This is my second time in Haka House Lakefront Queenstown. It’s always a good experience. I stayed in a 4 bed ensuite toilet. The place is very clean and new. Bed is comfortable. They do have a huge kitchen where you can also food with complete kitchen stuff. There is a locker too but you have to provide your own lock. People are so nice and the environment is really friendly. I highly recommend.

AK was the best host and made the stay in Queenstown a joy with his warmth and great suggestions. Property is a pleasant and scenic walk from town yet tranquil - a great balance between the scenery and the scene in this royal town.

Decent hostel. Felt a bit dirty compared to other Haka hostels. Also didn’t have the friendly vibe which I had experienced elsewhere.

Overall good place but issues were as follows: - lockers in room were unusable as the beds backed onto the lockers so you couldn’t actually open the locker doors. This led to major storage issues in the 8 bed dorm and a rather cluttered room. - quite a walk into town compared with other places (I hurt my ankle on a trek though so may have felt longer than it actually was)

Fantastic location, easy walk to town centre and beautiful views across the lake. Modern clean rooms and helpful staff. Kitchen set up was awesome - so much great equipment and storage facilities.

Room and bed was nice. Lockers in my room didn't open enough to get my backbag inside. Showers were quite dirty in the evenings so take your shower during the day.

Comfortable bed and great having the curtain on the bed. Tiny room for 3 beds - tough to have 2 people sorting out kit let alone 3! Shower fans need a clean but overall great place to stay. Lovely outlook!

I’ve never stayed in a hostel before. Since Queenstown is expensive and I booked late, it really was my only option. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. It had nice beds in the rooms, the kitchen was huge and the deck was a great spot to chill. Close to the city for walking, and far away enough to not be in the middle of it all. The water was just outside the door. Also, Lucy was great. I think she was in charge, and she was really nice and kind. Gave me some good recommendations! I probably won’t stay in a hostel again unless I get a private room.

Very compact, en-suite room. Kept clean and tidy. Big kitchen with all cutlery and utensils. Also has a great coffee machine

I was very happy with my stay here - lovely hostel at a lovely location on the lake. Would recommend!

Fair distance from the town centre (about 10 minutes) but right next to the lake (big lake however). Not enough free parking spots on the property (only about 6-7). There's free parking along the street but difficult to find a space during peak times (afternoon/evening) until relatively late at night. Dorm and facilities were clean and good customer service at the front desk.

One of the best hostel/backpackers Ive stayed in. Very clean, tidy and comfortable. The shared dorm was also very well designed & thought-of. Very well looked after YHA. Great location with great views! Free Wifi included. Really couldnt have asked for a better stay.

As a Hostel, this place is having a very huge kitchen area. There's only one staff we felt very uncomfortable with, other staff we met were very helpful and kind. The room seems very clean. However when we were staying, there weren't any late night staff yet, when other guest weren't following with the quiet time rules, we have to deal with them ourselves. (I did complain with the front desk, but those guest wasn't good with only one reminder,,,) Anyway hostel said they will hire late night staff in the future, I hope that will make a changes.

Cannot fault this hostel. The best I've experienced. Nice touches like power points and small shelf and lights for each bed. Facilities spotlessly clean. Only a short walk to town centre but nice lakefront location. Easy parking.

Hotel does not have enough parking spaces and parking along the street is limited as well. The hotel is very basic. Make sure you have your own toiletries- no shampoo is provided in the shower. The location is great.

Very good to excellent. Really like the sturdiness of the bunk beds and the array of power points for each bed. Really liking the view from the lounge right now. The WiFi is the only letdown. As an IT guy it is a real hassle for me. I dont enjoy spending all day inside waiting for a 300 MB download when the weather is so good outside.

Room was clean and staff was super friendly. Only issue was the room was pretty hot and stuffy and the doors slammed closed pretty loudly which kept waking us up. Overall a good stay and not too far of a walk into town.
