The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the history of the place was interesting. Cleanliness was fine—I didn’t notice anything troubling. The shower temperature was a little tough to regulate, but the main issue I had was with noise. My room faced the main historic street, and the hotel blasts Sinatra tunes over the street until 10 PM, which was annoying. Also, rowdy people on the street until early morning were annoying. Not much the hotel can do about the rowdies, but just beware of this when you’re going into it. Bring earplugs.

All good

Great experience in legendary Deadwood Hotel. Check in staff were great
4.3
Great historic location. Authenticity was augmented by lots of flies and wasps in the room. Kill them all one day and there was more the next. Just like 1876.
4.3
Upgraded to a suite which was amazing. The hotel is right on main street with free parking in back of the hotel. The room was roomy and beautiful. The hotel itself is beautiful. We did the ghost tour and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. We would definitely stay again.
4.3
Great hotel, location even better (right on Main St). Every employee we came into contact with were so nice and willing to tell us the history of the hotel! The tour they offer on the weekends is also well worth it!
4.3
We had the Roosevelt suite and being that it is a historical building it was set as it would have been back in the day. We enjoyed it very much!

We enjoyed in Deadwood South Dakota we would stay there again

A great hotel. Had everything we needed… wonderful people and service and very convenient.

This historic hotel is awesome!

An email request to the hotel for a receipt of our full advance payment was not replied to. Subsequently, due to illness, we could not travel to the USA. Expedia were advised. They said in the circumstances they would see if they could negotiate a refund. We did not hear from the hotel or further from Expedia.

Excellent Hotel staff is extremely helpful

There is no trailer parking for guests even when handicap

Everything was amazing. Breakfast-we seemed to be an inconvenience as they are not set up but for a few customers at a time. Breakfast was really goo though...just not the comments that came with it.

The hotel was amazing! The customer service at check-in was great, especially with the amount of rooms that we had. Our only issue was that they were not set up for handling food service. When we went for breakfast, at first we were treated as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. We did not mind waiting for food as we were a large group (13). But instead of starting with that (we were told that eventually) we were met with mumbles of complaints. The person seemed overwhelmed and someone did come to help them. Other people came in and left due to the remarks. I will say that the food was great and the coffee was good. We did have to refill it ourselves as well as other customers. I would say stay at this hotel! It is amazing! Go to get breakfast somewhere else if you don't like confrontation and don't like to wait. Otherwise, the food is great!

It was great to stay right on Main St in Deadwood. It is a historic hotel so rooms are not fancy, they are neat and clean with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and there was good hotel parking across the street. We would stay there again.
4.3
Cool old hotel, has an old west style. Room was very large, comfortable and decorated with antiques. The casino is fun (free drinks if you play). Located near multiple restaurants, bars and shopping. Only drawback is parking across the street. Would definitely stay again
4.3
The building is old, but kinda cool. Carpets were dirty, could use a good cleaning. Bartenders and cook staff were great and very friendly. Their dinner menu was really mor like bar snacks. Corn dog, jalapeño poppers, ect.. breakfast was decent which was good because you couldn't find breakfast anywhere. The reception desk was awful. Shannon that greets you is not pleasant, nor helpful. Our tv remote batteries were dead and when we asked her for batteries she said it wasn’t her job.
4.3
Great historical hotel. The bed wasn’t the best, but overall this was as advertised.
4.3
It is a beautiful historic hotel. We enjoyed our stay here
4.3
Love the historical feel!

Desk staff were very nice but we were told housekeeping came in each day and they did not so no more coffee or clean towels for the next day until desk staff brought us some. Woman at desk was very accommodating but was definitely having a bad day. My guess is because no one was happy about lack of housekeeping
4.3
Both of the ladies at the front desk ignored our presence while checking us in. It was weird and as though we were interrupting their day.
If the hotel management is requiring front desk staff to do admin work that requires concentration, they should not be sitting in front of customers.
We were instructed on how to open the door to the room, however no one mentioned the special instructions for the temperature control—located next to the front door and not next to the thermostat.
Apparently the fan and thermostat are separate.
As a result, a very loud fan ran on high all night long and we got a horrible nights sleep.
The room had a large foyer. Who would think to go to the front door to find instructions for the air conditioning? Put instructions next to the thermostat, too.
Half of the lights in the bathroom and vanity area are burnt out, so really low light.
The beds were very hard. $190/night (incl. tax) we felt was not worth it.
I would have liked to give a better review.

Staff was friendly and helpful.
Building was unique, historic and interesting.
4.3
Loved having close parking in the back, breakfast at Bully's in the morning, elevator access.. Everything was clean and staff were professional.
4.3
It was in the historic downtown area close to shopping & casinos. Casino area was short of staff so waiting time for help was hours.
4.3
Nice authentic place with a lot of history
4.3
The historical context was really important for us, and I think the hotel lived up to expectations - The staff were really friendly, the room was great (in that historical context), parking was easy, and the breakfast was good. The only negative for us (and we are not gamblers) is that most of the first/ground floor is dedicated to slot machines; that of course might be a huge positive for others.

We got into town very late and this was open for is to stay 1 night

I had never stayed in deadwood so I wasn’t familiar with the history of the town. This hotel was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and shared the history of the building and area. Supposedly we stayed in the owner Seth Bullocks room 211 and it’s rumored to be haunted. In my experience I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary and felt safe and secure. But it was a fun experience regardless
4.3
Cool historic property. Walk out the door to main st deadwood which is nice.
4.3
Great location, very walkable. Cool historic hotel!
4.3
Historic Hotel, very pretty. Mattress update needed, rooms were comfortable, descent bathroom size for older hotel.
Hotel staff needs to more attentive and helpful. Restaurant staff was late, waited for them more than 20 mins and still never received any services. Poor!!
4.3
Cute Historic Hotel right in the middle of all the Deadwood Main Street activities. Walking distance to entertain yourself all day. Staff is super friendly and nice. Could use some updates like phone chargers on the nightstands but it is historic

The Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, nice bathroom. We were at the end of the hall, nice appearance but in need of repair of the window shades, and windows cleaned. It was a busy place but the room was quiet enough.
