We brought bicycles and the manager stored them for us in a locked room, so we did not need to keep them on our vehicles. The location was great for our trip, as it is close to down town and the community facilities at the bay.

The check was by remote video. They could not provide the shower chair l needed. The area was not the best surrounding by a prison , sheriff’s office court house etc. Dining was poor in the neighborhood. It was quiet but quite decrepit. Wouldn’t chose to stay again

The Motel is clean enough. The area is in Old Town. Some homeless sleeping around on the streets when going out for morning walks. Motel check-in process is done "remotely" via cameras and scanners.I never saw a physical person, just on camera. On the day of check-out, I did see a maid. There is no daily maid service in the room. Everything was fine for the price point!!.

Will not be staying there

It's an old property in a not-so-great area of town, as it's right across the street from the county jail. It's also very old construction, with the second floor (where the rooms are located) and parking area supported by pole and beam construction, which is exceptionally unsafe in earthquakes. I had to reset the air conditioner twice overnight by recycling the power to get it to work.
But the worst is the check-in and check-out process. The owner has chosen to use a kiosk staffed by offshore customer service reps, and the entire check-in process is done through a monitor and camera. There's no local staffing of the front desk. It felt impersonal, and left me wondering what might occur in the case of an actual emergency.
I cannot recommend this property. There are plenty of other options in Eureka.

This hotel is outdated, had a hole in the wall, dirty carpet. I did not feel welcome, the hotel called me while driving to adk when i was i going to show up. They called me around 11 & said i couldn't check in until 3. Not sure why they needed to know what exact time I was arriving. The AI check in machine was a bit off, & again not friendly. Said if i damaged the room i would have to pay for it. I am a 54 yr female that has NEVER been charged for ANY room that i stayed at. Highly offensive. Would not ever recommend or stay here again. Honestly needs to be condemned. Spring in the bed was poking me, pillows were flat & over used. I do believe i deserve some time of compensation for it. I left without sleeping & at before 1am as i felt it was a dirty room that wasn't safe

First time checking in with a remote front desk person.

This was a dated motel - it has seen better days.
The carpet was shot.
Plumbing fixtures were dated.
Beds were marginally comfortable.
The neighborhood was shady - lots of street people. I got the feeling that it was lucky that my car wasn’t broken into. To be fair, I think Eureka has seen better days as well.
Check in was done by a person working remotely via a kiosk - a new experience for me, I’m not sure I liked it.
The photos of the room obscured what the room really looked like.

Being stuck a in eureka ca. because car broke down it was good for the price, had to stay an additional night even though the 9ne time i was able to talk to a person at the desk i was informed room charge would not change. The next dat it doubled, person at virtual atm said that they couldn't do anything. Alot of homeless around property didnt feel safe with my daughters, they watched 3 fights from there room window, wont stay there again

Paking was a challenge

It was OK, the room did not felt clean, smelly, no on site staff, the beds are warn and uncomfortable.
4.0 / 5.0
The room was clean, in garage parking and staff was friendly even with the unusual checkin and checkout process of no in-person contact but was efficient.
What I did not like was a feeling of not a safe area due to the security process at the hotel.
However was quiet and did not encounter any issues.

This hotel is across the street from a correctional institution, is severely outdated, smelled musty & unclean. There was someone else left over food in the fridge. The bathroom & room were not clean (dirty & mold/unkept). The a appeared clean, but exciting end was a complete disappointment.

Rooms haven't been updated since probably the 1990s. Highlight was my daughter calling for the unfortunate homeless guy next to the stairs who OD'd and was unconscious. Police and ambulance showed up in less than a minute.

Okay for 1 night stopover. Hotel was alright, but all we heard all night were homeless people outside shouting and sirens. We were glad to leave in the morning.

For the price, it wasn’t too bad, but I have definitely been to nicer places for the price point.

