very spacious with a balcony.

Centrally located, walking distance to a lot of dining establishments. On tree lined street. Building is old and cabinet and plumbing facilities are too rustic. Lobby and breakfast area are very charming. Staff is helpful and pleasant although speaks little English. Lead staffer, Veronica is great and communicative.

I'm almost afraid to rate this place, because if it gets too popular, will I still be able to get a room again? . . . Actually, I shouldn't even use the term "room." The "rooms" are quite spacious, especially if you pay a few dollars more and graduate to a 35 sq. meter palace, like I did. Good sized bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, patio balcony. It's not a room. It's a small apartment.
One review I read before I went there said the place was "squirky" and antiquated. I don't understand how that's a negative. If your architectural tastes are such that you insist on 21st century contemporary design, then don't stay here. But if you value having your "space," with good, attentive service at a reasonable price, this is the best I've seen in Quito since I first visited in 2000 (before moving here).
Now if I need to be near the airport, sure -- I'll get a room in Tababela, instead. But if I have business near El Centro, this is the place to stay, hands down. It's close enough to Foch Plaza to walk and eat whatever you want, and it's far enough from "las farras" to enjoy the peace and quiet.
It was a wonderful two-day experience.
It's where I'll be staying from now on when in Quito on business.

I sincerely enjoyed my stay and will be staying again. The staff was friendly and attentive. I arrived late, wanting a beer for nightcap, The host direct me to the nearest pub. The next night there was beer in my room refrigerator :-) I found everybody to be a gracious and helpful. The hotel itself is charming, clean with Old world charms

After arriving at 0130 am , the taxi sent picked me up as requested .This is a very busy airport at nite the planes (3) all come in at about the same time . It's about 40 mins to the hotel . On a quite street very nice , the houseman Victor was
waiting for me . I checked in and went to bed. as mention in another review do not get room 5 or 6 as they are above the cafe and kitchen. The morning breakfast as very nice ,fresh juice , toast ,eggs and jam with coffee and milk.
I was greeted by Veronica , shes the day shift manager (English speaking) she helped with my transfer to the cloud forest lodge . I walked around the hotel ,it's very pretty . The rooms on the front lower floor # 9 & 10 are exceptional ,
very large, quite and private for only (10.00 US$ ) more.
