A friend and I spent 3 nights at the Sauce Hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, everything was clean, and the breakfasts were wonderful. They even put a bag breakfast together for us on the day we left very early for Machu Picchu. The location was great, with an easy walk to everything including the train station. Filtered water was available in the dining area 24 hours a day. I would definitely stay again.

Immediately felt at home the second I walked in. Staff was beyond friendly and easy to communicate with. Incredibly helpful, even carried my big, heavy suitcase up the stairs for me. They upgraded my room to one with a better view which was awesome. Held my bags for me after check out and just overall a very positive experience. The breakfast was exactly what I needed. Would stay again!

Great place to stay before your trek to Macchu Picchu. Macarena had some excellent recommendations for restaurants. Room was impeccable with fantastic view of the ruins.

Great breakfasts. Helpful staff. Basically right on the main square of town. Ollantaytambo is beautiful, and the ruins are easily walkable from this location. They packed an early breakfast for us for our day trip to Machu Picchu. They arranged a taxi back to Cusco for us when we left after our three day stay. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Great little hotel.

Staff was very helpful. Hotel rooms do not have heat. Staff provided a space heater at no cost which helped heat the room.

Superb plentiful buffet breakfast with diced fresh fruits; local cereals; various yogurts; nuts; home-made butter and jams; local organic honey; various cheeses and ham; rolls; freshly squeezed fruit juices; coffee and teas; freshly made eggs to order. Free filtered water available 24/7. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent WiFi throughout. Great hot shower. Comfortable bed. Great views of the Inca mountain stronghold. Superb position between station and main square. Right next to mini markets and restaurants. Wonderful friendly staff.

Lot of character. Loved the lounge/fireplace area near reception. Good breakfast selection including eggs/pancakes made to order. Bed comfortable. Great location - 2 minute walk to town square and ruins. Only small downside was poor water pressure in shower. Staff (especially Amalia) were lovely.

The location of the hotel was great. Had a room with a window that framed the ruin. There is a lot to see in the town of Ollantaytambo and more to see in the surrounding areas. The staff, especially Anais, was very helpful. The lobby and breakfast area were warm and colorful and Anais has great taste in music. The bed was perfect.

The location is pretty good, about 10 minutes walking to the railway station and about 50 meters to the town center. The owner and the staff were very friendly. My son and I really enjoyed our stay in this nice hostal. Thanks!

We stayed at this hostal one night upon our return from Machu Picchu and before going to Cusco. The hostal is in an excellent location which is within a block from the Inca ruins and market place. Restaurants are very close. The person checking us in spoke very little English so we were not able to ask about a taxi to take us to Cusco the next day. We were able to arrange a taxi online so it was no problem. The next morning a different person was there who spoke more English and was more than willing to help with whatever we needed. All in all I would highly recommend staying at this hostal. It is an excellent value and is in a great location.

This is a small inn, as all of the hotels are in Ollantaytambo. Eggs to order in the morning along with bread, assorted cheeses and meets, fresh fruits, assorted cereals and yogurt. Small but enjoyable. The location cant be beat. Steps away from the ruins and train station. The front desk staff was very helpful, while she doesnt speak much English she spoke enough to communicate well. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms nice, clean and large showers with hot water. The only drawback was no elevator so prepare to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs (not a big deal for us). This was was second trip to Ollantaytambo and second stay at Hotel Sauce. We stayed in room 15 which had an excellent view of the ruins.

Nice hotel in a good, central location. Rather dim lighting in the rooms. We, and other guests, ran out of hot water one morning, but no problems the other 2 days. Some street noise from honking cars, but it's a sleepy town and things quieted down pretty early in the evening. Really close to restaurants, convenience stores, the main plaza, and the archaeological site (actually many archaeological sites). 10-15 minute easy, safe walk to the train station. Really nice breakfast.

This was the most expensive hotel that I stayed during my trip to Peru, more expensive then the 4 stars hotels in Cuzco. When I booked it through here, the description told that it had air conditioning and TV. $105 a night!!! When I complained to them they said wasnt their fault and told me they couldnt do nothing and that I should complain to hotel.com. They could give me a discount cause I made payment at the checkout, but no. The breakfast table wasnt set properly, we had to asked for hot milk, bowls and glasses.

This hotel is way overpriced. Many other fine hotels at 40-50% cheaper within a few blocks. The hotel staff does not speak English and was not helpful. We were trapped in Ollaytantambo for days due to massive strikes, all roads closed. The staff was not helpful, didn't seem to know what was going on. Other hotels made arrangements for their guests.

Ollantaytambo is a beautiful little town. From the moment we arrived, Erika at the front desk was wonderfully accommodating. When she realized that it was my birthday from my passport, she made a card, and the whole staff sign it, and made a little cupcake. Talk about service! The breakfast is pretty extensive, and just the right thing before setting out for the day. The hotel was clean, and Erika gave us some good restaurant recommendations. We went to Apu Veronica twice in three days and had the alpaca steak each time. It was delicious. A couple of days before arriving, we called the hotel to arrange an airport pickup from Cusco. That worked out well, and it felt just a little bit safer than calling a cab off the street. It cost $35-$40 (I forget exactly how much.)

What a wonderful place to stay! The location was superb, only a block from the main square and two blocks to the ruins themselves. Erica, the manager, was fantastic and so helpful with suggestions. The room was great, very comfortable beds and with a perfect view of the ruins while relaxing in bed. Coffe was ready at 5:30 which was nice since I get up early. The hot breakfast was excellent.
I would highly recommend the Hostal Sauce to anyone visiting the area.