This place is absolutely horrendous! The place smelled like cigarettes when I got there I notified the front office immediately that my room smelled like an ashtray. He said ok and wouldn’t move my room..then upon checkout accused me of smoking and told me he was keeping my deposit. Had the housekeeping staff swearing and calling me stupid and threatening to call police after I requested a late checkout. DO NOT RENT HERE ! Unless you want to be harassed and have your deposit extorted from you

It’s rare I say do NOT stay somewhere but just don’t do it. It is so run down and not in a safe area. There is no management on site, you check in virtually in the lobby over zoom. It’s the first time I requested a refund and thought that I simply could not stay somewhere. They would not refund my money.

Overall good hotel.

The room is a little tired, but everything was clean. Having chargers for EVs was a nice touch, but the parking lot is really tight if you have a minivan or pick-up. Most of the rooms on are on the second floor, and there's no elevator.
The worst thing is the check-in. There was no attendant. Everything was done via an off-shore call center, and the connection was wonky. Given his accent, I guessed that the attendant was in the Philippines, but when I asked him where he was, and all he would say was that he was in the "back-up office." It doesn't really matter where he was if the check-in was done via an online kiosk, but his dodging the question was weird.
We had a family suite, which was nice to have the girls in another room for a change instead of in the adjoining bed.
Overall, the hotel was a decent place to stay for the price.

Lost $2.50 in beverage machine. Was locked out of our room and had to have new keys made. Not our fault.
Didn’t like the offsite manager. Had we known that would have chosen a different motel.

Check in via zoom. Did not appear to be any staff on site. Very poor neighborhood

It was conveniently located. Not as noisy as one would expect due to location.
Room was very tight. But at a better price and had all of the amenities one needs.
Check in was high tech and weird.

The bathroom sink was leaky and wouldn't stop, kept me up. Besides that pretty average experience.

The room was much bigger than I was expecting

The room was extremely run down and a couple of the towels were unclean upon inspection. There was no one in the lobby to check us in. It was done by a zoom call on a computer. Would never pay as much as I did by staying there again.

Hotel is fine. Nothing elaborate just a decent place to spend the night. Not the cleanest but not dirty. Priced accordingly. Only concern is the deposit, watch you credit card statement to verify your deposit gets returned.

I feel like the pictures of this place wildly misrepresent it. Pulling up its grimy and gross and the parking lot is extremely small. Compact cars were having trouble fitting in the spots. The bar attatched is less quaint historic pub and more scuzzy dive bar. Complete with drunks passed out on the sidewalk and out back. Check in was done through a skype based digital platform that malfunctioned multiple times just in trying to get checked in. The night attendant had a very thick accent which didnt help when trying to fix the issues with the digital portal and they tried to charge us for the room twice instead of reaching out to expedia/travelocity when there was a mixup with our reservation. Honestly, between how gross and sketchy it was and the trouble we had at check-in we called travelocity and had them cancel the whole booking. Cant vouch for the cleanliness of the rooms or anything, but you couldnt have paid me to get that far into the place.

The AC / Heating unit probably needs replacement. It is noisy and cycles all the time - so much so that we turned it off and almost froze.

Dani is a very funny, sweet and kindhearted soul. He made us feel extremely safe and comfortable and checking in on the kiosk was a fun new experience. I love everything about the place especially the rooms with the suite!!!

I really enjoyed the deep jetted tub. And the one person on staff was trying to be accommodating but I was put off that he was standing there, but I had to go on a screen on a computer to talk to someone off site to check in. Everything else was not "historic old town" it was just old. There was no special attention to restoration and making you feel like you were visiting the past. There was literally no lobby, just a commercial desk area that was locked until the attendant let you in and only one person could fit at a time. The connected dining was not really connected, you had to go out to the street and enter through an exterior door. It was your typical dive bar and would have been fun but no, it was restricted from keeping bar hours and had to close at 10pm "because it was in the same building as the hotel". I guess you get what you pay for since it said it was a 2 star hotel, yup, I gave it 2 stars.
