Restful, uplifting environment in which to stay - I went for a stopover and would have liked to have stayed for a week.

Really nice and homely, interesting people, flexible arrangements with meals, good location.

The property has a nice vibe to it. Glastonbury is a very spiritual place. And Camelot Retreat was a nice reflection of the community.

B&B is in a residential area outside the center but close to the Tor. Whilst bedding and towels were freshly laundered, the overall state of the property was outdated, dusty, with cobwebs in the rooms and dirt in corners plus the garden was in a right state. Nothing like the pictures and didn't feel peaceful or a place of rest. Breakfast options very limited, go to Heaphy's or Timos in town instead. Overall the owner seemed very disinterested and apathic. A lot of notes scattered around the property informed you of the strict rules (mainly around food and drink, how to behave and what is expected of you, for example being very, very, very quiet). Can only reiterate what somebody said before, didn't feel like a holiday, felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave the next day.

This was a lovely place to stay for the one night that I needed it. The room was nice and warm which I appreciated as the weather was wet, cool & windy while I was there. Bed was also very comfortable and I felt content to be in my room for the evening. It was a nice bonus to have access to the meditation room and a small library of wonderful books. Good selection of breakfast items too. Easily walkable to everything I wanted to see in Glastonbury.

This Buddist retreat was ok for a place to sleep. Evelen was there and greated upon arrival. House rules are stringent with no meat for cooking. Didn't see anyone but Evelen while there. No place out of the weather to store the bike, which was stored out in the back garden. Breakfast simple and serve yourself. I'm not a buddist but took note of Evelen saying I had to much baggage by leaving a large towel behind. Ha ha. I'd rate this place OK for a quite stay.

It's a magical place, with magical people that made my staying there so lovely and joyful. I'm super satisfied about having chose this place.

There was no mention in the description that this was a vegetarian only establishment. NO meat, fish or alcohol was allowed (even in the room) and there were restrictive quiet hours. “Breakfast included” actually meant cold cereal, toast (one morning there wasn’t any bread provided) and eggs- all self service and self cleanup. Rooms were clean and comfortable but it certainly didn’t feel like a holiday.

Very peaceful and comfortable space. Excellent hosts.

Unfortunately it was very thin walls, you can hear other guests talking and walking but everyone tried to take concern. Would have loved a better lamp for reading in the room. You have to share bathroom with several other guests, but I guess that is one reason why the price is lower than in most places. Nice with the garden and that it is a bit away from traffic, still only about 15 min walk to Chalice Well and to the town centre.

I arrived late and was welcomed. I liked the flexibility of having breakfast at your own time. My only concern is that the walls are thin and you can hear every sound from downstairs and in adjoining rooms and bathroom.

A very lovely, well-run BnB in Glastonbury which I highly recommend. Located in a quiet area, close to the Tor.

Owners are well meaning and nice people. but have no idea how to run the place. Miserable damp towels, had to make our own breakfast with minimal stuff found in fridge, then wash up. Bed occupied almost whole room. Bathroom shared with many. Cramped, uncomfortable. No privacy.Owners are new age Mystics and very pleasant but need to visit other B&B places to learn how to make people comfortable. Most guests in Glastonbury for spiritual awakening, perhaps no interested in material things.

We stayed here and got to meet some very special spiritual persons. We were about a 10 minute walk from town.

The owner is a kind woman. The interior of the house is nice. From my rooms window, I saw a Glastonbury Tor. If you use Castle Carry train station, probably you can receive a pick up service from the station to Glastonbury by paying additional fee.

Probably worst experience I have ever had at a place of accommodation. They would not accommodate my late arrival due to traffic caused by road works on the M4 when I informed them that it would take longer than originally planned.I was told, very bluntly, that if I arrive after midnight they would lock the door and lose my money.Had to sleep in a carpark for the night as no hotels in my price range were available in the area. Why does someone have to keep my money for not giving anything in return? It was late in the day and tI doubt she had other guests coming if she didnt want to allow us in.

Camelot Retreat is a good alternative to a hotel. I do not think B&B's can be rated using the same expectations as a hotel. The owner works very hard to insure all her guests are comfortable and have enough of anything..from breakfast to umbrellas. The home and rooms are clean..the setting is quiet and convenient and occassionally you may have to wait your turn for the bathroom.
Valerye wants to provide a quiet...
even meditative setting. That is clear in the description and since it was as described...we found it very pleasant and hospitable. Doubt a hotel managerwould have popped our rain soaked jackets in the dryer.

Stayed one night at this delightful B&B. Valerye was a thoughtful hostess! We arrived by taxi from Bristol Airport. Valerye can help find the best fares! We were able to leave our luggage at the B&B ahead of our checkin time, walk to the nearby town center, see the Glastonbury sights (with helpful hints from Valerye). Lovely room with a view of the Tor!

It was my first visit to Glastonbury hence was rather apprehensive as to what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised.Regarding Camelot Retreat I must admit I didnt expect it to be in a residential estate so had difficulty in finding it even with the SATNav.It was comfortable, clean, usual breakfast lay out but with fresh fruits which I consider a plus point. There was even a room for meditation.

My one night at the Camelot was a special one. The owner Valerye is a kind and sincere women. She took much care in making sure I was taken care of and that my stay in Glastonbury was meaningful. There was one other guest while I was there and it was nice to connect with them.
Thank you Valerye!!

What's the difference between a B&B and a retreat? This place was listed by Expedia as a B&B and we booked on that basis, but when I asked for tea and milk in the room I was told by the owner that it wasn't a B&B but a 'retreat' and we could use the kitchen downstairs, altho the owner did bring up some stuff. Also this was booked as a 'de luxe' room but there was no en suite, no washbasin in the room, a rather grubby in parts, shabby bathroom/toilet across the landing shared with 3 other bedrooms, some of which were double (another bathroom downstairs was no use to me in the night because I am disabled), no chairs, no bedside lights, wardrobes full of owner's clothes, only a rickety folded up spare bed on which to put the suitcase. The owner thought we were staying 2 nights when we'd only booked the one, she asked us for payment when we had already paid on booking and seemed unaware we had gone thro Expedia, she was keen to get us out because she 'wanted to take the washing out' even tho we were on time to leave before the deadline.

Do not stay here if you expect traditional b& b. We were asked to take shoes off on arrival. There was no where to sit in the bedroom, except on the bed and no bedside tables.
We were talking in our room and asked to keep the noise down at 21.30! After 23.00 or if we were having a row then fair enough, bit that felt very unreasonable.

We were so shocked at the host the minute we got out the car she became bossy and even aggresive And the site are wrongly advertising this as a hotel when its not its just a scruffy b&b

Lovely atmosphere with stunning view of the Tor in a quite secluded location still within easy walking distance of the town centre. All the comforts needed in a B & B

It is indeed a retreat, Valerie offers more than just a bed and breakfast. She offers a range of alternative therapies as well. Both my mother and I had a healing session that was fantastic. We loved the breakfast arrangement where you can get your own toast, eggs, fruit etc. - a relief from yet another English breakfast. Valerie also drove us in her own car to Glastonbury Tor, which was much appreciated after weeks of having to find our own way to everything. We only stayed one night but would have loved to have had a longer stay. Thanks Valerie.
