The Cotton Sail is on the river and offers great views and you can walk to all of the shopping and dining spots rather quickly. But watch those cobblestones, bricks, and rocks on the pathways while you shop. They are ankle twisters if you miss and step off or in-between them. The hotel itself was just okay. Floors in the room had wall paint splatters from renovations and were dirty with dust and hair, disgusting really. The silver lining: the bed and linens were very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean minus the floor, but it looked a bit dark and grimy. Be advised, there are no microwaves or mini refrigerators in the king bed rooms; at least those things weren't in the room I had.
The staff was excellent. The valet service was top notch. All in all, I rate this hotel a solid four out of five stars. Why not grade the hotel less, one might ask because this is a review concerning the hotel....My solid answer is this: the staff was and is amazing. Maybe the cleaning staff needs better training or there just needs to be more hires for that position. Also.....
visitors should be aware that the streets below get crazy loud. You will hear the music, the people, cars, boat horns, everything! So if you want a quiet stay, this may not be the place for you. But if you're used to city living and love the energy of city life, give the Cotton Sail a try. I don't know if I would choose the hotel for another stay. However, I definitely would go back to Savannah.

Charming hotel, nice staff and location.

No refrigerator (needed to cool insulin- had to use ice all day/nite), no microware, $45/day valet parking- no free parking, and no breakfast- at extra cost.

The only thing I will say that I liked about the property was the location - it was a great spot, convenient to attractions, trolley, and restaurants. Other then that, it was a huge disappointment from the time we pulled up to the valet parking until the time we left. There are no bellman at this "supposed" luxury boutique hotel. So, here are 2 women in their 60's taking their own luggage out of the car, and dragging it to the room. The restaurant had no regular coffee on Monday, and also no bread except white bread. The room was acceptable, but that is all I can say about it for the price that we paid. It definitely could use some remodeling. We could not get the safe to work, called maintenance, they supposedly fixed it, but it still wouldn't work. Had to call them back again until they were finally able to get it to work for us. There are no refrigerators, even if you ask for one, and the floors definitely need to be refinished. At check out, I called down and asked if someone could help the two of us with our luggage, and was politely told No, we do not have bellman. I asked if perhaps one of the valets could assist us if possible. She said she would check and see, and if so send him to our room. He did come, kudos to him, and took our luggage down to the car for us. I am retired, and no longer have any Hilton status. I used to be minimum Gold when I worked, and was always treated with utmost respect and received wonderful service at Hilton. Not here.

Great location & service.

Close to all the shops and District Live- $40 Valet parking was a bit much with not many other overnight parking options in the area. Floors in the room were pretty sticky- good view but very small sketchy balcony. No fridge in room so bring a cooler. overall- not bad

The Cotton Sail Hotel is one of our favorite's, the staff is amazing! The beds are super comfortable! We love the rooftop bar! Food is always spectacular at The Nest! It is the perfect location right on the river! We will be back for sure!

Property was right in the middle of shopping area, right on the river and easily walkable.
Bathroom could have been bigger and there should be more space to hang towels when used

Staff was very nice, floor in room were wood which was fine but was very dirty wirh lots of pet hair. Shower very difficult to operate. Location was great. Would stay again if they could make sure the floor was clean.

Great location!! Loved that it was within walking distance of River Walk and City Market. We stayed in a river view balcony room and I would have preferred it had a better cleaning. Floors were sticky and with the dark color wood you can see all the dust. Also thought it was strange there was no trash bin in the bathroom. Wish there would have been a refrigerator in the room as well. The bed was comfy but could tell it was an older mattress (lumpy and low spots). Was disappointed about the size of the balcony. Was hoping to be able to sit out there and watch the river but there is standing room only. Also, did not see when booking that valet parking is required. Makes sense for the area but just was surprised to learn that.

We had a great trip in Savannah and staying at the Cotton Sail. Sandra at the front desk was top notch. Our room was a bit behind being ready, she updated us and went above and beyond after checked in; the next morning she text'd to see if we needed anything.
The room was clean, well stocked. the pillows weren't the best but that's common in Hilton properties. And that is the only negative, the pillows. Nothing, but good things.... great location, grabbed a drink every evening upstairs, they were great as well!

Staff was very welcoming and accommodating and the room was pleasant with a great view and cute balcony. All together a beautiful stay

Hair on pillow case and lotion dispenser not attached to wall. Signage from the street adjacent to the river could be greatly improved since Google maps directed me to that entrance. Once inside the building, there is no signage to tell you that you are in the hotel or directions to get to the lobby. Otherwise, the service staff was fantastic, excellent location, and stylish hotel.

Shawn, the lady at the desk stayed on the phone with us giving turn by turn directions after our GPS sent us in the wrong direction. Such great service and with a smile. Beautiful hotel with beautiful views and very comfortable.

The Cotton Sail is in a great location to explore Savannah, and the price is reasonable. The hotel itself is a bit tired, and could use a refresh. Also, Apple Maps took us down to River Street, which isn't the entrance to the hotel. Someone needs to fix this!

