Cathedral is the absolute best of the Berg. A truly special place and so grateful to have been able to stay on my way up to Johannesburg.
Amazing walks on the doorstep, which are required to ensure the extra kilograms put on by the amazing food is limited.
Will definitely be back next time I'm in ZAR.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful valley. Lots of activities on offer. And many hikes with free maps or guides. The food was excellent and plentiful. We were delighted.

Lovely experience! Thank you to all the staff!

The location is fantastic. The staff are friendly, welcoming and the service was very efficient. The room was very clean and had plenty of space to store clothes and belongings. We both enjoyed the food and there was plenty of meat options. My partner is pescatarian and would have welcomed some vegetarian sausages options at breakfast. Otherwise the food was good quality and well presented. Overall a super hotel, great location and a very relaxing time. When we booked our room said limited views of the berg but that want quite true. Standing on the balcony we had almost unlimited views!

After taking a long slow drive to get to the hotel, the views of the mountains made it all worth it! Everything about the hotel and service were excellent. Will definitely try to come back here in future and try the loads of activities I did not have time for this time around.

Lovely grand old hotel in a really good area. The food was excellent and the rooms were lovely too. All very clean. The drive to the hotel is very difficult, though, full of potholes. Also, a number of the walks were very overgrown and muddy (mud could have been covered over a bit with grass or sand and grass cut to more clearly show the walks). Some of the facilities were a little run down or absent (e.g. no bowling, no evening entertainment) but it was lovely and quiet with spectacular views.

This was the most awesome place ever me and my 7 friends had a blast we stayed a week and just did not want to go..... The staff friendliness was awesome and always smiling willing to help food out of heaven only one complain t....I must have picked up so much weight ...lol we did not miss one meal a visit again is waiting.. well done guys
there was just one thing I would like you to look at it was the quad biking it was really fun and we enjoyed it much but the bikes is not well maintained for sure as my bike broke down and in the next group another one broke down and that is not safe and they were very dirty even if we went through the mud again it should have been cleaned for new guests but still had loads of fun

A charming resort. Beautiful location. Helpful and pleasant staff, especially Zinhle on the front desk and Wiseman in the dining room. Both staff members were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. An asset to the resort. Food plentiful. Chalets very comfortable. Lots of activities.

Fantastic hotel, stunning scenery of the Drakensburg mountains, and many walks for all levels of walkers starting out straight from the hotel. The room rate also includes a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner - as well as both morning tea and afternoon tea served on the terrace. There are a range of activities organised as part of your stay, including evening entertainment and guided walks. Highly recommended.

The area and views around the property are stunning. Also there is so much to do. Walks are organized by the hotel, there is golfing and mini golf, lawn bowling, swimming and much more. This is an old fashioned hotel and might be viewed by some as dated. We loved it all and would not have changed a thing. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The food is not gourmet but it is good and there is plenty of it. We plan to go back one day.

Lovely location, great facilities for kids, but quite dated and needs to be spruced up a bit. Bedrooms are basic. Restaurant is ok, but a lot of the food is re-used the next day.

Great stay in a wonderful location. All inclusive resort (except for activities such as golf & quad bikes and drinks). Buffet meals, generally good quality and unlimited quantity + afternoon tea and cake. Chalet room very comfortable, HUGE bed, good shower - though I cant wait for someone to introduce thermostatic shower valves to South Africa. Great scenery and walking from the door. Good value for UK residents.

We stayed in a honeymoon suite and the views were simply amazing. Jock the Bushbock visited us on a daily basis. It's quite a walk to the restaurant but with an excellent full board, you'll need the exercise anyway. Staying and hiking in a world heritage location and its beatiful surrounding nature made our short 3 nights stay perfect. Take the locally provided helicopter tour (40 minutes with sparkling wine) and you will appreciate the majestic character of this beautiful region, it's really value for money.

The setting is glorious and the walks very varied and plentiful. Typical buffet dining fare is also plentiful and of a consistently good standard. Accommodation is very comfortable and spacious.

Excellent location to explore the drakensburg mountains. The room was perfect, big and comfortable, and looking out over the mountains. There are two pools, one of which is heated which is great as it wasn’t all that warm when we visited. The mini golf was great fun. The food was buffet style, with a carvery area and noodle section.

I really enjoyed my stay at Cathedral Peak Hotel. The staff were friendly and it was great value with breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet included!Surrounded by the Drakensberg mountains, Cathedral Peak is the starting point to alot of easy and medium terrain walking trails. Daily guided tours are also provided by the hotel. Thanks Happiness for taking us up to Baboon Rock :)Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience a nice getaway in the Drakensberg!

We had a noisy water heater next door. We made a comment to management and they (Joseph) immediately resolved the situation for us. Exceptional service. In general the staff was very engaging and helpful.

I'm struggling with my review here as we had previously been spoilt with warm South African hospitality at other locations on our trip and this wasn't so apparent here, but that doesn't imply poor service. A little disappointed to have booked a superior room because it apparently offered a mountain view when the dominant view was the roof of a building in front. The property has the feeling of an ageing holiday camp, but its clean and there is a good choice of food at the buffet. For us, this property was all about the location - a stunning setting with fantastic walking on the doorstep!

A stunning setting with magnificent views of the Drakensberg. Numerous walks in the mountains and valleys, with a guide if required. The hotel is unpretentious, comfortable and friendly. We’ve had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful part of the world.
