When I checked in I had excellent service. The room furnace blew freezing cold air or too hot air no matter what I set it on.

The room was not ready for us. Someine's pants were hanging in the bathroom, and there was dirty diaper in the bathroom trash. Not so pleasant!

There are 3 Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Rochester. This property is the one closest to the Mayo Clinic St Mary's Campus. If you are in town to visit Mayo Clinic, this is a wonderful location. We have previously stayed at a different HIE on the far South Side of town. This location is heads and shoulders better in every way than the south location. Better condition of the property, better service, better location. It is only 2 blocks from Mayo Clinic's St Mary's entrance. There are also grocery, pharmacy and restaurants within easy walking distance (meaning within a couple hundred yards). There is also a shuttle that takes you to either Mayo campus directly from the hotel lobby. The only negatives: 1. This location does not have the little food store most Holiday Inn Express' have. 2. The rooms have very few electric outlets

The fact that this hotel was within walking distance to the hospital was excellent. The breakfast, though, left a lot to be desired. It would’ve been just easier to walk two blocks to McDonald’s and would’ve been tastier.

I was having a procedure at a nearby hospital and my husband was supposed to stay 2 nights in the hotel. He decided to stay one of those nights in the hospital with me instead of the hotel. So we called to let them know that we weren’t staying the first night, but that we would be there for the following. Called the following day to see about checking in early and they said they had canceled our reservation bc we never showed up. I explained to them everything and was rudely told “fine, we have 1 room available”. Our room was still being cleaned when we went up. It was very noisy. Our door rattled like someone was trying to constantly enter. For some reason the water pipes were extremely loud as well.

There were good marks on wall that should have been wiped down, I noticed right away, the beds were not comfortable, also the traffic noise was terrible, and the noise from doors being closed all hours of the night inside, I needed rest because of having surgery at Mayo, and I did not get that. We will not be staying again.

We stayed one night for an early appointment. The stay was fine, nothing fancy, a little more run down than other holiday inns, the room was comfortable. We booked this hotel because it was close to the clinic and had breakfast. Unfortunately when we went down to breakfast at 7am, everything was gone. No coffee, one egg omelet left, no bacon, no gravy for the biscuits, waffle machine was out of order. It was a very disappointing morning when we wanted to have a quick warm breakfast before our appointments. We waited for about 20 minutes for food to come out and nothing ever did. No one came to check, and couldn’t find anyone to ask. Hotel was fine but breakfast was disappointing.
