No power to the rooms. For a hotel in this highly tourist town known for its storm season it is not prepared and doesn’t care about guest comfort. The power from the generator was reserved only for the expensive restaurant. No discount for lack of any power or light in rooms.

We were super excited to stay at what looks like a neat funky place. Soon after arriving in our room, we heard a fan on, so looked and looked to see where it was. The shower room is separate and has a drape to pull across: and the fan was running. A switch to turn it off is no where to be found!! Yes, it runs 24 hours a day! And you will hear it 24 hours a day! I’m not kidding. You hear it at night even with the living room style drape pulled across the shower entrance. Not a quiet room for sleeping in. We checked the restaurant menu for dinner that night, chatted with the host, also looked at the breakfast menu, and asked what time breakfast service starts. We indicated we would be down for breakfast the next day. The host acknowledged our plans. The next morning, it’s closed - for scheduled maintenance. We were told staff all knew this! Well the dots weren’t connecting for the host! The front desk told us the restaurant would be open for happy hour that afternoon, so we planned our itinerary to be back for it. Nope - it wasn’t open then either. So we won’t be staying there again!

It was really cool! The hotel was fun and close to Chesterman Beach. We walked in 10-15 minutes. Dinner was good.didnt try the hot tub, but found the hidden arcade.

Nice stay,vcool place ...stay longer (unless you are on a budget) Highlights: colorful design , nice lobby and lounge , respecting ecological aspects. Piisaak in the Garden a good documentation of the necessity to keep nature as it is of the necessity to be a rebel when culture of first nation and / or the natural surroundings are in danger...thanks to Hotel Zed for leaving the booklet to the clients , thanks to Hotel Zed for its engagement.Further Highlights : Hot Pool, ..outlook at the inlet......space to improve : Coffee Service in the room....restaurant when full--> noisy atmosphere --> bicicles rent should be incouded in th roomprice ......

The decor is “bang” on for The 70’s era! Loved the outdoor hot tub & sauna! The food & coffee at restaurant ROAR was outstanding! Wes at the front desk reception was SO into his 70’s groove that it was exhilarating! The room shower was HUGE, bed was awesome, SO many activities to do for families AND the hotel location was perfect, walking distance to the beach, 1/2hr drive from Ucluelet & awesome hiking trails! Would definitely go back!

A little vacation at the sea. Zed Hotel has everything you need. The staff is super! Friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful. The food is excellent with serving staff again knowledgeable, also funny, and engaging. Only problem we experienced was the hot tub was out of service.

This hotel was a great surprise in a fantastic location just outside Tofino town, lots is character and an awesome cocktail bar and pit with a superb restaurant. Staff were welcoming and lots of fun. Love the retro theme. And all on one of the best nature reserves in BC. This is a return to hotel for sure

Very nice stay. A better sign on the highway would be nice…..we drove bay couple of times. Nice to see different styling in a hotel. The Indigenous connection was great to see.

Family-friendly, vintage, dynamic and fun. Filled with surprises in the rainforest as well. Staff are professional and busy with dealing with the peak. Blinds are dusty.

This is a cool little hotel. The room was clean although the hallway rug was stained in several places. The room does not have air conditioning and the window only partially swings open but it was not a problem. Tofino tends to cool especially in the evening. Our room also had an interesting shower situation. It had a large shower that opened right into the room not into a bathroom. There were hooks in the shower to hang a towel or clothes. It would have been excellent if you were showering a small child with you. The staff was very pleasant when we arrived but the info we received was limited although we did get a property map. We found ourselves with many questions…how to get coffee for the room in the morning, what checkout time was, how to use the bike’s etc. There wasn’t info in the room. The hotel itself has some excellent vibes features- shuffleboard, ping pong, arcade games, a place by the mud flats to sit and relax, a hot tub, etc. I think this is an especially excellent place to stay with kids. There is a lot for them to do.

The hotel has everything that should make a hotel great. Good for kids and lots of fun ideas. However staff were slow and unresponsive (apart from one your lady with long dark hair who was great). We spoke to the same lady on the desk a number of times and it just felt like the lights were on but no one was home. Lots of smiles but felt we weren’t being listened to. We requested towels for the hot tub four times before getting them. The bar was slow too. Cool location and in principle this place should be great. We’ve stayed at 2 Fairmonts before arriving here which were nicer and cheaper. Hotel Zed is very over priced for what it is. Wouldn’t recommend it personally …

Fun, funky retro chic design (70s all the way) with a laid back comfortable vibe that’s great for all ages and stages. We really appreciated the onsite dining, easy and free parking, short walk to the beach or drive to town and the myriad places outside and in to gather with friends and family. Great team on staff, warm, helpful and welcoming. We already look forward to our next stay. Oh and a place to launder clothes onsite…wow!

Cool concept of a property (60s-70s style). Higher price includes amenties of hot tub, sauna, laundry services, in-room coffee (electric kettle and percolator), free arcade games, free parking. Has a separate in house cafe and restaurant to purchase additional food. Has additional bike and surf rental services on the property. Great hotel for a family especially if it rains as the amenities keep the kids busy.

Hotel Zed Tofino had a great retro vibe. It was fun to have the arcade, ample area to hang out (inside and out), great restaurant option and coffee spot. They even offer laundry option and coffee in the room. I really don’t enjoyed the sauna and the look out spot behind it; it was a nice quiet spot to enjoy my morning coffee. The restaurant was a bit slow in service when we went but the food was pretty good. Great place to go with kids or solo. I’d come back here again.

The room was very clean, bed was supper comfortable. The hotel was fun, every thing was in like new condition and it’s was right across from the beach. We had a amazing two night stay and look forward to returning.

This is such a cool place. We really enjoyed our time here. The grounds, buildings and surrounding areas are magnificent! Our room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that was slightly inconvenient was the bathroom. There’s really nothing that can be done, but the shower is behind the door (when its open) so privacy is hard to come by. If you do want it though, you will have to hang up your clothes and towel inside the shower and dry off and dress in the shower.

Such a cool hotel! Loved the 70s theme and decor. Staff were so friendly and helpful and everything was in (vintage) mint condition. Lots of fun areas in the hotel to explore and having cocktails by the fire in the sunken lounge was a pleasure. Would absolutely stay again.
