The property is excellently centrally located. Parking is available off and on street. It’s relatively quiet, shower water is hot and bathrooms are plentiful. We both prefer a more firm mattress than what was on the bed. Downsides? The room is very cramped with almost no hanging or drawer space - but that’s not a problem if you’re there for a couple of days only and you travel lightly. The overhead fan can’t be used if you’re a light sleeper - it makes a high pitched mosquito like sound, in the background!
The place is peaceful with pastoral views, cattle grazing and horses strolling in the fields.

I like my own bathroom so this hippie guest house was really not my style! Quaint and very suitable for young backpackers! More of a backpacker lodge than a guest house!

We loved our stay here, it was only a quick overnight one but we will definitely be back. We arrived later than planned so the night manager checked us in, she was so warm and friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. The facilities are fantastic and everything was cleaned to perfection. The view first thing in the morning is just beautiful! We greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely place and can't wait to come back!

There really was nothing wrong with my 1 night it’s just that I am passed shared amenities but I couldn’t get in any other accommodation because it was a Saturday night. The young lady on reception was a darling a little Czeck girl so sweet

We had a lovely stay at the Belfry guest house! We stayed in a twin room for 3 nights. The room itself was nothing special (justified by the price) however, it was clean and comfortable which is all we needed. The house had nice amenities and shared spaces. Staff were all fantastic. Overall very pleased with our stay. Thanks!

If you are looking for convenience, friendliness value for money location etc. can't ignore this place.
Down to earth, unpretentious and located on a very quiet spot in middle of town.
It will surely become my stopover place on my way north and back to sydne.

How you qualify this back packers as a four star hotel is beyond me.The only thing that is NOT communal was my bedroom, but even that smelt like the bed linen, pillows and doona had come straight off some sweaty body and put into a doona cover. The toilets, bathroom sinks, showers, kitchen, lounge everything shared. The whole place could do with a good clean, every surface is covered in dust, grime and the communal mixed sex bathroom enjoys the “pleasures” of your fellow guests hair on the shower screen and god knows what else. There is a smell of uncleanliness pervading the entire indoor area.It is the place I have felt the least safe, as a single female traveller, in the last 10 years. This isn’t the backpackers problem, but having some drunk person vomit literally outside your bedroom window and listening and putting up with the local residents lining the recycling bins outside the same window is deeply unpleasant.Let’s not even talk about not a single guest wearing a mask in common indoor areas, whilst Covid restrictions are still in place and absolutely everything is intended to be shared. The receptionist was nice, the views from the communal wrap around balcony are lovely. There’s an area of that balcony though that looks like it’s about to collapse and should probably be taped off as a hazard.I’m trying to find redeeming features but it’s hard going. The mattress were squishy, the pillows lumpy and as mentioned smelt sweaty (I ended up not using them, and sleeping

Better described as a hostel than guesthouse or hotel. Yoga devotees will love it. Beautiful old building and great location.

Very helpful staff when we arrived late at night with our young family...very accommodating and thoughtful.

This is a cheap stay, but for a one room price you are better off spending a bit more and staying somewhere that is not a hostel. It's not worth the $100 price tag for somewhere that you don't have your own bathroom, and is very loud/meant to be a hostel.

Great position with rain forest view.
On negative site, we arrived on a very hot day 40-41C . In the room was two standing very noisy fans , not AC . Been evening at check in time we did not take notice of the condition . Following morning we noticed they was full of dust, fluffy staff from storage and black dirt that we breath in all night
Also, the room was very unpleasant smelly, smell that did not went away despite the window and door open .
I won’t book again this hotel

We loved our stay at Bellingen YHA and only wish we could have stayed longer! Not only is it well located to visit the AMAZING Dorrigo National Park, but it has a huge kitchen, books to read, instruments to play and a lovely large balcony to relax and enjoy the view! The staff gave us lovely little local tips on swimming holes and where to eat. Would love to return for longer! Ranks high on my list of hostels I've stayed at in Australia!

Bed not comfortable. Bedroom too close to shower. Noisy when in used. Pricy for a room like that.

Beautiful place, I love staying here. Only concern was on first night, the toilet next to was still being constructed and there was a strong warm sewage smell near our room the first night we stayed. By the second it was gone.

Ideal location, right in the center of town. The owner/host went above and beyond to make our stay an exceptional experience. We fell in love with this gem of a town and this guesthouse. It boasts a lovely view, is extremely clean, and comfortable. I'll be back!

Beautiful location within minutes walk of town shops and restaurants, and only a short drive away from the most beautiful local sites. The staff were so so friendly and accommodating, and the common areas were so beautiful to relax in!

Upon arrival at Bellingen YHA we were informed that our reservation made through this website was not available. This obviously cause us a great deal of anguish and frustration. We were informed by the booking website that we did not need to reconfirm the booking, however it would have been quite beneficial for us to do so as the staff at the YHA seemed quite aloof with the processes involved with online booking websites.

Great little find in heart of Bellingen. Well run and friendly place with so much to do. We’re already keen to come back for a longer stay.
