So close to beach. Perfect for sunset pics!

Great location. Friendly staff on front desk. However, rooms are smaller that showed on website. Quite noisy, the was a dog barking inside the room across the first night and very noisy children very early in the morning.

Great Hotel and location.
Lack of staff at reception a bit of a service let down, couple of issues with keys took calls and walking round to get sorted which was the only issue. the rooms were lovely

Nice stay. Room just strange set up for watching TV….. Tv to left of bed. No cable or local channels to watch. Cozy place

This was an awesome stay and will be back at some point. Good location and beach access. The room was romantic and cozy. Loved the gas fireplace!!

One of favourite places to stay in Cannon beach, but we feel the rooms are being neglected. The bathrooms and very worn. The hand towels were as thin as kitchen towels.
The carpets could use a good clean. The drape at the sliding door is water stained. That being said the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

We arrived in town and I couldn’t find any obvious phone contact on hotel site so I could call. Finally found text they sent me and requested check in that way. Went straight to our event because 20 mins ahead of 4:00 pm check in time room was not ready; waited for notification per hotel that room was ready. Never notified. Staff was very nice however and gave us a bottle of wine to compensate for not being able to check in at check in time. The check in time did impact our event as we weren’t able to freshen up (it was a professional photo shoot.) Room was tidy but not overly clean. Carpet was absolutely trashed. Room was a block away from check in office and on second floor, which made it hard for me as I am mobility impaired. Old fashioned key entry only and no door tag to request maid service — and we didn’t get any! Upon checking out we requested a receipt — they said they don’t do printed receipts and would email it to me. Still waiting. Otherwise they were very nice. There was a cute gift bag for our pet included. No elevator. No view.

Make sure that you read the hotel description very carefully. We knew that there were different room types at the McGee cottages, but what we were not aware of was the vast difference between the two. One had a sitting area, kitchenette, larger rooms, etc. The one that we "picked" was barely a 10x10 room. It only had 1 outlet in the entire room, where the tv, lamp, and cable box were plugged into. The adjoining room walls were extremely thin and we could hear everything going on. We didn't have an ice bucket, and the only way to get room service was to call the main desk (which is two blocks away) not on location, the day of before noon. The staff was very friendly, they did find a make shift ice bucket for us to use. We needed some more towels one evening, while we were at the main office, we asked if we could get some, she told us she would have to drive over to our area to get them out of the closet there. It was going to be more of a hassle than what it was worth, but we appreciated them being willing to do it. I apparently didn't do my due diligence in reading the description of the room, and the picture is a little deceiving of the actual size of the room.

It was very comfortable and safe feeling.
Close to everything as we spent most of the time out, so it was nice to have a dependable place to come back to and clean up and relax when needed or just a place to chill with fireplace and views of town and waves.

Slightly inconvenient to register a block away but at least it wasn’t raining. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Minor issues with the room but we pointed those out to the front desk—nothing that couldn’t wait. Super convenient to beach, shops and terrific places to eat. Can’t beat the crab bake feast at Wayfarer’s night before we checked out. Totally worth it. We’d stay again.

The cute, cozy studio cottage with a kitchenette and fireplace was perfect as a solo traveler but would work for a couple as well. Very comfortable bed and 2 minute walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location for this property. We were able to walk to the beach and see the Big Sur rock in about a 15 min walk along the beach. Had dinner at the little yellow house alongside property and it was excellent. Our only disappointment was the stairs we had to climb with our heavy bags (we were on a 2 month trip). The room was clean and spacious but we were worried as the walk up the stairs did not impress! We worried about what I had gotten us into. In the end, we spent little time on/in property and all was good.

I was afraid to use the ice machine. It really needed cleaning.

Great location. The room was nice but did appear to be a bit worn. What appeared to be mildew in the bathroom.

Great place to stay with easy walk to the beach and Haystack Rock. Short walk to nice dining options as well. Pam at the front desk gave us great dining ideas.

Very close to the beach!!! Shower drain was very strong for my friends, but I didn’t care about that. It was okay for me 🌝😌

Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Even though the hotel is over 100 years old, it has been well cared for.

Quaint New England style cottages. Classic queen was comfortable enough and included of fireplace. The building is over 100 years old and so the bathroom does not have the space and accommodations you expect of modern day but they did a good job updating it. No microwave or room for a small refrigerator.

When I got in the room I thought it's old. After some minutes, I changed my mind. It's cozy, clean, and comfort place.

We loved our stay! It’s the perfect location, so close to Haystack Rock and still walking distance to the main downtown area.

Small and quaint hotel, friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are comfortable and shower, while a little small, had wonderful water pressure and plenty of hot water. Short walk to the main part of town and a lot of dining options right next to the hotel. There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel that is nice, and the coffee shop next door has great coffee and morning pastries. We've been here twice and I'd come back again.

1. Check-In Process:
We arrived early, understanding that the official check-in time was 4:00 PM. We were informed that the room was being cleaned and that we would receive a text message once it was ready. Unfortunately, I never received this notification, leading to unnecessary waiting. When it was finally my turn to check in, the front desk staff member, who was busy with other tasks and conversations, did not acknowledge me. This led to a further delay , even though the check-in process itself took only about three minutes.
2. Room Condition:
The room we were assigned was in a different location than what was shown in the booking pictures. The room was old, poorly maintained, and not up to the standard I expected. The most troubling issue was the malfunctioning toilet, which got clogged shortly after we arrived.
3. Customer Service:
I would like to acknowledge the exceptional service provided by one of the staff members, Maya. She went out of her way to assist us in moving to a room that matched what we had booked, which we greatly appreciated. Her professionalism stood out amidst the other issues we encountered.
4. Parking Lot Incident:
After checking out, we discovered that our car, which had been parked in the hotel's parking lot, had been hit. When we requested access to surveillance footage, the video provided was blurry and did not offer any helpful information. This incident was a disappointing end to an already troubling stay.

Loved the hotel. Great rooms, great Decor and amazing location.

We stayed in the McBee property and loved it. The location was right next to the beach, the room was clean and cozy, and it’s very walkable to all the shops and restaurants in the area.
There was some left over hair from previous guests in the bathroom, and almost every single towel or wash cloth had stains on them but they all smelled clean.
Overall a great trip, we enjoyed it and will be back in the future if we can book for a similar price!

Nice location and very convenient parking. Room was nice and well appointed but was very hot with no A/C. The fan was a nice touch but it was uncomfortable at night to sleep so warm even with the window open. Otherwise it was a great experience.

They do not clean while you are in the room but overall clean and in a good location

Hotel was historic.
Management was very poor. Hotel had dirty towels- worn with stains and holes. There was no housekeeping service. Room so small there was no closet or chair (s).
Hotel very expensive. I would give it a 3 rating.