Loyal Hiltons Reward members very disappointed in 50th Wedding Anniversary hotel. Room very plain with very average furniture. All wood antique flooring was unique but not comfortable. River view small balcony was a nice plus we did enjoy, and pay for. Advertised lounge and then rooftop dining and bar were colossal disappointments; very second rate in service, food, and atmosphere. Also the dining was third party so not room chargeable with Rewards benefits. 2 out of 3 front desk help were unconcerned and no help. Two nights we had extremely loud clunking neighbors above which they only got quieted down after 3 complaints to midnight. I will commend concierge and house keeping, they were great. We chose Hilton for a once in a lifetime celebration and were truly disappointed.

Water was Lukewarm for sink and shower instead of hot. Found a fingernail on the floor and very dirty around edges of furniture. Stay away from fifth floor as it is the floor below the rooftop lounge, so the noise is constant.
Elevators were slow. Walls are paper thin I could hear the next rooms conversations. River view was nice, but balcony is tiny.

Very nice hotel. Our only issue was with the restaurant on the 6th floor. It was sub-par to say the least and the decor was awful. Our room was just fine and the staff was friendly.

Beware that parking is Valet only and it cost $39 for them to park my car 20ft away from where I left it and I was told three times that the valet drivers work for tips only, also the management recently remove a guest ability to use the HDMI input on the tv in the room and people who travel allot use that for a firestick or other device, otherwise its a great hotel in a great location.

The hotel is in a great location right in the middle of everything. We had a balcony it is really small but you could walk on it

We got there and the directions on the gps take you to River Street which is essentially the rear entrance instead of the main entrance where the valet is. That was very frustrating. The lobby was extremely tight and hard to maneuver.
The first room we were in was on the 3rd floor and had a large step down about a third of the way down. We had a 2 year old with us and so we asked if there was another room because this was dangerous for her to play around. They said they could get another room and so we changed.
They put us on the 5th floor on the corner which is directly underneath the rooftop bar. They could have told us we could move, however, the room would be rather noisy but they did not say anything.
We moved to the new room and everything seemed okay. The floors were a bit sticky and dust was everywhere (things didn't seem the cleanest).
Around 7 pm or so the loud music started. For hours we heard extremely loud music and bass that literally shook the room. Online the hours said it closed at 11 pm so I toughed it out. The loud music did not stop until SIX IN THE MORNING. I got maybe an hour of sleep.
I asked the front desk about this and they did not offer to move us or do anything and just said "River street is loud". This had nothing to do with River Street... it was just the rooftop bar directly above us.
We ended up moving to a different hotel and did not get a partial refund. Taking that loss was worth it. Never staying at that hotel again

Rooms are definitely overpriced. However, the Riverview rooms with a balcony are great for those who like to see the cargo tankers and other boats pass by. The hotel is directly on the riverwalk with stores and restaurants. Downside is the sticky wood floors that appear to never be mopped. This was my second stay and I experienced the dirty, drip stained floors both times. The bathroom are moderately clean. The countertop in our bathroom was not wiped down and we found shaving hairs on the vanity mirror which was gross!! We had an 11:30 a.m. checkout granted by a nice lady at checkin, but the housekeeping girl knocked at 11 and seems perturbed that we were still in the room. She posted up outside our room with another housekeeper and waited for us to exit and gave us a smirk! The checkout clerk did not acknowledge our presence until I got her attention at the opposite end of the counter near the windows and interrupted her texting. Not a “thank you” “how was your stay” or “goodbye “. She took the room cards and nonchalantly stated that she’d emailed me a receipt, and then turned around. She was obviously having a bad day or she hates her job everyday. Either way, she does not represent Cotton Sail Hotel well and she needs to be retrained! I definitely will not stay here again unless I get a deal out of this world. BTW- valet parking is $38 a night unless you want to trek around for other options.

They’re for business. The Top Sail rooftop bar and restaurant was terrible. I think that is an outside business. But it really took away from the experience.

Could not stay at hotel due to death of the familiy member… Hotel management will not respond for cancelation for past 4 days and would not refund any money back… I would recommend this place

Location is excellent, Employees very friendly, bed comfy and view fantastic. The room had a balcony but really, really small and only room for 2 people to stand on it and it is also scary as it seems like it would be unstable so not worth the extra money to book this. Gym is really small, only 3 machines and a yoga ball, no weights. Rooftop bar/restaurant is very cute and excellent view.

I have stayed with The Cotton Sail for several years in the past for an annual conference. I can say it has gone down badly. The elevators were out, there was a musty smell in all of our rooms (5 of us), and the floor was so sticky that I had to wear my shoes in my room. I'm returning to Savannah later this year, and I have canceled my reservation and switched to a different Riverstreet hotel. It is one of the most expensive and has always been worth it; however after this trip, my loyalty will have to go elsewhere.
